My grandfather was the "mine boss" as you call him. Actually, the Superintendent. My father and his siblings were raised at Chrysotile. I have toured this property several times, the last about 16 years back with my father and was inside all of these buildings. I was told that what you called the "farm house" was the home my grandparents lived in with their young family. (thus the mine boss' house) I have pictures of my family members in front of this home. The home you called the home of the mine boss was apartments, up and down. The upstairs is where my parents lived when they were married in 1941. I would love to see if you have pictures of the general store building prior to your reconstruction work.
That's neat! If you have any old photos please send them to offfoadaz99@gmail.com You're welcome to come back and visit any time! I will look for photos of the store prior to gutting it.
Hey don't know ya but I own Moving Forward Foreclosure Cleanouts in Phoenix. If you all need things like furniture, a kitchen sink please let me know. Don't know how far ya are but we find all kinds of stuff and would be honored to look out for and save stuff for you guys. We do property cleanouts so we find everything from shovels to building materials. We also work hand and hand with folks who donate. So please remember and maybe we could save you guys some cash and help. Make each day amazing and never stop moving forward.
What a tremendous undertaking you guys are working on! Potential is sky high..wish you best of luck. My first thought was once roads and camp sites are suitable..invite a gang of work campers with major trade skills to help the project get rolling. Material costs are gonna be huge but if you save on labor that will be a huge plus. Keep the videos coming with progress and good luck Sir!
