  • This week on AATV Anvil takes us through two airsoft mercenary load outs. One is from the movie Blood Diamond and the other a PMC (private military company) operator from the 1990s.
Our loadout guides are intended for Airsoft Skirmishing only and are not for living history or re-enacting. Some considerations may have been made because of this. We consider boots, gloves and protective glasses as essential PPE and for the user to decide on for their own needs.
All airsoft replicas used this video are unloaded, with no power source and on a controlled airsoft site.
Thanks to West Midlands Airsoft for the use of their woodland site 'The Fob':

These are very lightweight and working loadouts. UNDERESTIMATED! Nice! - It fits for me perfectly, because my sore back. Refreshing way how to "fight" an airsoft. Not like all likely modern-turbo-cool people run all across small fields with heavy ciras and keymod with coloured guns like in CSGO. No, no, You guys showing to as a different and better way how to do it. Highly informative and isnpirative. This is why I love you guys.

Glad more people are looking at kits like this. I've been running Rhodesian and SADF kit for ages. Working on 32 bn kit and a Rhodie SAS setup atm but half the time I just grab random kit and go for a relaxed merc look with Portuguese lizard or brushstroke camo.

The SADF m83 chest rigs and M83 battle are still my favourite gear to wear, they are great quality and can take the constant punishment. Still wearing my SADF battle jacket 17 years later after leaving the army, it’s just too good for my needs.

Over a decade ago I remember getting a copy of a Airsoft Magazine ( forgot title) from WH Smith’s that had a article every month called Wannabes.
I was surprised how much knowledge these guys, and girls had gleaned to get their kit to a high standard.
From a woman with replica IDF kit to SAS in the first Gulf War.
