Hands down the greatest and best produced introduction to backgammon that I have seen so far! So much information packed in such a short time. I really hope that they will release more videos in the future.
I'm only one minute into the video, but that's enough time for me to pause it, and compliment the person(s) that created it. Very, very nice and very professionally done!!! Good work! I like it already! Now, back to the video...
Only one criticism, a very minor one. I don't believe it was mentioned that if a player rolls the dice and can't play BOTH numbers on the die, but can play ONE of them, it's the HIGHER number that must be played. Other than that, good work.
@@MrEdwardCollins That is true Edward! That is a rule. Backgammon Galaxy has that rule implemented already in the software, so a user is simply not allowed to do it. But if a user doesn't know that rule, I admit, that might cause some confusion.
Johnny Guitar hi! You just need to create an account and log in, then you can see all the games going on. It is a browser app, so you can play from all devices. You don’t need to download from android or apple store. Best regards, Marc
WOW THE BEST explaination Ive ever seen onthe into and how to play backgammon as well as the basic strategies. AMAZING WORK> perfect graphics and al lunder 10 mins! Oscar/Emmy worthy! :) well done to all involved here
I am french and learn backgammon in a park where i was playing chess and i saw backgammon players. I discussed with a player and i learned that the game has a lot of strategy. I played my first games yesterday, i am sure i will play this game until i am died, its seems to be a great game. Thank you for your videos, it helps me.
agree with other comments here very impressive introduction to the game. my only criticism is that the astronauts voice is hard to understand, other than that brilliant
I'm totally new to backgammon, having just played some games this week on my phone against AI to start learning the rules. Really loved this video, thank you.
I agree, that that's the most commonly used term in backgammon communities. However, we have to come up with a better term other than "made point" for a made point. And a lot of people in Denmark call it an anchor, regardless of which point it is, so we adopted that term on Backgammon Galaxy. :)
@@BackgammonGalaxy You use the term "making an anchor in his home board", but it's not clear to me how, as you claim, that is "better" or easier than saying "making a point in his home board". Internationally "anchor" is used to differentiate between home or other attacking points, and defensive obstacles or safety points in the opponents board, or his bar-point. Anchor always refers to holding-games or back-games. But good video!
We are planning on working on a native app in 2020... But the game is already great in android and iOS, when you play straight from the browser. We specifically chose a technology, that would make this possible, without losing any game experience.
Is there a video on using the Backgammon Galaxy interface? If so, can you provide the link. -- I know how to play BG, but have never played on Backgammon Galaxy. I just played a match and could not, for example, figure out, how to use the chat.
thats a good request as I just started there and it wasnt 100% intuitive when I got there. would be nice to have this type of video to go over all the buttons and areas and how to get stuff
@@Marcolino10DK Thanks Marc I know you will make a high quality video to cover the applicatio. thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the BG community
I can't finish the move, i keep loosing games without being able to play! Ok. I got it working. It was my internet speed. I managed to get it running a bit quicker and it works, you just have to click on the dice after the move. Thanks. I would like to be able to play a friend i suppose we will just have to arrange a match and accept each other. Would be nice to be able to do this directly. Anyhow, i've lost lots of games so far. lol There are a few bugs. Auto roll seems to engage itself sometimes which means i can't always double. Also sometimes the pieces and dice glitch a bit but usually still usable.
I was doing great! Following right along.. until pips.. and then I got more and more lost. 😢 I want to play but this simple looking game is quite complex.
I should have learned to play this game when I was 8 years old. By the time I'd reach 30, I'm certain that I'd have multiple PhD's in the math and sciences!!!!
I am having difficulty finding an explanation of the BGalaxy website interface. For example: I recently accidentally resigned during a match - ie: I somehow ressigned without knowing how I resigned. Obviously I did something which triggered that. But I cannot find any youtube video, or any explanation on the BGalaxy website on resigning. Thanks.
Me replying to my own question (above): I received a message from BGalaxy facebook saying I ran out of time (?). So my next Q is: how do I resign if I want to? Ie: what do I click on or whatever? Thanks.
I'm new on Galaxy but have been playing Backgammon for many years. I keep getting my game given to the other player when the game isn't even over. I don't get it. Can you help me?
No, all the points which are 3 or 5 points away from white's back checkers are occupied by 2 or more opponent's checkers, therefore one cannot move either number from the back.
It doesn't work for me. I can't work out how to finish the move and i don't see an opening roll. I keep loosing games and can't even finish my 1st move. I need a problem solving video, the simple how to use galaxy !

It's really excellent. If new you would have to watch a few times but you'd come out knowing the game well.
Thanks Christopher! That was the point! :)
Very true, hadn't a clue about Backgammon. Much appreciated.

I think that is intentional as they are computer generating hiding their identity...perhaps is Mochy or Falafel making a guest appearance? :)
@@sjsphotog No hiding :-)
The astronaut (his name is "Space Guy") is pretty far out in space. That's why the transmission is a bit rough ;-)

Very nice summary of the game basics! (I thought the term "anchor" was reserved for points made in the opponents home, though?)

It sounds as if you are having multiple windows open for the same live match... That way you can mess up the browser to send moves.

The pip count is visible at all times when you play at Backgammon Galaxy's app.

Why does the spaceman sound like Mitch McConnell? 😱
Also can you search members and organise a game between friends? So much is not explained here!

Play at 75% speed :)
Lots of features say still under development
How to make step? Were is button?

There's always an opening roll. And the player who gets the highest number starts. To confirm your move, simply click the dice.
I have literally no idea what is going on
the new site sucks. so many flaws.
