I’m 74 in Ocala, Florida been here 22 years before that Connecticut and vacation South Florida and the keys for 30 years in the summer. Everything you say is so Florida! love flip phone activate.!!!
It is difficult for salty ppl to get salty with me lol. I love self-deprecating humor, and if someone says something salty, well i just join them in making fun of me until they laugh. If they don't laugh, it's their turn for me to dish it out back to them.
I love watching you. I have lived in Florida for 65 years and just moved into an over 55 community with lots of snow birds. You are right on the money with all your comments
Wicks, Great stuff. I was 8 in 1964. I remember Dora which made land near Jax Beach. Lauderdale got hit by Cleo about two weeks earlier. My first real memory of Hurricanes. I lived through Donna in 1960 but I must of slept through it . I remember the damage from Donna because trees were downed for years. I went outside in the eye of Cleo awesome green sky's. We picked up oranges in the groves in Davie for a penny a piece Grapefruit were ,2 cents. We built forts in the fallen trees . Then Dora was coming but went up North. My parents were nervous because of What Donna had done to the entire state. By 1980 me and a few friends had been chasing hurricanes to surf from about 1974. When I was 16 ended up in Cape Hatteras stranded and my parents just knew I went Surfing. We jen I told my parents I was stuck in Hatteras with no money and no ride home. My dad told me to pawn my board and find my way to a bus stop. At 16. Kids today are so babied. I got 35 dollars for my 135.00 surfboard.y mom had to pay about 25 more dollars to get me home. Hurricane David was supposed to hit Broward county. We partied on the strip at the Candy store. Realized It hit the Gulf stream liked that warm water decided to head north. At 6 am my boys woke my as s up off we went Manalapan inlet, now called Boynton inlet was going off. We got 12 foot face surf. Air drops all morning till the wind shifted chased David up to New Smyrna Beach. Big time fun. If you ever want to go fishing for a Bullsharks or some other great fish. Hit me up here bring your phone to activate and spend a day here in Sebastian. There was even a crocodile on our beach here couple years back. I've been seeing a few Pink Flamingos over here since Hurricane Ian came your way..Plenty of dolphins and manatees. We prefer fishing rods here but the Tarpon our in the surf here as I type. Caught a couple last week.
Hi from Miami, Fl.. ive lived here all my life and Hurricanes is like another day for us.. ive dealt with Hurricane Andrew 🌀 in 1992 .. we ain't scared of the storms 🤣 we sleep better when it rains, and we take out our kayaks when it floods.. the most iguanas you'll find is in Keybiscayne, they have an infestation. We only get 4 months of actual beach season, since we do get man of war/ jelly fish, we did have a white shark do a visit but left quickly when it met my Cuban neighbors. Come on down, see it for yourself. 😅🎉
I'm subscribed and didn't get an alert you were live! I'm in Ohio but my father was from Clearwater. We went every summer for vacation and you speak nothing but facts!! You make me think of the good times when my Dad was still here, thank you!! Love and Blessings!! 🙏🏽❤️
Hi from AZ! I used to live just outside of Sarasota back in the 1980’s when I was young and dumb and barely survived Florida LOL❤ Loved living there and both my girls were born there 😊. I look so forward to your videos, you always make me giggle 😂😂😂😂
You definitely have skills in responding to the masses there was a lot you covered while answering and acknowledging most other youtubers could not even do half as much.
I'm in the panhandle. I went through Opal and lived due north of hwy 98 between destiny and fort walton. Northside of choctawhatchee Bay. We went to the shore and watched through binoculars as the once 75 feet high sand dunes just disappeared. But on another su jet. You ever had to deal with deer flies? They are worse than dig flies or horse flies. Deer flies bombard you over and over biting each hit like taking jabs from the flasj
Wicks planning a move from NJ to FL. Anything I should know besides the forget your blinker fluid as turn signals are not for Floridians. And Publix is boss.
Dayum! When I see homes built ON the sand I know your insurance needs are expensive. Anyone on a beach or close should be on stilts. When I saw hurricanes I grew up in and saw the devastation of the aftermath. New ones built serious concrete minimum 20 ft depth with poles inside VERY strong. 🙏🏻🤔❤️forgot to state-glad you’re alive to tell the story! Hope if you rebuilt its new technology to help. 🙏🏻😉❤️
@@lindabuck2777 We lived in the middle of town. Ike caused a freak storm surge in Sabine Lake that flooded our entire town. It had never happened before. We are not on the coast where houses need to be on stilts but the regulations were changed and now you are required to build up the land or raise your house for new built homes. Many people did not have flood insurance because we were not on a flood plain. That has changed also. We had flood insurance. Everyone should have flood insurance no matter where you live. Many things can cause freak floods so it’s worth the money.
Man you are great why would anybody hate on you? Dang what a waste of life for the haters. Can you let me know if Bert's in Matalache is gonna reopen? I used to live on Pine Island.
Suburb of Sarasota in Lakewood Ranch area, I parked near 😮 a little pond. When I went to open my car door a alligator was under my car. It was removed by friends and released in the country🐊.😮

Cheers🙏🏻❤️😎ps the white fuzzy caterpillar lookin thing IS highly poisonous and can kill if you have allergies, and we called them Asps! Don’t touch!
So far I have road out direct hits from three huricanes. Erin (relatively small, but direct hit), Ivan which was a mobster, and Sally. While Sally wasnt that striyng, it parked over us for about 20 hours so the damage was just as bad.
Made blackberry milkshakes last week. My child said it tasted like the McD's Grimace Shake. Picked more blackberries yesterday. They aren't real small, or real big, they are almost medium-sized.
You are a young whiper snapper! I'm 71!
