    The most compelling argument against immigration is to be found on the front benches of the Tory Party.
    However, like grooming gangs, they are the exceptions and immigration on the whole has benefited the country.
    My own ancestor came by boat from France.

    Jeremy like many are confusing the issue whether deliberately or not. Of course we have gained by accepting and encouraging immigrants to this country for 60 years and the vast majority have come here to work, contribute and be part of our society and very few argue with that. What alarms many are the recent increase of immigrants who deliberately ditch their identities in the sea so that they cannot be checked and whose attitude to this country is far from friendly and people like Jeremy Corbyn, who I totally agree with on every other subject he talks about, refuse to accept and refuse to acknowledge that our indigenous people want then returned to where they came from.

      Mostly it was the very pro-conservative, right-wing media in this country portraying him as a communist and as anti-semitic. To be fair, many people rejected his Brexit policy (which was the main issue at the 2019 election), but by-and large his policies made sense and were agreed with. However, the 'establishment'/aristocracy in the UK would have been harmed by his policies, so did everything possible to vilify him - and, sadly, it worked.
      Instead we got Boris Johnson, arguably the worst Prime Minister ever, second only to his short-lived immediate successor, Liz Truss.

    • @RustyRoger
      @RustyRoger Год назад +3

      Jeremy Corbyn is a broadly compassionate person with a great track record of advocating for reconciliation between groups in conflict and reduction in violence. He's been a long-term supporter of equality and has walked the walk when it's come to attempting to change policies etc. to bring the changes about. Therefore, Conservative press has (successfully) fought to slander him because he is a progressive, whereas conservatism is rooted in being regressive (i.e. believing that things were better 'back in the day' and trying to go back to those times). He isn't perfect (like how he was only weakly supporting Remain in the Brexit debate, and probably thought that leaving was better), but his policies would have made society generally better rather than worse, as we've seen with the likes of Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and now Rishi Sunak. But the character assassination was incredibly effective to the point that Labour had to get rid of him to appease the centrists and slightly right voters that dislike the Tories who are now swinging far-right, so that they can guarantee a win in the next election.
