    EVERY TIME YOU SING PART OF LUCID DREAMS AT THE END OF YOUR VIDEOS I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING! IT MAKES TEARS STREAM DOWN MY FACE! That should just be the outro to all of your videos now because it seriously cures my crippling depression and makes me forget about my life for a few minutes as I choke on my own laughter.

    I got a shitty GPA in high school (like under a 3.0) and then I did a semester at another school and decided I hated it and got a 3.0 in college and they let me in. So even if you don't get in at first don't worry because it's super easy to transfer!

    To anyone reading the comments, not everybody goes “hard as fuck” at CU. I had fun but took the time to slow down and enjoy my classwork. In fact I wish I’d enjoyed my classwork more.
    That is, however, absolutely the great thing about a large school. You don’t have to put up with people’s shit if you don’t wanna deal with it all the time. I was able to balance insanely fun nights with learning some life changing shit. There are some incredible people who came out of CU and did more than party. They also did more than care about what others think or what their social life is like. Take advantage of the opportunities to be inquisitive. Those opportunities go away fast once you leave campus.

    Thank you for answering my question about clubs! I’d be curious to know more about Baxter’s experience in ENVD!

    • @jacksweeney
      @jacksweeney  5 лет назад +1

      Hey bro beans this is Baxter!! Sooo, ENVD... Let me start by saying that I am not technically in the ENVD college, but I am taking the introductory course for it which all freshman take. The course has been extremely interesting, raising questions about how we should design our urban centers in a more sustainable way and how to better interact with nature. The ENVD college has 4 "Focuses": Architecture, Landscape Architecture, urban planing, and design. More specific info about these and the curriculum can be found online: www.colorado.edu/academics/programs/environmental-design . I know a lot of people in the college itself though, and they all say it is very interesting but also lots of time consuming work. You have to take studio classes in which you create both physical and digital models. I hear the studio classes take up lots of time, but as long as you are passionate about what you are doing (which goes for anything in life) then the time doesn't really matter. The school also has really awesome facilities with lots of different design tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, etc.... If you are in the area you should definitely take a tour of the building and all the info for tours can be found on their website. With all that said, it is a really cool program, and if you are interested in studying ways to better the interaction between the human and natural world, this program would be great for you. Hope that helps!!!!

    I've applied to CU! I live in CO already so i'm excited to see if I get in or not. As someone who tries to stay away from vaping and weed (which is not easy when you already live in CO), are people at CU okay if you choose not to do it? I'm fine with others doing it around and etc. Do people try and peer pressure you a lot there?

    • @jacksweeney
      @jacksweeney  5 лет назад

      hahah that’s awesome!! i’m not sure about the pre-med stuff at all but i bet there’s a bunch of people doing that here

    • @jadeponder8923
      @jadeponder8923 5 лет назад +4

      Oi! Congrats! Biochem is super hard but also super rewarding! I know a few people who do a double major in MCDB (molecular cellular developmental biology) and Biochem, so if you want to pick up another major that’s a good one that has a lot of cross over! The pre med community over here is pretty good! You can add “pre med” as a designation on your degree audit and get access to a pre med advisor (but they make you watch a couple of videos and go to a workshop to add the designation) the AMSA chapter is also pretty popular (pre med student association) and they bring in a lot of interesting speakers who you can talk to and get the opportunity to shadow. There are also a few cool things you can do with health promotions through wardenburg (the health center). We are close to Boulder Community Hospital, which a lot of students volunteer at, but some also volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette and some make the drive to Denver go volunteer at the children’s hospital at Anschutz! Finally, we have a major called Integrated Physiology, so there are a lot of interesting classes you can take (no need to be an IPHY major) that have to do with health and systems of the body! I think that Cu is not a school that most people think of as a “pre med” school, but it definitely has a lot of opportunities!!

    • @jacksweeney
      @jacksweeney  5 лет назад +1

      greek life is HUGE here, but i'd say despite that it's still pretty easy to socialize without it. there are a ton of kids who aren't associated w greek life so it's pretty easy. i went random for my roommate and got HELLA lucky. idk it's honestly a personal choice but random def worked for me!! i know a lot of people that met on fb groups though and it seems like that works too. honestly you won't know until u actually meet them in person so i'd just go random

    I mean the Business school is good but not “insane” it’s ranked 65th. But University of Utah is ranked 44th and after one year you get in state tuition which is super cheap. So the value is better. I’m not a student at either, just off my own research.

      The undergraduate program at CU Boulder’s Leeds School of Business is ranked #22 nationally according to “U.S. News & World Report” in 2018. According to the “Financial Times”, the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business undergraduate program ranked #24 nationally. CU Boulder’s GRADUATE Business School is what you found ranked at #65. For many students, it is the undergraduate education that is more valuable considering applications to U.S. MBA programs dropped 7% in 2017 according to the Washington Post.

    How hard is it to actually get into CU boulder if I am to pursue a degree in astrophysics. Like is the average gpa actually 3.6? Or sat scores maybe? Do you have different gpa requirement from subject/department to subject/department?

    hello can you please have you (butt most likely baxter) answer this: Everything about the school seems perfect to me except for the fact that it seems the focus on environmental degrees is lacking compared to the other schools I am applying to (Duke, Berkeley, University of Oregon....) I hope that my observation is wrong! (please reply this comment)

      we're in libby which is right next to farrand field... but you want to get either cheyenne arapahoe, baker, libby, farrand, or hallet because they're all in the center of campus!!

      While the dorms he mentioned are awesome, Sewall is by far the best, unless you’re majoring in Engineering or Business then choose those dorms. Most of the dorms he suggested are close to Farrand Field, but that’s not where the majority of your classes will be. Sewall is a 5 min max to where all your classes will be and it’s right next to the Rec and the football stadium. It also has its own dining hall. If you choose Libby, Farrand, Cheyho, Baker, Hallett, you are GUARANTEED to get woken up by marching band at 6am. If I were you I would go: Sewall, Baker, Libby, Farrand, Hallett. (Cheyho is only for business majors)
