The “Guitar Hero Walmart” videos got me emotional, felt like going back in time & I’ll always miss that era. Wonderful time for Rhythm Game fans with the prototypes, too :3
All future guitar controller releases need to stick to the five-fret layout. We need to treat our controllers the same way the Smash community reveres the GameCube controller. Nintendo revived the GameCube controller for the Wii U and Switch solely for the purpose of playing Smash Bros. That's what we should be aiming for, starting with the Riffmaster.

As a proud Wii owner, I can confirm that the Wii never got a Rock Band 1 export, or a Lego Rock Band export!
I've modded my Wii and downloaded a bunch of DLC (I have the full 699 song setlist in Warriors of Rock on a 32GB SD card lmao)
Also as far as I'm aware, because the Wii lacked a proper account system, you could download and install fake licenses and Harmonix would just let you download any song because you tricked them into thinking you already bought it.
You guys really timed starting this podcast at a great time. So much cool stuff happening in this genre/community.
Shout out to ATOUT who was, in the Rock Band 2 era, the top-scoring band across all the platforms.
Also confirming as a former Wii player, that there wasn't Rock Band 1 export on the Wii. I believe only Rock Band 2 (to RB3) and Green Day were the only ones with exports.

How does activating overdrive "clear notes"? Can someone explain that to me. Does that mean it hit the notes under overdrive that you're activating it on?
Pretty much. When you press the Overdrive button to activate it in Festival, it also automatically plays any notes passing the strikeline at that point.
