Just came here to say that I listened to this interview on Spotify, and the interviewer was painful to listen to, he came across very insecure and awkward. Vince Vaughn was a gentleman the entire time and very thoughtful and insightful. I’d love to see his new work.
This made me really love Vince Vaughn. He's so thoughtful, and it's clear that he is engaged and wants to learn things. He also sounds like a great, supportive parent!
He married a Canadian real estate agent after dating celebrities like Jennifer Aniston he probably is a great family man he's really talented I have always liked him he deserves a good role imo he was in true detective 2 also he's not just some clown.
I wasn't expecting an interview with Vince Vaughn to move me as much as this interview did. He's such a kind, thoughtful, introspective man. I think I love him even more.
Where did they find this interviewer? He was the absolute worst. He was trying to bait Vince into a political discussion and controversy. What a scumbag. Vince is such a good person. It's a podcast, have a conversation. Not a shakedown. He had an agenda and wanted Vince to come across as a bad dude.
This interview is a good reason why the times has really lost its way. It wasn’t the worst thing ever there was a moment or two but so much of it was blahhhh
Completely agree! The interviewer is trying so hard and missing the mark and Vince is a true hero by being cool. So many people prob would have lost it with him. The interviews miss the point and mark.
Really awful interviewer. Unskilled, provocative in all the wrong ways, sheepish, and insecure. Not surprisingly, Vince handled it well as he's a class act. I fear for the future of David Marchesa's career as an interviewer-not to mention as a father and evolved person! Yikes!
Terrible interviewer! Let the man be who he is instead of forcing him to “drill down.” That’s your job! Ask better questions and you will get a better answer. Truly amateur and agonizing to listen to.
I would have stopped going deep as soon as he picked a Stephen King novel. I'm sure he's got a million fun anecdotes. Like Tom Hanks. He's hilarious, but not deep.
I think the interviewer went in with the wrong expectations of Vince. Personally I had a boyfriend decades ago similar tall handsome deadpan humour like that it's thrilling but uncertain at times a personality like his.
@annalisavajda252 My gf suffers me the same way. I put her through a lot with my jokes, attitude and candor, but she's enamoured with me all the same. I'm a lucky guy.
Oh these commenters calling out the interviewer completely miss the point. This was a confronting and emotional conversation. Vaughan was testy and evasive, and the interviewer cracked him......we felt him working the subject out in real time, and he took us on that journey. A conversation takes two, and no other two would've given us something just this beautiful.
Enjoyed the interview. Confused by the notion from the interviewer that people don't change, even if they may have a set of core principles, we would probably all be dead by 40 if we didn't change. Vince acknowledging that fact is one reason his career continues where others fade.
Why does this guy have his own show? Horrible interviewer. Simply could not shift from his view that Vince Vaughn was a drunk frat bro. So instead he tries to paint him in that very specific corner.
Insightful answers and respectful conversation from Vince. Kudos to him because I find the interviewers style to be like a toddler demanding what they want from a subservient parent. Not once does David so much as hint at asking permission of V.V., and he handles that with much grace while offering honest answers to some abrupt and downright impatient questions (read demands).
Oh… you are touching a wound Vince . Thank you for that…vulnerability is rough to equalize among people on a sociology level… we have to look at how that presents for a generation of people for multiple generations of people starting with millennials and working their way down.
Nick Van Owen : You seem like you have a shred of common sense, what the hell are you doing here? Roland Tembo : Somewhere on this island is the greatest predator there ever lived. The second greatest predator must take him down. [grins] Nick Van Owen : [referring to Roland's gun] You gonna use that? Roland Tembo : If he doesn't surrender, yes. Nick Van Owen : Let me see it for a second. Roland Tembo : [pulls his gun away] Nope. Nick Van Owen : [chuckles] The animal exists on the uh, planet for the first time in tens of millions of years and the only way you can express yourself is to kill it. Roland Tembo : Remember that chap about twenty years ago? I forget his name. Climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. When they asked him, they said why did you go up there to die? He said I didn't, I went up there to live.
Saw this on Spotify thinking it’d be a great listen, but oh no. This interviewer made this unbearable. Had this on before I went to sleep and this made do the exact opposite keeping me awake with the amount of cringe
Well five minutes in he's talking bout myths and the urge to kill your parents don't forget he played Norman Bates in Psycho too he has range he's dark.
This interviewer is so bad! who hired this guy?! He comes off very rude, especially when he's like "don't say everything again you're killing me here!" He really needs to work on his skills, I'm not the only one who commented this same sentiment. He does not come off as warm or friendly in any way and also cut him off a few times which was so grating to listen to, it really ruined the interview. Vince is very polite and generous despite the horrible interviewer, love him!

Feelings completely the same. The interviewer is trying to hard and judgemental

Vince Vaughan is a good dude.
One of the realist men in Hollywood.
Hope to see much more of him.

This interviewer was abysmal. Sheesh!
Hey, you leave the co-executive vp's Gen-Z nephew alone!
This interview is a good reason why the times has really lost its way. It wasn’t the worst thing ever there was a moment or two but so much of it was blahhhh
Geez, don't throw a tantrum
Completely agree! The interviewer is trying so hard and missing the mark and Vince is a true hero by being cool. So many people prob would have lost it with him. The interviews miss the point and mark.
Vince is so polite to such an irritating and rude interviewer

if you're not a libertarian than I agree with you.

This was a fascinating conflict to observe between what these two individuals wanted from this conversation.
He disarms the hell out of you. What a guy.

Such a needy interviewer. Just have a conversation.
Interviewer was absolutely awkward and weird
Vince kept it positive whole time
Terrible interviewer - I took a class called the art of the interview at UCLA and this guy could have benefitted from it 😮
Honest and open interview. I love Vince Vaughn.

Very good listen. Always great to VV in things. Think he's underrated.

'From the New York Times'.. what'd you expect, knowing Vince Vaughn is a conservative
Fun interview. He seems like a really principled guy

I guess there's a reason the interviewer hardly put his name on this trash. V V sounds great.
Typical arrogance from the leftist NYT. This interviewer is arrogant, condescending and an ego maniac. Vaughn handled him perfectly.

This interview was marvelously fresh and open and fun. Thank you.
Was this published at 1.3x?
Comments make me wanna steer clear from this interviewer.
Fantastic. Thank you.

Best Vince Vaughn interview ever! 🎭

This interviewer!!!! I don’t like to talk smack but it’s so annoying! I
Vince Vaughn would get my vote if he ran for president
He is just a tired old man now.
Hes a based MFer and he always has been, he's just a little older now.
