I don't think you're over complicating it but imo its deff a 9 with Moria first. Requires way more cards out of hand initially and makes lethal easier if the bonney gives me 3 cards for a 9. But I also would not have played the baby ace right away from hand that quickly, which made the play more telegraphed. Its negligible here probably, but as a habit i would not have. Even if they rested a second moria you have enough don to swing with lead, 3rd moria, luffy, and then ace.
Bonney matchup definitely easier if no searchers you need to kill, and no carrot to stun your stuff. The searchers are almost the most annoying part, as it's such a great way for Bonney to gain adavantage on you.
I think optimal lethal is 9, 9, 10, 10, 10. So moria 9, then other moria getting rested seems more optimal as there is no guarantee the BY has a baby ace in hand to even want to waste attaching don to leader for lethal, then moria 9. THEN baby ace, Luffy 10, ace 10, leader 10. (Either way it's guaranteed with at minimum 5x 9k swings available as 9k needs 3 cards and he has 5 total cards.)
I don’t think you’re overcomplicating the lethal at the end. I wouldn’t have even done Ace first since I’m pretty sure all the Morias were enough by themselves and leader, and do Ace at the end if necessary but with so little hand one blocker and one life it was easy lethal.

Bonney found only 1 Doffy and had like 2 shanks in hand that were useless while the BY found 3 geckos easy match for BY
