JYPE way of promoting is quite clever despite I-fans criticizing it for not promoting on music shows enough blah2. Day6 really stabilize their image as a band through basking and live performances in their early days which makes them acceptable within Indie rock world. And I am so happy for their success after so many years of hard work and dedication ❤🎉
if you guys watch QWER different live performances, you'll notice a slightly different sound & tone from Hina's guitar & Magenta's bass. Well, it's because their stage amp provided are different for each live. Marshall will not sound like Mesa Boogie, Mesa Boogie will not sound like Bogner and so on. That showcase how real they're playing their instrument.
Now I understand why JYP did not bring day6 to music shows at their early times (even tho I wanted them to be promoted so badly) but now that I see why I actually appreciate what JYP did 🤧 that way Day6 would be able to stabilize themselves as an actual band and they proved themselves lots of times which is why they are so successful today 😆 their music is also amazing so how could anyone not like day6🥹🫶
This got me so emotional. As a villain (XH fan) I am so deeply thankful for these bands for paving the way for the industry to accommodate bands. Because if there weren't any improvements to how korean bands promote themselves, and the system (I know it's still shit and there's still a lot to do) but I wouldn't probably have stumbled upon xdinary heroes. And they are my ray of sunshine these days. So, I am sending the warmest hugs to all k-bands and their fans

being an idol and band by itself is hard enough, being an idol band is even harder. that's not mentioning this weird gatekeep culture in the indie side as well. the fans of indie band often won't like it if their band promote even just slightly like an idol and just want indie/underground band to stay underground & unknown. it's like there's no place for those who are in between. let band be idols too! let them be in the middle of the spectrum peacefully :(
I totally agree! It’s tough for idol bands to find a place when they don’t fit neatly into one category or the other. The gatekeeping from some indie fans can be disheartening, especially when a band just wants to grow and share their music

Is it because they have a clean image and have to keep an apolitical stance on issues when the rock scene is known to be outspoken about such things?

Thank you for this very informative video. As a Day6 fan since early 2016 I know all the struggles my fave band went thru. Such a pity for korean bands who's talent and skills can't be acknowledged due to the lack of space and opportunities. So frustrating at how all these wonderful musicians are not taken seriously. I watched QWER's performance a few days ago. It was such an exciting live performance. If they had seen their performance in person, they would never be able to bring up such foolish things as hand-syncing. Moreover, they proved their live performance at the Pentaport Rock Festival, the biggest rock festival in Korea. Their new album is coming out on 9/23. Listen, everyone!
JYP have done the same thing with Xdinary Heroes they've done lots of outdoor festivals in many different towns and countries :) they always sing live on shows but rarely play live you just have to look at the size of Gun-ils drum kit to know if they're playing live lol and obviously the wires and paddles all over the floor
The sound engineering of Korean broadcasting stations has been poor since long ago. Most of the engineers at broadcasting stations are not people who studied sound, but rather people who majored in electrical engineering, and they value academic background more than skills. Their understanding of band sound and engineering are also very poor, and they take up a lot of time, so they themselves refuse to broadcast live. I envy the live sound level of Japanese broadcasting stations
Indonesia have college to study audio engineering. Audio engineering must know about music, basic of electronics, and basic of acoustic. I'm an electronic engineer and design audio product.
I could tell if a band is doing handsync by listening to the sound and their hand movement. But i can easily recognize a band doing handsync by just watching their expressions. They look so much passionate when doing live music

