I'm with Mosse on this Spain team. That game against Costa Rica was the best passing game that I've seen by a women's team on the International level. I loved watching them play. I think their going far.

Spain deserves the win, but you can't use Costa Rica to measure success. Spain has to face stronger opposition to be able to gauge their level. It is too early in the tournament to make claims.

I don’t like the talking by referees. Hand gestures are just as dramatic and universal instead of trying to hear someone, in English, say what the call is. This won’t work as well as most think it will because football is global sport unlike American football that primarily uses this feature of referee announcements in the NFL. This simply will not translate well and we should stick to hand gestures.

But, he forgot his words when our team became champion one more time! How big mouth he was, not big on the field because he always be a loser but big on prediction because he couldn’t lose anything! Norway is just disappointing now, even with all that top tier talent. absolutely wasting the time of one of the best players in the world, CGH.
Canada wont be able to score without converting PKs, if they can even do that
Spain will wilt when they run into teams that can control possession just as much as they do. they wont finish against top defenses. without Mapi and the regular starting keeper, their defense is questionable and is now very vulnerable to counter attacking. Spain has always controlled, they just cant finish, and i expect that when games start to get tougher, and they get frustrated, i see the schism on the team rearing its ugly head between the players who came back and the players who most likely wouldnt be starting if the regular mutineers were there.
Australia without their top threat ran into a team that can park the bus and actually defend pretty well. Matildas will be fine
    gratz to NZ.

Couldn't agree more with David Mosse on Spain.
Barcelona femeni (with a few quality imports, granted) is the best football team on the planet (relatively speaking).
They can make ManChitty men look like Stoke. 'Problem is their imports tend to be up front scoring the goals.
Ironically, this time Spain's problem will be the missing Catalan club players in goal and in defense.
Even if they do get around to scoring goals they are playing under the political handicap of the Real Madrid players that must be shoe-horned in: Ivana, Teresa and Misa with her wooden clogs and fear of leaving the cocoon of her penalty box.
It'll probably be another fun ride and sad ending featuring Ivana or Teresa roadkill.
    (PS:
What a cameo by Reina Alexia XI)
