the electrodes we use in the supercapacitors has to be coated with some type of chemicals. These chemicals are chosen in such a way that it contributes to highest capacitance. This can be achieved only when the chosen chemicals are reduced to nanowires or nanorods by using chemical methods like hydrothermal, sonar chemical or solution precipitation method. So, this is how nanotechnology has got its contribution.
