Dang.. I know where you are.. :). I was there a few weeks ago with my kids. but the shoreline was covered with people crabbing from the shore. I'll watch for you next time I'm out there.
Very nice. I tried to go out to pacifica pier thursday (2 hour drive for me) and had no luck whatsoever, only a few crabs being caught all the way out at the end of the pier, and about 100 people trying to get crabs and getting nothing. I have another spot I may try on tuesday that is an even longer drive for me.
whats your preferred line length? I'm on a 25' boat, going to start crabbing this year. What lead line legnth you recommend with those promar traps, and preferred depths from a boat?
Congratulations, Adam on a great catch. But please stay safe. There's a reason why there's no one else out there. Thank you for your video. I especially love crabs.
Those rough waters are definitely a huge hazard to kayakers. If you think about it, we are sitting on a tiny piece of plastic, almost completely vulnerable to the ocean conditions.
He's fine. These kayaks are amazingly stable. Your center of gravity is down really low and you body naturally shifts to keep you balanced as the waves pass under you. Sit on tops are also really hard to sink. There were no breakers or white caps either so he's not even getting wet. Just looks pukey. I remember one day about 5 years ago I launched out of half moon bay on season opener into 9 foot swells with hundreds of boats and other kayakers in dense fog. Now that was a dangerous shit show.
Adam, I am extremely blessed in that I don’t get seasick. I have friends who swear by eating Ginger and the drug Scopace. I appreciate your toughness in gutting it out.
Most of my dive buddies get seasick and throw up every dive, I (like you) can't imagine how bad that would feel and give them kudos for their toughness too.
Thanks for the content, I got several extension cord organizers for the pot rope and there is no going back, easy outs easy in :) just wrap the line around the line reel and attach the float to the loop you made. Good luck out there:)
Dude, I was waiting for you to hurl. Tough when you’re motion sick but damn you’re a trooper. And the landing, thought it might end in a yard sale. Thanks bud, enjoyed it
having been to Big Sur numerous times, landing part will get your heart racing every single time.. for us viewers that's what i want to see more, the launch and landing part.. =)
Up in BC, the main difference between red rock and dungy, is the taste of the meat (red rock are sweeter), hardness of shell, and thus ease of getting the meat out. You can find some giant red rocks too because no one keeps em
Adam you are a devoted fisher!!! Is that the same beach where you and Nick had near beach swamps? It's amazing how tough you are in sea sickness in most all times. Why do you think it occurs only on a few occasions? I have never, ever experienced it in about 75 years of ocean fishing and maybe 6000 hours of spinning around in Super Cub aircraft and helicopters locating, collaring and radio tracking black bear and moose in AK? Once in a "HOT" afternoon near Talkeetna, AK after spinning around, tracking and locating moose for 5 hours, I felt something different but nothing ever happened. I never, ever needed "a bag" in aircraft, skiff or boat. Some use..BONINE: 1/2 before, 1 morning of. Other more potientent stuff may put you in sleep mode and miss the day
Man great tip about dropping the buoy first letting the line out then putting on the harness to avoid tangles I’ve made that mistake before and my buoy almost went under…also fresh ginger root chew at first sign of sickness
Great effort and congrats on the catch, honestly was getting a bit seasick just watching this. You are a true man of the sea, would love to get a lesson if you offer them.
Nothing against fishermen’s life but I like your content a lot more and you’re consistency, it’s a different kind of channel. I’m blown away and can’t understand why you only have almost 90k subs and he has over a mill .
I don’t want this to come off as a negative comment I purely just want to understand. How are you able to crab the recreational season with a commercial license from a commercial vessel with recreational size restrictions? Again not hating I really just want to know
Nice limit! I thought you were a goner when your kayak went sideways to the waves. That spot is hit/miss - I almost flipped on my launch once there. Last year I fished that area with Nick and got a little sick. Also ran into you there last year. See ya around!
Way to hang in there Adam. Unlike me I thought you had an iron belly. I just keep fishing like you did and drink a lot of water to try to settle my stomach.👍Oh, and that was a great limit of Dunge's
Glad i dont battle the surf too much by me. Its good to be ready to get soaked from the waist down ive found :) folks that first start out expect to be dry all day like theyre on a big boat.
To get to this exact spot by boat would take a drive down to the boat ramp then around an hour+ boat ride on average to the spot. Then an hour+ boat ride back. Why would anyone want to do that when you could just boat launch? Why would anyone want to pay maintenance, registration fees, and deal with the hassle of cleaning/towing a large boat when you could just car top? Most boat owners I know barely use their boat as much as kayakers use their kayak.
was out opening day of crab season north of pt reyes, soaked the pots for 2 hours and got my limit some of the biggest crab ive gotten and great fishing and why throw the rock crab back? you can have 35 rock crab in addition to dungeness not as good as dungeness but better then nothinig and throw the females back
Yep you need to go ahead and holla at yo boy Fisherman’s life and cop that boat from him or something cuz man it’s getting dangerous out there and keep these videos going we depend on your videos especially for daddy day care men like me lol
Hi Adam I watch all your videos and I love your Channel for seasickness green Granny Smith apples bring a couple out with you even if you don't have the ability to chew and swallow just chew and suck the juice out and it cutes sickness believe it or not
I’ll just leave this right here….Today you rocked.
Appreciate it!
Enjoy your insight and sharing of your crabbing knowledge
And that’s why he is Die Hard fishing! Cheeehoooo
what's best for crabbing, you do fishing along the way and camping out with family having the delicious crabs for dinner.
19:40 lol bro’s becoming Jacob Knowles
LOL as soon as you picked up the buoy the seagulls started
They know when the food is coming!