We all have seen it since FTI & CNB era, and I've thought many things have changed since then. Nowadays I no longer watch mainstream music shows cause they provide nothing more than chances for big companies to flaunt their money. So I did not realize that this hand-sync situation is still very prevalent now. But then, seeing how the public reception still choose to one sided-ly blame the talents is very disheartening. I think Korean bands have a unique and distinct style but because of this strong prejudice, their growth are often stunted from the early days. It's sad but true that despite the progress made since the FTI & CNB era, the handsync issue remains prevalent, and it’s often the artists who get blamed rather than the system. It’s frustrating to see how this limits the growth of incredibly talented bands who deserve more recognition. Hopefully, with the rise of band popularity in Korea right now, things will change over time
As a Idol Band stan (I stan almost all the bands showed in this vid), and a musician myself, I can completely understand the situation and see how unfair it is for bands to be forced to play with hand-sync. I've seen the broadcasts, and itswpretty obvious that its not live, but since I started hearing Kbands, I never judged them for that bc I've seen their concerts on YT and their live performances, acoustics, MTV (In Cnblue and Ftisland case) and in this cases we can see their experience and skills playing and singing live. Lately Day6, XH and Lucy have uploaded live performances to their YT and we can clearly see their live, so, we should keep supporting thid amazing bands, bc the companies are not giving them the attention they deserve, each band have a different color and it's unfair that companies just decide to givw them less attention bc costs more 😢😢 I love bands, and so should do every Kpop stan, bc they are pillars in the Idol industry.

I think he's right tho, because of bands like QWER that doesn't sound like your traditional band, band music became more well-known. Also isn't band music the "pop" in western music? QWER are definitely helping to bring more attention to the K-Band scene and make band music more recognizable. I’ve read many Korean comments noting that while some 'rock enthusiasts' may dislike or underestimate idol bands, it's true that many people were first introduced to band music through these idol bands and then went on to explore and discover more bands, including indie ones. I’m glad to see the K-Band scene flourishing too and hope they continue to thrive and get the recognition they deserve
As a Villain (xh fanbase) i bacame a fan like a few months ago. I always listen to the mvs and other KPOP then I started watching the Channel stations version, I noticed that the instruments weren't plug. It somewhat bothered me cuz like the lead guitarist of XH doesn't even sing. So I was "that's it?? what's the pointing he just standing pretending to play" then I read somewhere that the KPOP artist do pre recording.. I was somewhat discontented
To be fair, QWER started as a RUclips project to showcase of their growth and improvements over the time. Only Chodan and Siyeon started with a solid foundations, which is crucial to carry the band. Magenta and Hina pretty much had to start from zero with their instruments. Although they still have backing played in the back, its really just as backing. Their real instruments are loud. I’m proud of QWER. They have been performing at many events, given it was supposed to be only a RUclips project
Thats why XDH mostly perform at local music festival where they can perform live in their end year schedule, they dont go to award show or music gayo like mostly idols
You're absolutely right! Performing live as a band requires a lot more equipment, set-up time, and technical support than live singing. It involves setting up and mic'ing multiple instruments, balancing sound levels, and making sure everything works smoothly, which adds to the complexity and cost. Unfortunately, that’s why many TV shows opt for handsync or playback to save time and resources. It's a tough reality, but hopefully, more shows will find ways to support live band performances in the future

