When my son was little, we lived in an apartment. He and I made a fireplace with some fake brick my grandma had. Then we created fire by giving him three pieces of paper and had him color one red, one orange and one yellow (he was 3 so that was all he could do) I cut the papers into flames. I made "logs" by cutting wide strips of cardboard, then peeling the layers apart and rolling the result into log shapes. (The cardboard "waves" are exposed giving a log bark look) It all turned out much better than I expected... actually was quite realistic! We used it every year until we moved to a house with its own. My son is 28 and still talks about our "fireplace" with fond memories. It's neat to see how his face lights up at the memories.😊
