we used to have a neem tree in our back yard. unfortunately it wasn't ours, it was on the wrong side of the fence. and the neighbors had it cut down. it was getting too much overgrowth and getting a bit problematic. they've just recently had the stump removed that it left behind so they can put in a new fence

I don't know neem leaves are edible. We used to have that tree at our backyard and burned its leaves to stow away insects during sundown😄.