From what I see, it's hard to be an idol rock band, they dont fit anywhere. They lack the popularity they deserves just like other idols from the same company, but they are too "maintenance" to be an indie. Their music always get criticized from both even though they charted well; "too loud", "too obscure", "too pop", "too pretty". One of the reason I know K-rock was through N.Flying and CNBlue and from then on, I keep on watching both Idols and K-rock. It's pretty sad since idol rock bands, at least in my view, are what makes k-rock go international especially in K-wave era, yet they aren't appreciated enough by both sides.
Learning about how music shows will charge you a bunch to play live was pretty eye opening. It’s crazy that so many groups who did go on music shows and didn’t pay would then be criticized if they didn’t actually play because music show never said anything about this stupid fee. Makes sense that groups that play instruments rarely go on music shows, since it’s almost a lose lose. You lose a bunch of money if you do play live, if you don’t play live you get criticized if you are shown to be fake playing. Too much risk for a stupid music show that most bands won’t win since bands aren’t as popular as idols.
very very informative, I've been a fan of many korean (idol) band for quite long now, Day6, N.Flying, and now I'm also a big fan of qwer, and no one can't deny the existence of qwer is really makes us as international fans excited, they bring "new experience" of music format, they make band format feels more "pop", more trendy among korean fans, I really don't understand why some k-netz are often seeing lots of things so negative, never really gave "benefit of the doubt" they just keep saying "no no" to something they don't like while spreading lots of fake news, or fake allegations, it's frustrated me how dense and ignorance some of those knetz. I do hope lots of other bands like qwer would be born in the future, also we can see that Day6 receive a huge success just recently after almost a decade in the business, I feel like "wth knetz where've you been after so many years"...Day6 swept the charts it gaves me goosebumps, and qwer staying so long on charts too, the obstacle is a lot, but I see a future for (idol) bands, a bright future I think, tho again we may find many difficult times thanks to those stupid knetz. bands need about 15-30minutes to do sound check in tv shows with 10+ idol group/bands perform, there's no way to have 15mins sound check and then just perform 3minutes song
i took my hat off for kim egg. aside from his eccentric behaviour, all his move about qwer are actually very well calculated. in this era of social media, you need to fully utilized it for the benefit. thats why he intentionally choose social media personalities are the member. gave them enough training and some fitting songs, and use the member follower as promotion tools. and guess what? it worked. a thing thatbactually just another of his youtube gig became a hit. they even manage to reach top spot on music chart. and they done it with zero tv promotion (with the reason as stated above; expensive). in today k-music industries that already overfilled with rappin-dancin-bling bling, the existence of music band like qwer or day6 gave a new breath of air. no wonder both of them peak the chart head to head. looking forward for another k music band 😎
That is why ftisland doesn't go to music shows to promote their songs, the drawback no views on their videos, no reactions. They are fantastic in concerts. There is no singer like Lee Hong Ki and no musicians like Jaejin and Minhwan period.
Even on German TV, you can often see hand-synched bands without any connecting cables. This is due to the limitations of the broadcast environment, not because they cannot play.......

on tv, usually they double it with recording even if the performers performed live. and most of the time the tv broadcast forbid many groups on performing live. so its not like the group want to fake perform but they were forced to do so
As a VIPiKONIC I saw the stereotypes that TOP, GD & Bobby had to overcome as an idol group with gaining respect from the HipHop/rap community (even though some were from underground HH scene) As a baby MyDay & learning Day6 had the same struggles in the Indie scene to then overcome up through their hard work & continuous improvement makes me so happy for then.
As a drummer and a part of a band myself this is just sad. As if being in a band and having a band isn't hard enough and then this another level kind of fckery is happening to them, bro that's tough.
Being a part of a band already comes with its own set of challenges, and dealing with issues like hand-syncing just adds another layer of difficulty. It’s tough to see talented musicians facing these obstacles
qwer might not be the best at their instruments but if you actually watch their performances from day 1 literally their first ever performance on entview_live it is so obvious that their instruments are live. really scary that people who can't even tell handsync to live can sit there with confidence and say that they're handsyncing.

TV broadcasts (music shows) do not support (lack of) audio systems etc. for bands to perform live. Only in the festival and concert we can hear their best audio for live performance. So don't judge the band itself
My expectation for all band appearances on music shows is that they’re like MVs but w/ live singing. After YoungK’s interview w/ Eric Nam talking about the expensive logistical nightmare of playing live, I can understand why. Not ideal or preferred, but it’s something they need to do to promote their music. TBH, Kpop groups dance but typically lip sync on these shows, right? Why aren’t they called out for not really singing?

Of course they also sing live on their concert most of the time I just want to point out op saying "why aren't they (idols) called out for not really singing" which is not true because multiple groups are getting call out for doing lipsync actually and people often make fun of these idols for doing lipsync without even knowing the reason why they do that Most music show don't really have good sounds system, that's why these days most idols are lipsync on music show, even when they're really good at signing like Taeyeon or aespa In Korean there's only a few idols that are actually being recognised as "singer" but most of the time they just see idols as idols not a "singer' Just like how most Korean don't really consider idols as "dancer" or "rapper" or "actor" or "musicians"

It seems like a lot of people look at idols as performers and not singers so they expect good dancing and stage presence more than they expect live singing.There has been more backlash against idols for poor performances when they do sing live. Famously, Jimin of BTS performed an encore stage after he won on a music show and did not sound good. He received a lot of criticism for it. From what I heard it may have just been a technical problem where he couldn't properly hear himself when he was singing.

