    LeBron James on 11/10/2004 (38/10/3)
    Kevin Durant on 4/16/2008 (42/13/2)
    Victor Wembanyama on 11/2/2023 (38/10/2)
With 38 points tonight, Victor Wembanyama has totaled 103 points in his first five games, joining David Robinson as the only rookies in San Antonio Spurs history to total 100 or more points over their first five games:
    David Robinson - 115 points (1989)
    Victor Wembanyama - 103 points (2023)
    Willie Anderson - 96 points (1988)
Led by Victor Wembanyama’s 38 points and 10 rebounds, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Phoenix Suns, 132-121. Zach Collins added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the Spurs in the victory, while Devin Booker (31 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists) and Kevin Durant (28 points, 6 rebounds) combined for 59 points for the Suns. You could tell Booker expected the Spurs to crumble when the Suns tied it up at 116 all. Wemby simply wouldn't allow it. Incredible stuff. What a player.

lebron eventually went on a stretch of 30 and 20+ point games in his rookie year. Wemby won't do that.

What impressed me more than the 38 points, was his mentality. The Suns were making a run in the 4th, making a come back and equalized. But Wemby stepped up and took over. That is a mindset of a winner. The pressure did not crumble him, instead made him better.

He's got the "it" factor that you simply can't be a true superstar without. The last shot he took (free throw line jumper) was the one that stuck out to me. On the Suns broadcast, they mentioned that Pop was motioning them to take their time. Wemby took that shot and made it with 11 seconds on the shot clock, which is probably a little more time than I imagine Pop wanted them to shoot with, but it's a dagger shot that absolutely seals the game and crushes the Suns' already slim chance of a comeback. That's tangible killer instinct that guys like Kobe and Jordan played with. I don't know if he'll quite get to that level but it's a damn good start.
