Loved hearing about your plans for the year! I have a 1st grader, 4 year old preK, and a baby along for the ride this year, too. :) They keep us busy! We did Sonlight Science K last year and had SO much fun. The experiments were a blast and very memorable.
Hi Ashley! I enjoy watching you because you and your kids are one year ahead of us. In ages and in homeschool. I have a 4 year old son, a 2 year old son, and a 7 month old baby girl. We just completed my oldest son's preschool year. He and his younger brother will be turning 5 and 3 in the next month, and we'll be starting their kindergarten year and preschool/prek 3 year, respectively, this fall. We greatly benefit from hearing about y'alls experience with different curriculum! Thanks for sharing!
That's so fun we're just a year ahead! How crazy! I'm so glad sharing our journey is helpful to you guys. Good luck with your new school year coming up! I hope it goes really well :)
We just started explode the code first time homeschooler and we just finished book a. it was great for my prekindergarten aged son, it’s basically been our only phonic program so far and I use it as his handwriting too. Super win here!
Good choices! My oldest will also be 1st grade this year . It's alot! Are you also doing health, art ,and music? We live in NY state so we have to cover those too . My husband is going to do the music subject with him
Thank you! 1st grade really does feel like a lot compared to Kindergarten haha. No, we aren't doing those. Although my son is taking an art class this year.
I agree we love the good and beautiful too ❤ we are level 1 as well this year we are using notgrass too but we are doing Our Star-Spangled Story instead amazing video 😊
This is our first year for explode the code as well. I'm excited for this year. I'm in the same boat. My daughter will be 4 in Sept and we are doing the preschool unit from TGATB and my son is in Kindergarten.
Okay why do people say TGATB is not a good on depth program? I want to maybe switch my daughter to it, but Ives heard it not in depth but it seems really advanced, so idk why people say that.
Do you bind the things you print yourself? Printing a Bible curriculum for my daughter and wasn’t sure if I could bring it somewhere to be bound or if I should invest in a binding system myself
Yes I do! I've debated making a video on how I do it. Let me know if that would be helpful for you. It's definitely an investment but one I feel will pay off in the end.

So fun - we have such similar ages! Oh that's so encouraging to hear about Sonlight science! I just know my boys are going to love it!
I JUST heard about not grass and that was the one I was most interested in / would love to hear your review after y’all try it!
Will definitely be updating how we like it! I'm super excited to start!!

That's so fun! I'm really excited to do it with my boys this year! I can see why it's so popular.
