- Join us as we head to Gardaland in Italy in our day one vlog from the park! We share a mix of on and off ride footage from various different rides across the park along with sharing our reviews. We also check out all of the different changes at the park since our last visit which was for the opening day of Oblivion: The Black Hole in 2015.
This vlog also features a variety of off ride footage from Raptor, Blue Tornado, Fuga da Atlantide and many more of the major rides at the park.

Ramses is another beautiful ride destroyed by Merlin. It was a dark ride called "la valle dei re". You can find some old pov on youtube
I was on that ride when we were in Italy for vacation!! Must have been like 2007 or so

1:20:12 The lore behind the mad house is that there is a evil mage spirit (the big face you can see while you are in the elevator) that is occupying the house of Prezzemolo (the tree). In the pre show Prezzemolo explain to the guests that he can feel someone is in his house because strange things are occuring , like the clock going crazy or the light going out for no reason and then the guests enter the ride and the mage show the guests that he is the one that owns that house flipping all the thing upside down and stuff...

Oh my god, the new I Corsari looks stunning! I loved this ride so much when we rode it back in 2015, I thought it was a hidden gem. So good to see they made it even better instead of merlinesque neglect!

I Corsari = The Corsairs (bucaneers) :) Then again they both sound similar so it shouldn't be hard to figure out!
P.S: Since you guys looked quite confused afte riding Magic House, here's the plot for it: Prezzy (dragon) finds a secret cave under his tree and decides to move down there, though according to him, all of his friends have quite strong reservations about that place. They think it's haunted by the sorcerer who used to live there before, but Prezzy refuses to give in to such silly superstitions and proceeds showing you around, until the ghost of the Sorcerer (same creepy guy from the elevator) appears and knocks Prezzy unconscious. He then takes the reins of the tour and haunts the room in the next scene. Then, while exiting the ride, you'll hear Prezzy's voice commenting he's had the weirdest dream. :)

Yea but fantasy kingdom was built first than the area at portaventura, and they was projected both by the same italian engenieer

40:53 before the Merlin's rehab this attraction (La Valle dei Re) was incredible. Now it's simply disgusting.

19:43 cant believe blue tornado has 3 trains and our very own infusion runs 2 trains but when I went to alton towers on the 29th March 2019 th13teen ran a 3 train service with a 10 min queue
Well infusion only has 2 trains so it would be impossible to run it on 3
It’s crazy how much this park looks like different parks all mashed into one, Portaventura, Alton towers, paultons etc. And by the feel of the park, apart from how well kept it is, you can deffo tell it’s merlin. Thanks again Shawn for a great video

The "Corsari" were a different kind of pirates, actually I don't know if are the same thing, but could be translated as "The Buccaneers".

I remember going here at the end of 2016. Such a great park with some brill rides and the Italian weather is always a plus. Feels strange not walking into a merlin park in the rain though...
Last i were here was in 2013 and I was 9 years old and I rode all the thrilling coasters like Raptor, Magic Mountain, Blue Tornado and Sequia Adventure
Gardaland looks absolutely beautiful. Except Sequiola Adventure.
You cannot miss Kit superjet at movieland next time you go, the best ride in the park in my opinion!

I did Shaman with VR. Was my first (and only) VR coaster. They managed the queues well by getting tickets to come back during the park. Glad it went though!
Great vlog as always! Here some fun facts for you:
- "I Corsari" means "the Corsairs", the letter "I" is the article and the Corsairs (I don't know if this is a correct translation) were pirates who were allowed by a country to attack other countries' ships.
- The Magic House storyline is actually pretty scary: an evil wizard takes over Prezzemolo's house, that's why there are happy moments in contrast with darker ones.
- I think it's better to visit Movieland next year, as it will open a new space-themed attraction.
VR stands for (on roller coasters) Virtually Rubbish

Maybe parks stop spending money for up keep on props and nice theming elements because the GP tears it up... enthusiasts are the only ones who REALLY appreciate it... awesome vid !
Hi shawn, you have to search on YT "la valle dei re, Gardaland" it was the old dark ride that now is the shooting ride called "Ramses". It was stunning. They completely ruined it.

The tent from oblivion the black hole uses to be an horror house with live acors but they removed iT

talking about 'happy theming' I was thinking that for a kids, in this park they (or any park really) should do like a sweetie land with sweets and chocolate gift shops and like candy floss balloon kinda ride and you know just kiddy stuff to do with sweet treats. a park may have done that already but it's just something I would've really liked as a young kid
You can actually find a lot of what you described in fantasy kingdom, there's a whole ride themed after sweets!

Little fun fact: the pirate's voice in the "Corsari" ride is the Italian voice of Captain Barbossa of Pirates of the Carribbeans.
Some traslations from an Italian fan of yours:
1) "Prezzemolo", the mascotte's name actually means "parsley" in english
2) "Fuga da Atlantide" means "Flight from Altantis" or something like that
3) "I Corsari" means "The Pirates/corsairs"

Funny how most "American" themed entertainment shows at the European theme parks are usually either country or wild west themed.
What a great park! Shame that Merlin doesn't keep standards up in the UK! Perhaps their opinion is that competition in the UK isn't the same as competition in Europe, so they can get away with lesser maintenance. Brilliant vlog and great to see Martin too. :) Take care mate and keep up the great work!

Thank you for this video. I remember going to this park every year when I was a child (40 years ago). Back in those times they used to have real horses to go around the far west town. It was a family run park. Great memories I got of Gardaland. It is very interesting to see how much as changed. Thank you :)

Went last year the park is AMAZING rides for all different ages as well as ones for those who love adrenaline rushes. By far the best definitely recommend you visit !!

I believe (seeing the ride) Shaman is the same layout as Python, but Python did get a new track without a recalculated layout. The trains are now the same style I believe. Didn’t know there was a second Python!
