Im a professional private Chef that has been think about how to make students living alot more convenient basically less stress and more fun. Do you maybe know who i could contact or where i could advertise about providing pre made home cooked dinners for students in self cateting rez? My kitchen is based in newlands and my thoughts are to deliver healthy meals just like uber and Mr delivery. Hope to hear from you
Hi there! 😊 Thank you for checking out my video. I'm not sure who you can contact but you can advertise at the reses. So you'd just have to go to each res and leave a few flyers and then the house committee will just have to sign it off and then they can place it around the house or by the entrance etc. I hope this help 😊

I can't comment specifically on the vegetarian option because I wasn't on that meal plan but I had a friend who would sometimes try and cheat the system so she could get the vegetarian option as opposed to the normal option so I guess it must be pretty good then 😅 But in general, I would say anything between 6-8, depending on the day - and mainly because you just get bored of eating the same thing all the time.

You can. Also meal vouchers are virtual now. It works with an app. So you can use your voucher at any place at upper by scanning their QR code, except for the book store or something

New sub here! Doesn't UCT have a system where you swipe your student card for meals? That would work better so that they don't charge you for a meal you didn't even eat.
Hey! Thank you for subcribing and checking out my video 😊 You do get a meal card at the dinning hall but it's separate from your student card and remains in the dinning hall all semester.
They scan student cards too (since late last year) as a form of counting who came to eat and so people can't get food more than once. But you still get charged for the meal to my knowledge. You missed the meal, they provided it so🥴...

I couldn't find anything specific for self-catering but it's usually less because there's no meal costs involved. Hope this helped 😊

If you're on full NSFAS, they will pay for your tuition, accommodation and food - this will go directly to the university (for catering res). They will also give you money at the beginning of the year for textbooks and no allowance. For self-catering res they will pay tuition, accommodation and books. They will give you money every month for food. Hope this helps.