In singing with dance or a group who sing and dance we can accept their lipsycronize because it was hard to do it in same time..although some group can do it with live voice while dancing...this why we can accept lipsyc on the group who dance while singing number one of all was the difficulty of breathing..singing has has proper way but if you do it while dancing it can be exhausted and the more you get exhaust and tired the more breathing sound they can hear on microphone..this is why they lipsyc but it was excuse because they are dancing
Music broadcast doesn't allowed artist to show their talent either kpop idols nor K-band. They want to edit a clean perfect show like a mv, 'cause all music broadcast systems are like a commercial plate-forme. But for K-band it' s crucial for them to perform not handsyncing😢

They are mostly handsync on awards show especially if it's on MAMA. But I think QWER recent performance on MMA are alive altho their backing track are very loud There are only few real live band performance on awards show from kbands that I know, Sillica Gel on MMA and Kardi as opening on GDA
If you want to see idols doing full live.. check their festival, busking, and concert For a music show or award show usually they are using backtrack especially for bands because to set up the stage they need more sound system and cost more for the band, that's why QWER don't promote on music show

i love qwer, honestly wish they drop that "idol" thing... their humble rise is enough and positive enough to be jst an actual band
JYPE way of promoting is quite clever despite I-fans criticizing it for not promoting on music shows enough blah2. Day6 really stabilize their image as a band through basking and live performances in their early days which makes them acceptable within Indie rock world. And I am so happy for their success after so many years of hard work and dedication ❤🎉
if you guys watch QWER different live performances, you'll notice a slightly different sound & tone from Hina's guitar & Magenta's bass. Well, it's because their stage amp provided are different for each live. Marshall will not sound like Mesa Boogie, Mesa Boogie will not sound like Bogner and so on. That showcase how real they're playing their instrument.

Now I understand why JYP did not bring day6 to music shows at their early times (even tho I wanted them to be promoted so badly) but now that I see why I actually appreciate what JYP did 🤧 that way Day6 would be able to stabilize themselves as an actual band and they proved themselves lots of times which is why they are so successful today 😆 their music is also amazing so how could anyone not like day6🥹🫶
This got me so emotional. As a villain (XH fan) I am so deeply thankful for these bands for paving the way for the industry to accommodate bands. Because if there weren't any improvements to how korean bands promote themselves, and the system (I know it's still shit and there's still a lot to do) but I wouldn't probably have stumbled upon xdinary heroes. And they are my ray of sunshine these days. So, I am sending the warmest hugs to all k-bands and their fans

한국 방송에서 밴드가 라이브를 하려면 3000만원 이상의 비용이 든다고 해요. 그래서 대부분의 밴드가 방송에서 라이브 하는 게 힘들다고 하더라구요.
그래서 아직까지 QWER이 방송에 나가지 않는 이유도 있다고 하네요.

I also love how you ended it with that inspiring quote. I love the language used recognizing the effort of these artists and how we should unify and prop one another up rather than pretentiously make distinctions and tear each other down. being an idol and band by itself is hard enough, being an idol band is even harder. that's not mentioning this weird gatekeep culture in the indie side as well. the fans of indie band often won't like it if their band promote even just slightly like an idol and just want indie/underground band to stay underground & unknown.

@@BAND_CODEDI can understand the complaints people have about idol rappers since a lot of them don’t write their own music, but since most idol bands do write their own music I don’t really understand what the stigma is about. Is it because they have a clean image and have to keep an apolitical stance on issues when the rock scene is known to be outspoken about such things?

Thank you for this very informative video. As a Day6 fan since early 2016 I know all the struggles my fave band went thru. Such a pity for korean bands who's talent and skills can't be acknowledged due to the lack of space and opportunities. So frustrating at how all these wonderful musicians are not taken seriously. Hopefully it's time for a change..

