I admit I'm not a Treasure fan. Not that I dislike them, I've just legit never followed their music, I can't name a single member, etc. But this song is fun and the one you talked about who looks like Joker to me in this video is COOL AF. I like the edgy and sometimes weird, which is why I agree that they're filling a little bit of the Big Bang void. Big Bang did weird stuff and wasn't afraid to look a little crazy; G-Dragon was always in some weird hair or bonkers jewelry, TOP wearing weird hats and headdresses. So to see another boy group also not be afraid to be a little crazy and risk looking silly, but achieving badassery, is super cool.
I’m an old school YG fan and I gotta say I always look forward to Treasures comebacks bc of the exact same reason you said - they fill this hole in kpop that has been missing for a while since big bang stopped making music. They bring back all the good sounds and stuff from older generations and turn it into something amazingly fresh and new. Severely underrated even tho they are from YG but hey big bang was also underrated a long time ago - I think treasure will keep improving and hopefully make their big break soon.

24:02 that's what I've been hearing from all the feedback about kingkong. It's the old kpop sound but it's new at the same time. It's the old fun and hype with their new added flavor! that's a huge compliment... truly Bigbang contributed something in kpop's identity that no other group had ever done which definitely became a hole and something went missing when old-yg-sound became a history and they became inactive. And saying that treasure is an amazing predecessor is such a big compliment knowing how big bigbang is. They truly made us feel the hype and fun that 'that' hole missed all this time with their own color.. treasure is just an amazing artist.

I actually had the same reaction to Bona Bona as you did with this! 😂I was thinking from the first listen "oh my god, this song is the most hype song I've heard in a long time" and that was the song that got me into them. It was fun, made me really nostalgic and hyped all at the same time. And same with King Kong. i am just glad that Treasure is now finally showing their music color. I believe that YG didn't want them to make too much noise when they debuted because they were not on a favorable side that time. So they remain subtle. As much as I love this kids, I must admit that this is their first tittle track thats on my playlist everyday since its release.