Nice going!
Nice catch. That was sketchy
You need to come out to the PNW and chase some Steelhead!
I’m hoping to do a trip up there this season!
Crabby patties on the menu! 😘
nice!!
The other best advice...HOLD ON TO YOUR CRAB BAG!!!
Have you had any white shark encounters?

How far out were you and how deep ? And great catch !
Excellent VIDEO 😊.

Seasickness is no fun!!! I’m glad I can avoid the feeling most days out on the water
Nice haul. Glad you went for it with a quick limit. Was hoping to watch you launch but had to go work. Thanks for posting!
I'm getting seasick watching this video

This is one of my favorite videos of yours . 🤮🚣
Thanks! More crabbing content on the way!

What is the diameter of the rope you use? Also, what depth was the last hoop at?

That’s a good idea!
Greetings Adam. Great limit fishing Dungeness crab!
Hope you, your family and friends are doing well and take care!
Thanks! You too!
Right on Adam!! Awesome limits, and pretty quickly too. Super scary, that landing, thought for sure that you flipped. Enjoy your deeelicious feast.
Thanks! I too was surprised I came out of that one unscathed😁
Fantastic Adam! Totally look up to you as a an awesome devoted fisher!

I've definitely had yard sales on calmer days haha
Thanks for joining me on the journey!
Well done Adam lots of nice crabs diehard fishing at it’s at its best
Right on Adam. Been there and its dangerous.
having been to Big Sur numerous times, landing part will get your heart racing every single time.. for us viewers that's what i want to see more, the launch and landing part.. =)
I’ll try to include it more in future videos!
Hats off to you for sticking it out. Glad you made it back safe and sound.
Well done man that looks amazing
What’s the pricing n the crab?
whole turkey this year?
Coming soon!
That was a sporty landing! Nice crab haul. Try the shock-watch (Emeterm) for seasickness. I never hit the ocean w/ out it.
Thanks for the suggestion, I don’t normally get sick but I’ll check that one out for the next rough day
Thanks for the education. Thanks for the entertainment.
how do you find fishing spots without being massacred by sea lions? That is almost impossible in So Cal.
They aren’t as much of an issue in the Bay Area, maybe we don’t have as many as you guy do down south
Great job Adam, met you that morning while I was chasing striper. That was an intense launch +. Glad it was a safe trip and good catch 👍 Dean
Always great respect for the ocean!
Great haul man
that ride in was nice -- I was grippin the seat watching!

