As an South African 🇿🇦, I'd go for Ethiopia 🇪🇹. Its clear most Africans will choose them for 1 , they've never been colonised and managed to keep them out and for having such rich culture and historical influence. I mean they have the oldest Bible in the world with all its books. They have tribes that still look like Ancient Egyptians.. They just stand out to me for a lot of things

The West and Europe has it's hands so far down some African leaders butt's to this day that it's rare to have an African country that has never cave in to it it. Economically it should be south Africa, but in History Ethiopia contributed a lot for African Independence and it was the sign of freedom. Ethiopia is a pan African nation. a lot of African nations specially the west Africans have the color "Green, Yellow, Red" on their flag because of Ethiopia.

Its who fought for Africa during independence, history etc. Ethiopia is still the only candidate ,because Ethiopia is the only black African who represented the whole Africa during the league of nation, the only country which never been colonized , the founder of African Union etc. Even if want to see from the Economic perspective Ethiopia still one of among the top 5 in Africa. its funny seeing people Egypt the country doesn't even see themselves as an African.

I don't know if this is for social experiment and educational purpose or not. Anyhow, in this documentary almost all of the interviewee excluded ETHIOPIA, Why??? They say Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana , Egypt and even some say Rwanda. Their main reason is Economic growth achieved by the country they preferred. However, I feel they didn't understand what an African capital City means and its function. For example, some say EGYPT, a country which considers itself as an ARAB country and the headquarter of the "ARAB league" resides. Others say SOUTH AFRICA, a country where apartheid dwelt for centuries and even in the current era xenophobic sentiments prevails. Those who say NIGERIA, only consider the economic achievement that come from sales of petroleum. All these countries lack what ETHIOPIA has, i.e. INDEPENDENCE and COMMITMENT to stand for the cause of PAN AFRICANISM. Moreover, strategic location of ETHIOPIA makes it ideal for intercontinental relationships and cooperation. ETHIOPIA is growing Economically, getting more influential , has second large population in the continent, and is a powerhouse in many aspects. Peace be with you !!

Im from Ethiopia and I say we actually need 3 or 4 more capitals apart from the current diplomatic and political capital i.e. Addis Ababa ET. Addis Ababa remains to be Diplomatic capital, Akra GH political capital, Johannesburg SA economic capital and Cairo EG or Lagos NG sociocultural capital, Cairo EG/Johannesburg SA educational and research capital. If Akra is to be political capital, then Cairo shd be the sociocultural capital. If Johannesburg is to be economic capital Cairo shd be the educational capital. If Cairo is the educational capital then Lagos shall be sociocultural capital. In fact Addis Ababa can also remain political and diplomatic capital. Thanks.
