In in a twist of fate, has brought tourists and boosted the economy of Borja (where this painting is located). So in a way, an old fresco restored terribly created a meme for the ages. Like you, I am a lover of art and history and when I saw this I was pissed off. But knowing the full story...It's kind of funny.
