    Reupload because the slides weren't properly synched with audio, now fixed. Big takeaway: Henry Singleton was singularly focused on growing his own wealth through acquisitions and buybacks. Warren Buffett cared deeply about bringing his shareholders (partners) along for the ride.

    Thanks Mohnish lovely presentation as always. It be nice if you shared your wisdom with less fortunate educational institutions where the quality of teachers is substantially low. Just saying.... this is why the rich get richer.... its starts at these very institutions. Someone like you can make a huge difference to the less fortunate student who dont make it to these kinds of schools.... Just my thoughts...

    At 20:43 "Need stable/growing business that is profitable. The business cannot be in decline" . I think not necessarily since Berkshire and Hathaway was a textile mill that was in decline. Buffett used the money still in that business to purchase shares of quality companies that were not in decline such as Geico. So instead of buying back its own shares, it bought other company's shares.

    Can someone explain what Multiple Expansion is in the equation at 5:50
    What does it mean and how to calculate that

    • @user-oy4tv6de6s
      @user-oy4tv6de6s Год назад

      I can't english well. I think Multiple expansion means How much up or down trailing PE annually. so it can calculation like this
      first year trailing PE * (Multiple Expansion) = last year trailing PE
      I don't know you can read haha. I hope you can understand.

    • @MaynardP
      @MaynardP 9 месяцев назад

      Expansion reflects the change to the PE multiple over the buyback timeframe. For NVR 0.95, it reflects the PE has declined by 5% over the buyback timeframe.

    Pabrai is not a credible person in my opinion. He
    praises companies and relatively shortly afterwards
    exists the positions (Alibaba. Seritage, Shinoken just
    as examples). Now there is nothing wrong with
    changing your mind, but if you have the confidence
    to praise companies into heaven to your audience,
    you should know enough about them and not have
    to change your thesis every five minutes. If your
    own commitment ist so volatile, you should not
    praise these companies as if you have figured them
    out.
