By posing the right kind of questions, a lot more could've been gleaned out of this great maestro. "Aapki laykari se kya murad hai"?!!! Are you serious!? It's like sitting before Einstein and asking him "What is an atom, how would you define it?" If you're so absolutely ignorant, you're not qualified to sit before the devata of tabla.
