UK airings also (sometimes) edited out Panthro's nunchucks in Thundercats. ..And these Turtles knock-offs look kinda like cats... There's surely gotta be some "amusing" far-fetched connection there that I can't be bothered to make up right now.
The 2003 TMNT was often on when I was a kid, but the last episode I remember seeing before the channel I watched Saturday morning cartoons on lost the broadcast rights, was some cliffhanger ending where they traveled back in time and accidentally killed Shredder in the past. Never saw the resolution to that cliffhanger, but I think I'll jump to the conclusion that the timeline was altered such that Shredder was renamed to Sgredder and the Turtles were replaced with green tccnage cat monsters. Don't mess with time travel, kids!
That sounds like an interesting concept. Depending on how far in the past this happens and Splinter's backstory, the Turtles could have erased themselves from existence.
The "cat" nose is something that some turtles actually have! A species of turtles genetically has that weird kind of nose in nature,sooo...... *close enough!*
It was nice of them to suggest buying the legit figures. They're like the precursor to the, "If you like this, BUY IT!" torrent providers. Also, I'm glad Mikey finally switched to a greatsword. Had to respec his build to have more strength, but it was worth it.
He updated a video's description (I believe it's his Turtles Forever review video) saying that he's since watched the 2003 TMNT and actually rather enjoyed it, at least up until a certain season I think. Ironically, this made him dislike Turtles Forever even more because he realized (like how I did earlier) that the 2003 Turtles were also acting out of character. Turtles Forever really feels like it has two totally different groups of Turtles and not the '87 and '03 groups.
Cursed images from satellite pictures: neko Tmnt bootlegs. Edit: some softselled turtles have noses that *some what* resembles the Tccnage Mutant Ninjas. Guess these ninjas won't be reflecting bullets off their shells!
Phelan, you've clearly not studied your 2003 TMNT episode lore. The bootleggers clearly based this on the episode where Shr- Oh, I'm sorry, SGREDDER and the Big Cheese team up to destroy the all-new mutated Samurai Pizza Turtles.
My god. They're building a knock-off connected universe! Tortoise Rider has to team up with the Teenage Mutant Ninjas to defeat the dreaded... okay I cant recall a villain reference so let's say Sgredder and leprosy.
Guess they couldn't decide between a TMNT knock-off or a Thundercats one, so they made it a little of both. That or they're mutant versions of the Lion-Turtle from Avatar.
The things in the straps on their chests are called kunai. They were originally farming implements which ninja in feudal Japan repurposed as weapons and climbing tools. You were very close when you guessed that they might be throwing daggers as, when used as a weapon, kunai functioned pretty much exactly the same as a throwing knife.
Phelan, those "cat turtle" head molds resemble Mecha Godzilla's 2nd incarmation (see: Godzilla Against Mecha Godzilla, 1992) Now I want this crossover to be a thing
You know what those cat turtles look like? The super buff versions of the turtles from that two episode anime. Anybody have any idea where that lion sword is from? It looks familiar, but it's not from Thundercats or Voltron...
Very weird and whacky turtles toys for sure! I love their whacky giant weapons! You should do more videos related to the 2003 series! It’s my favorite version of Ninja Turtles so I would be ecstatic to see your thoughts on the series! Terrific ending skit too! Truly fantastic!
I have an older version of that sword in my home from way back in the late 90s. Its all one piece of very durable hard plastic, it doesn't have the lion face, its all yellow. By the looks of it I think it's from a cheap chinese knockoff of a Sentai Megazord or something like that.
A new Turtle named after Jack Kirby would actually be pretty neat. Just to throw some comparatively modern artists into the naming scheme to spice things up once in a while. Not TOO modern though, wait for a bit of time to pass to prove their long-term influence on the world.
Picasso, Mondrian, Delaunay, Kandinsky, Matisse, Braque... Anyone from the early-to-mid 20th century would fit the bill at this point. I seem to also remember a really high-quality fancomic with a new turtle named Renoir.
I vaguely remember I had the set of "cat" ones. I mean, there were 4 of them in one package. But there were two identical ones like Leo showed here and two more identical ones for whom I don't remember the appearance. As for the weapons, there were katanas just like these and a pair of sais, maybe something else but I also don't remember.
I honestly like their head sculpts, they kind of remind me of the lion statues outside of east-asian temples. I'd definitely use them for customizations if I got my hands on them.
Well my cat came to me when i called him. But then again, he was kinda part dog, and flying monkey lol(i say that for his nature to jump on backs and doors and swing from door hooks... he was not a normal cat)
These are some weird molds - the faces look like they are based on early iteration of Godzilla, actually - so there is a decent chance these are some weird Frankenstein's monster molds, put together from several other figures, re-molded and modified here and there.
Thank you China... I always wanted to know how TMNT and Thundercats would look like if they ever fell into a tank of ooze together. Those turtles really have dominate genes.
Please tell me that Tortoise Rider plays a totally random eurodance song! :D Oh, by the way, I recognize that lion sword. It's "originally" from an off-brand Transformer.

Yes, probably. The holes in the back make them look like kunai - a kind of ninja throwing knife.
The kunai is a modified hand spade and too bulky to be thrown effectively.
OF COURSE Raphael is the leader of the group - he was transformed from the norm by the nuclear goop!
Raph being the leader actually happened in Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. At least for a while.
