You really have best practices down pat. Your videos can save a lot of people a lot of heartache. And you're absolutely right about material transition areas. I need the extra metal top and bottom on the handle as the Carved Mammoth Ivory is going through the 2.5mm thick Damascus Tang and will not leave much for strength.

I run pretty lean on wood, I order as I need it but I forgot to Kant the block on a downward slant on a Bowie my first hiccup, then second attempt I found the guard to be uncomfortable until I ground it away to much and it didn’t look like a Bowie anymore so I ground it all away and I’m treading water now. I strictly like burl wood myself and really not anything else if I’m gonna make it; but I have antlers... it would be a bummer to fail a third time on the same knife so I probably won’t try antlers on this one, but to have future reference would be great!