I watched QWER's performance a few days ago. It was such an exciting live performance. If they had seen their performance in person, they would never be able to bring up such foolish things as hand-syncing. Moreover, they proved their live performance at the Pentaport Rock Festival, the biggest rock festival in Korea. Their new album is coming out on 9/23. Listen, everyone!

JYP have done the same thing with Xdinary Heroes they've done lots of outdoor festivals in many different towns and countries :) they always sing live on shows but rarely play live you just have to look at the size of Gun-ils drum kit to know if they're playing live lol and obviously the wires and paddles all over the floor
The sound engineering of Korean broadcasting stations has been poor since long ago. Most of the engineers at broadcasting stations are not people who studied sound, but rather people who majored in electrical engineering, and they value academic background more than skills. Their understanding of band sound and engineering are also very poor, and they take up a lot of time, so they themselves refuse to broadcast live. I envy the live sound level of Japanese broadcasting stations
Indonesia have college to study audio engineering. Audio engineering must know about music, basic of electronics, and basic of acoustic. I'm an electronic engineer and design audio product.
QWER has made it clear from day 1 that they are a growing idol band. I'm proud how far they have come.

We all have seen it since FTI & CNB era, and I've thought many things have changed since then. Nowadays I no longer watch mainstream music shows cause they provide nothing more than chances for big companies to flaunt their money. So I did not realize that this hand-sync situation is still very prevalent now. But then, seeing how the public reception still choose to one sided-ly blame the talents is very disheartening. I think Korean bands have a unique and distinct style but because of this strong prejudice, their growth are often stunted from the early days. Anyway, thanks for the great video, it summed up the situation nicely and very easy to understand. Great job as always ^^b
It's sad but true that despite the progress made since the FTI & CNB era, the handsync issue remains prevalent, and it’s often the artists who get blamed rather than the system. It’s frustrating to see how this limits the growth of incredibly talented bands who deserve more recognition. Hopefully, with the rise of band popularity in Korea right now, things will change over time
As a Idol Band stan (I stan almost all the bands showed in this vid), and a musician myself, I can completely understand the situation and see how unfair it is for bands to be forced to play with hand-sync. I've seen the broadcasts, and itswpretty obvious that its not live, but since I started hearing Kbands, I never judged them for that bc I've seen their concerts on YT and their live performances, acoustics, MTV (In Cnblue and Ftisland case) and in this cases we can see their experience and skills playing and singing live. Lately Day6, XH and Lucy have uploaded live performances to their YT and we can clearly see their live, so, we should keep supporting thid amazing bands, bc the companies are not giving them the attention they deserve, each band have a different color and it's unfair that companies just decide to givw them less attention bc costs more 😢😢

I think he's right tho, because of bands like QWER that doesn't sound like your traditional band, band music became more well-known. Also isn't band music the "pop" in western music? QWER are definitely helping to bring more attention to the K-Band scene and make band music more recognizable.
I’ve read many Korean comments noting that while some 'rock enthusiasts' may dislike or underestimate idol bands, it's true that many people were first introduced to band music through these idol bands and then went on to explore and discover more bands, including indie ones.
I’m glad to see the K-Band scene flourishing too and hope they continue to thrive and get the recognition they deserve

음방에서 무대 꾸미는 비용이 중소에서 천만원에서 2천만원 정도선. 대기업은 3천 정도선.
거기에 밴드같은 경우 악기로 라이브 세팅까지 가져가야 한다면 최소로 잡아도 5백에서 천 정도... 그러니 그냥 라이브 세팅 포기하고 악기만 들고 가서 비용 절약.
As a Villain (xh fanbase) i bacame a fan like a few months ago. I always listen to the mvs and other KPOP then I started watching the Channel stations version, I noticed that the instruments weren't plug. It somewhat bothered me cuz like the lead guitarist of XH doesn't even sing. So I was "that's it?? what's the pointing he just standing pretending to play" then I read somewhere that the KPOP artist do pre recording.. I was somewhat discontented
To be fair, QWER started as a RUclips project to showcase of their growth and improvements over the time. Only Chodan and Siyeon started with a solid foundations, which is crucial to carry the band. Magenta and Hina pretty much had to start from zero with their instruments. Although they still have backing played in the back, its really just as backing. Their real instruments are loud. I’m proud of QWER. They have been performing at many events, given it was supposed to be only a RUclips project

