    We all want great sound, but not all of us have the money to shell out for audiophile-grade speakers. That's where KEF's Q150 Bookshelf Speakers come in. A revamp of the original Q100, the Q150 delivery HiFi sound, that most music lovers can afford.
    The centerpiece of the KEF Q150s are the Uni-Q Driver Array, which is borrowed KEF's much more expensive Blaze speakers. What you're given is a sound with a lot of body, resonance, and plenty of volume without distortion.
    Just which sound signature you prefer depends on personal choice, but KEF's latest addition to the Q-series, the Q150 offer high-grade sound, at a mid-range price.

    I have these, the RP 600-M, and the ELACs. All three are good, but these KEFs are the overall best IMO. It's not by a huge margin, but the driver integration and tone were both a little better on the KEF, as is off axis response.

      I've auditioned the Q350's in store and loved them. The smaller Q150's would be a better fit size wise with my tight listening room. I'd like to hear what you liked more with the Q150's vs. the 350's. How are they working out for you 3 months in?

      Idk what sound improvements have been made to the new KEF series vs. the last gen. but with the KEF Q100 vs Q300 It was widely accepted that the Q100, Q500, and Q200c sounded the best from the line up even though they had the smallest drivers. The thing to understand with the KEF Q series is that they are KEFs budget speakers and as such are designed to appeal to the largest group of people possible. Most novice audio consumers are going to want the biggest speakers they can get, since big speakers equate to louder sounding but not necessarily the best sounding... which is the case with the KEF Q series. One of the biggest differences between KEF Q series and KEFs higher end models like the LS50s, R series, Reference series, Blades etc is that the KEF Q series are the companies only speaker line that has Uni-Q drivers larger then 5 1/4" (some speakers have woofer drivers larger then that size but the uni-q drivers are always 5 1/4" or less except in the case of the Q series.) at the end of the day KEF has perfected there Uni-Q driver to work best in a 5 1/4" size. So even when looking at the Q series it should be understood that the smaller driver speakers are the true flagships from the line... meaning that KEF has spent the most time testing and developing the smaller driver speakers and the larger ones are basically an after thought to just slap in a bigger driver in an attempt to appeal to a larger number of people. So basically if your after sound clarity and precision then the 5 1/4" driver speakers from the KEF Q series are always gonna be the better choice... on the other hand if you don't mind sacrificing some sound quality for overall louder sounding speakers then the Q series speakers with the larger drivers might be best for you.

    • @cmkilcullen8176
      @cmkilcullen8176 4 года назад

      @@jvesik I agree - the 350's are more adaptive. The 150's need the small room "other box", so to speak -or the room being the box holding the box. The 350's are more air--y and can expand in a larger room. If they made a better cabinet for both models, that would have helped a lot.
