Whenever you try to cheat death, fate has an undesirable consequence to pay. It might not be today, maybe not even tomorrow, but eventually this ploy will come back to haunt the perpetrators.
I think best practice is to always make a reference post in the group before a trade. Helps to build confidence in both parties and makes it public knowledge that a trade is going down. Also, I will offer F&F sometimes if I've done previous business or have chatted more than once with someone that seems trustworthy, but there is a ceiling on how much I'll send using F&F. Like you guys said, it is just about knowing how to make smart choices based on the vibe and knowledge you have about the other party. If the other person is an admin/mod of a group or has a public image to uphold in the community, then most people aren't willing to throw away their street cred by scamming for $30. This was a great video, dudes!
Yikes, they faking a death thing is not new but like the whole " my husband passed" i see how a few people fell for that and maybe kf i had Facebook i probably wouldve felt bad too, hopefully all those people got their money back
Yeah for the most part people in the groups are pretty helpful so it was pretty normal to see people wanting to help out but to use that to steal people's money was pretty low.
We started as kids, which I guess everyone did. Then stopped for a while and pulled out the old collection and found a group on Facebook that we could talk about the figures we used to get and see the new one out today. From there it was a buying frenzy.
@@thestrongcollectorsmany forget the strategy of sending the figures to RUclips for unboxing, which supported Artic figure although one of those RUclipsr made a video he never apologized since he was one of many to advertise
David of Open by Chance on RUclips said back in late 2020 early 2021 stay away from those Facebook Sellers! You’ll most likely get scammed! Or folks act very funny when you ask, well where is my figure!
I'd say that's some bad advise honestly. Yeah there's some risk but I'd say at least 50% of both our collection are from buying in Facebook groups, and 100% of our collection is funded by selling on Facebook.
That’s so crazy to me. If your gonna scam someone or especially a group of people maybe faking your own death isn’t the way to go 😂. It’ll always bite you in the ass

Karma's gonna get them.
@@thestrongcollectors Love the new thumbnails guys!
Thank you. I try to get a little better with something each episode. Less long winded outros, more fun intros, better thumbnails.
I was doomscrolling through a meme page when I heard "My husband died" and what a wild point to come back to
Seems like it's not the most common but not the only time it's happened.

Thank you! It seems like every week someone in the groups is getting scammed. We hope this helps prevent at least some of that.

Another unfortunate side effect of modern day toy collecting along with the scalpers.Luckily I have no desire for social media other than RUclips
If it wasn't for Facebook, we would have a fraction or maybe none of the collection we have today.
I’ve had most of my collection before Facebook was a thing @@thestrongcollectors

Collecting toys has always been a solo sport for me @@thestrongcollectors

Right?! Who does something like that? And for toys no less.
I've talked to Todd McFarlane bro.
haha that counts as a reference right?