Thats why XDH mostly perform at local music festival where they can perform live in their end year schedule, they dont go to award show or music gayo like mostly idols

Performing live band on any music show on TV is actually much more expensive and hassle than performing live singing
You're absolutely right! Performing live as a band requires a lot more equipment, set-up time, and technical support than live singing. It involves setting up and mic'ing multiple instruments, balancing sound levels, and making sure everything works smoothly, which adds to the complexity and cost. Unfortunately, that’s why many TV shows opt for handsync or playback to save time and resources. It's a tough reality, but hopefully, more shows will find ways to support live band performances in the future

From what I see, it's hard to be an idol rock band, they dont fit anywhere. They lack the popularity they deserves just like other idols from the same company, but they are too "maintenance" to be an indie. Their music always get criticized from both even though they charted well; "too loud", "too obscure", "too pop", "too pretty". One of the reason I know K-rock was through N.Flying and CNBlue and from then on, I keep on watching both Idols and K-rock. It's pretty sad since idol rock bands, at least in my view, are what makes k-rock go international especially in K-wave era, yet they aren't appreciated enough by both sides.

It’s crazy that so many groups who did go on music shows and didn’t pay would then be criticized if they didn’t actually play because music show never said anything about this stupid fee.
Makes sense that groups that play instruments rarely go on music shows, since it’s almost a lose lose.
You lose a bunch of money if you do play live, if you don’t play live you get criticized if you are shown to be fake playing. Too much risk for a stupid music show that most bands won’t win since bands aren’t as popular as idols.

very very informative, I've been a fan of many korean (idol) band for quite long now, Day6, N.Flying, and now I'm also a big fan of qwer, and no one can't deny the existence of qwer is really makes us as international fans excited, they bring "new experience" of music format, they make band format feels more "pop", more trendy among korean fans, I really don't understand why some k-netz are often seeing lots of things so negative, never really gave "benefit of the doubt" they just keep saying "no no" to something they don't like while spreading lots of fake news, or fake allegations, it's frustrated me how dense and ignorance some of those knetz. I do hope lots of other bands like qwer would be born in the future, also we can see that Day6 receive a huge success just recently after almost a decade in the business, I feel like "wth knetz where've you been after so many years"...Day6 swept the charts it gaves me goosebumps, and qwer staying so long on charts too, the obstacle is a lot, but I see a future for (idol) bands, a bright future I think, tho again we may find many difficult times thanks to those stupid knetz. bands need about 15-30minutes to do sound check
in tv shows with 10+ idol group/bands perform, there's no way to have 15mins sound check and then just perform 3minutes song
i took my hat off for kim egg. aside from his eccentric behaviour, all his move about qwer are actually very well calculated.
in this era of social media, you need to fully utilized it for the benefit. thats why he intentionally choose social media personalities are the member. gave them enough training and some fitting songs, and use the member follower as promotion tools. and guess what? it worked. a thing thatbactually just another of his youtube gig became a hit. they even manage to reach top spot on music chart. and they done it with zero tv promotion (with the reason as stated above; expensive).
in today k-music industries that already overfilled with rappin-dancin-bling bling, the existence of music band like qwer or day6 gave a new breath of air. no wonder both of them peak the chart head to head.

That is why ftisland doesn't go to music shows to promote their songs, the drawback no views on their videos, no reactions. They are fantastic in concerts. There is no singer like Lee Hong Ki and no musicians like Jaejin and Minhwan period.

Even on German TV, you can often see hand-synched bands without any connecting cables. This is due to the limitations of the broadcast environment, not because they cannot play.......

As a VIPiKONIC I saw the stereotypes that TOP, GD & Bobby had to overcome as an idol group with gaining respect from the HipHop/rap community (even though some were from underground HH scene)
As a baby MyDay & learning Day6 had the same struggles in the Indie scene to then overcome up through their hard work & continuous improvement makes me so happy for then.