I know that beach well and have flipped on the landing. That was a sketchy day to land there.
Yep, any day could be your day! Glad this one wasn’t mine!
Take a couple of ginger capsules befor you go out. It helps.
Die Hard personified! 💪👍🏼

Man great tip about dropping the buoy first letting the line out then putting on the harness to avoid tangles I’ve made that mistake before and my buoy almost went under…also fresh ginger root chew at first sign of sickness
It would totally suck to drop the trap with the buoy not fully free hahaha
Yeah hope it helps on your next crabbing adventure!
Nice job on the limit! That ending was sketchy! ☠💀☠
We survived!
Damn it looks rough landing at rockaway lol
Awesome Video Brother!🤙
Great landing, Adam
Great effort and congrats on the catch, honestly was getting a bit seasick just watching this. You are a true man of the sea, would love to get a lesson if you offer them.
Awesome effort!!! It would be a shorter hour long soak if you were able target rockcod.
Yeah, hopefully we can do that next season!
Nothing against fishermen’s life but I like your content a lot more and you’re consistency, it’s a different kind of channel. I’m blown away and can’t understand why you only have almost 90k subs and he has over a mill .
Probably because he started a really long time ago
Also, for some reason, people really like catch n cooks, on average they get a LOT more traffic
Appreciate the kind words!
Both of these guys rock tho! Hope to meet them some day!
@@MrSquarepants3I agree they’re both definitely living the life of fishermen
I don’t want this to come off as a negative comment I purely just want to understand. How are you able to crab the recreational season with a commercial license from a commercial vessel with recreational size restrictions? Again not hating I really just want to know
As far as I know, recreational crabbing is ok from a commercial vessel as long as you aren’t doing any commercial fishing on that particular day
Nice limit! I thought you were a goner when your kayak went sideways to the waves. That spot is hit/miss - I almost flipped on my launch once there. Last year I fished that area with Nick and got a little sick. Also ran into you there last year. See ya around!

Hi Adam, does the tide affect your catch rate ie incoming, outgoing, slack?

Atta landing! Tanks fo' da vid. Fat limit. See ya' on da wattah'! Eddie
How come you have that yellow 4line connected to the ring? Isn't that used to connect to the ring directly?
Those are what a use for clip my ropes to my crab cages but I use the same ropes for the hoop nets so that’s why they are there
I was thinking about heading over to rockaway beach to rockfish. How has it been down there?
Rockfish season is closed
Nice, Job how big were those waves? What were the conditions?
Pretty big! Some were overhead for sure!
Greetings Adam!
Hi 👋
Nice video. What is the ring size for your crab net
Its a Promar hoop net, they come in 2 sizes
I believe I have the smaller size.
Dramamine ... but you have to take it 1 hour before you go out... nice crab!!!!!!
theres no 1 cure fits all.
What beach are you fishing at? Half Moon bay or san francisco
This is Bodega Bay :)
Hey bud when is peak shark season/activity around your neck of woods and is there any concerns with they
Shark season is year round in NorCal. On a kayak you don't have to worry much.
Sharks are always around!
What type of compass you use to track your fish and crab traps?
You can use any fish finder with GPS
I use either my fish finder or an app on my phone called “navionics”
ok
On your phone.

how do you not blow chunks in that bumpy mess

How many times have I told you that you need a boat. Being where it is that you live, you should be able to afford a damn boat.

What impresses me most is you not playing tug o war to get the crab outta the net😂
I try to be quick so I can get them before they grab on to the net
The older you get ,the more dangerous it is!
You need a little more room, buddy...
