This is true unless you have your vendor merged for your build. Lot of people put their vendors into things like shelves. Then it’s a lot more work to store your vendor and remerge it. Or you can lose your camp and open up another without the vendor. This solves that issue in particular. As you see my builds you will understand better.
if i recall having a vendor within a shelter while the shelter entrance is active in a camp results in the vendor sign showing up despite not having an active vendor in that camp.
@@BxBxProductions I've wondered about that. I roll up on a lot of camps where I give up on finding their vendors and wind up going into some of the shelters when I'm in the mood. I thought that maybe they were just hiding the vendor someplace, but that makes more sense.
Yes, that is true. It will show up. At the end of the day, if I don’t see someone’s vendor after a quick search I move on. I can’t really blame builders for the limitations that Bethesda puts on the game with icons. 2 minutes of my time are gone sure, but was it really that big a loss - few caps and a few minutes maybe 1-3 times a day. That’s not enough to ruin my mood. But people will always be first to find and point out negativity. I’m a very recent RUclipsr, new and learning still. It’s sad that this is now my most commented video for this reason. I think for these kinds of videos that push the “community courtesy” boundaries need to be longer and explained better. This is no different than any other set of information in any world. It can be used for good or for bad intentions.
Well, sorry for all the negative feed back about using the stash box so close to the vendor. I realize it was just a representative example of how to do it and you did a good job of it. However, the crap you are seeing about the stash box is real. About a year and half ago my stash was "raided" and I lost nearly everything of any value from my main character. I thought placing a stash box right next to my vendor was a nice thing to do. No, it wasn't. I only just came back to the game about a month ago but will never use a vendor again. BTW, you gained a sub, me, keep making them vids, we'll watch'em. I'll tell you it seems like a lot changed while I was gone but so much more of it stayed the same.
I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. That really sucks and I can imagine that if I lost all my stash I would be done with the game too. I haven’t heard of anyone getting stash raided like that in over 2 years now, but I don’t blame you for being cautious still. Thank you for being genuine. I’m new to making videos like this and I’m learning from it. Not everyone sees these videos conceptually, so next time I’ll definitely try to be more mindful of how I’m sharing this information. I might actually just start sharing my voice because text on the screen is very limiting. I hope that your recent experience with the Wasteland treats you better! The new raid is refreshingly challenging compared to other events but if you run proper builds we are finishing them in 45 minutes now. I might share my build in a video soon and give some advice on the different stages of the raid.
dont know how to feel about this. sure smart trick for you, i know merging is a pain, but your camp will still show vendor icon, i would feel annoyed if i hoped to a camp with this. if you hide your camp for others sure
Cool stuff, thanks. Have you heard of the vendor stash glitch? If your vendor is too close to a stash box, apparently there’s an exploit to access your stash instead of the vendor. Never seen it, only heard about it in the marketplace discord. I’m timid, so I keep my vendor at least 2 foundations away from the nearest stash. Just curious if you’ve ever heard of that. Same glitch that caused everyone to list something for 40k caps.
I’ve heard of it, but never experience it; however, you can use this idea with more than just stash boxes. The possibilities are actually endless when you use this as a conceptual idea vs copy/pasting this exact example.
Sure thing, but that now limits you to only using either the small vendor or using massive items to hide larger vending variations. How would you do that with something like the fortune teller vendor?
@BradPlayz76 I hope this exchange is mutually respectful. I am being open minded about this but I don’t believe that our logic is seeing eye to eye on this one yet. Merging is a lot more work than destroying an egg in 1-2 seconds and being able to repair it for free. And hiding a thrasher egg in an object, which is smaller than any and every vendor is easier than hiding a vendor, especially massive ones like the fortune teller. (Check out my Camden Train Station build at 5:30 for reference). If the thrasher egg’s unique ability to break then vanish items anchored to it didn’t exist, I would resonate more with your suggestion.
@@cowinbaby902 Nah merging is easy, I do it all the time and I can make a video about how fast it can be done, sinking a vendor underground is also pretty easy.
@BradPlayz76 Yes, merging is easy, but I don’t see how it is easier than breaking and repairing an item. It essentially is doing the removing and re-merging for you. And the merge is always precise so you don’t have to realign your merge every time. I make the assumptions that people know the basics of drop/raise/flamethrower merging in this video. That’s why I speed it up and don’t even explain how I’m doing it in this one. Think we might not meet in the middle on this one. At the end of the day, this is just a video game. Whatever method you prefer, I say go for it! 😊👍
Yes, there are some dedicated vendor hoppers out there, literally switching teams so they can get free fast travels looking for that 40k rare item. Lol
This tutorial has two prerequisites that it’s useful for. 1. You don’t want to change camps 2. You don’t want to store your vendor; maybe you have a crazy merge in it. I know it’s pretty specific and most people will just use options 1-2. But if you want to bypass the limitations created by those, here’s your solution.
@DopeteK If your method is better, why not make a video from it? If not, dont throw stones at people who make the effort on showing people what they can do. Just by saying "my method is better" doesnt make it better lol, make a video proof and let people see what your method is. Have a nice day 👍
seems like a lot of work when you could just store the vender in 2 seconds

You are an amazing camp builder + very friendly (my friendy
Thank you, my friendy, for such kinds words! Hope you’ve been enjoying the raids!
Or, you could just store your vendor so players don't waste their time coming to your camp to shop.
Or you can just mark it off public so they don’t see it. AND you can keep your favorite camp up without worrying about losing caps to Todd. 😉

Yeah it’s definitely a controversial one. I personally try to mark my camp as private but others will probably not do it.
But I understand your point.

@ yeah totally! Appreciate the video. I was just curious, and obviously this video reminded me of the glitch haha.
All good. Curiosity is the precursor to learning! I’m all for it! 😊
I mean dude you know how merging works, merge the vendor into a bigger object boom
Sure thing, but that now limits you to only using either the small vendor or using massive items to hide larger vending variations.

@cowinbaby902 Ah for bigger items I would go underground and hide it under the camp. I was just saying that about the cash register.

Or you can turn off your camps public icon in the map view
Yes I do that in addition but teammates can still see it and could cap you out.
Majority of my shop sales come from group members coming to my camp lol. Usually have camp icon turned off

NEVER!!!
Put a vending machine, that close to a stash box, EVER!!!
You're just asking for your stuff to be taken...
This is a conceptual idea. Doesn’t have to be a stash box. 😉