Being a part of a band already comes with its own set of challenges, and dealing with issues like hand-syncing just adds another layer of difficulty. It’s tough to see talented musicians facing these obstacles
qwer might not be the best at their instruments but if you actually watch their performances from day 1 literally their first ever performance on entview_live it is so obvious that their instruments are live. really scary that people who can't even tell handsync to live can sit there with confidence and say that they're handsyncing.

TV broadcasts (music shows) do not support (lack of) audio systems etc. for bands to perform live. Only in the festival and concert we can hear their best audio for live performance. So don't judge the band itself

My expectation for all band appearances on music shows is that they’re like MVs but w/ live singing. After YoungK’s interview w/ Eric Nam talking about the expensive logistical nightmare of playing live, I can understand why. Not ideal or preferred, but it’s something they need to do to promote their music.
TBH, Kpop groups dance but typically lip sync on these shows, right? Why aren’t they called out for not really singing?
I think a lot KPop idols also get called out for Lipsync, that's why KPop idols aren't really considered as singer in korea

I'm not saying that all idols are lipsync. Of course they also sing live on their concert most of the time
I just want to point out op saying "why aren't they (idols) called out for not really singing" which is not true because multiple groups are getting call out for doing lipsync actually and people often make fun of these idols for doing lipsync without even knowing the reason why they do that
Most music show don't really have good sounds system, that's why these days most idols are lipsync on music show, even when they're really good at signing like Taeyeon or aespa
In Korean there's only a few idols that are actually being recognised as "singer" but most of the time they just see idols as idols not a "singer'

Idols have definitely been called out for not singing live on music shows although it is more accepted for them to lipsync. It seems like a lot of people look at idols as performers and not singers so they expect good dancing and stage presence more than they expect live singing.There has been more backlash against idols for poor performances when they do sing live. Famously, Jimin of BTS performed an encore stage after he won on a music show and did not sound good. He received a lot of criticism for it. From what I heard it may have just been a technical problem where he couldn't properly hear himself when he was singing.

QWER worked so hard to be able to perform live
thats why they never want to play on tv station music show. they have to pay the tv station for promotion, they have to setup all the sound system and the instrument by themselves, and that will cost stupidly high. even kim egg said during jang sungkyu interview that the cost of 1 time tv promotion is more expensive than their building monthly rent 😂

악기 세팅하는데 시간이 오래걸려서 음악방송에서 라이브 하기 힘든거지 그냥 립싱크하는 아이돌도 한번 출연하는데 몇천 깨짐 무대세팅비용, 의상, 헤어,메이크업 이런거 때문에..
ar말고 mr정도는 라이브로 쳐줘야한다. 부족한 악기나 사운드를 보충해주는 점에서 오히려 관객들은 좀 더 완성된 곡을 들을 수 있어서 이득이지.

In singing with dance or a group who sing and dance we can accept their lipsycronize because it was hard to do it in same time..although some group can do it with live voice while dancing...this why we can accept lipsyc on the group who dance while singing number one of all was the difficulty of breathing..singing has has proper way but if you do it while dancing it can be exhausted and the more you get exhaust and tired the more breathing sound they can hear on microphone..this is why they lipsyc but it was excuse because they are dancing

They are mostly handsync on awards show especially if it's on MAMA.
But I think QWER recent performance on MMA are alive altho their backing track are very loud
There are only few real live band performance on awards show from kbands that I know, Sillica Gel on MMA and Kardi as opening on GDA
If you want to see idols doing full live.. check their festival, busking, and concert
For a music show or award show usually they are using backtrack especially for bands because to set up the stage they need more sound system and cost more for the band, that's why QWER don't promote on music show

However, 'qwer' doesn't have to feel that way.
yes they do? first of all their drummer is a music major and has played the drum since she was a child. also, the other members have been playing for months before their debut, since then they have improved a lot and do play live on every performance. why is it not unfair to be labelled hand-syncers when they play albeit not as well as the other listed idol bands?
