I live in an area where there are fewer than 25 days where you need ice traction. I still use studded tires because people lose their minds when driving on ice and I need to be able to stop fast and also get out of their way quickly. You cannot beat the bite of spikes on real world icy roads.

First test I've seen that says studded are better than regular snow tires. I think here in the USA the biggest supplier has a video that compares studded vs regular snows and the regular snows come out better BUT as has been pointed out THEY COMPARE TWO DIFFERENT BRANDS OF TIRES! Here in Boulder, CO we don't have snow on the ground for most of winter SO the incessant rumble and noise of the studs out weights the advantage of studded snows.

Really? I've seen many tests and studded tires are always better for snow and ice traction. And the little extra noise is worth it for when you decide to hit I-70 West and it's snowing. Though you said you're from Boulder so that has to mean something.

I mainly deal with dry snowy roads in the winter rather then where i moved from which had icy slushy roads.
All depends on where you are driving.

Only people that say non-studded are better have never driven studded.

Is there any video of nordic friction vs studded tyres?

I don't care how many times people try to come up with ways to get rid of studded tires there will be and never has been a tire made that has better traction then steel studded tires.

Living in the northern half of Sweden, there is no way I'm using studless tyres. I've tried them, and it was a joke compared to studded.
If I were to move to the southern part though, I'd probably use studless, where there's no snow at all, since studless gives more grip on asphalt. Chance of snow = studded. No chance of snow = studless.

She forgot to mention that when driving on clean/wet asfalt. The normal winter tyre is better. Studded should only realy be used on snow and ice. Many non nordic countries ban damm from the road (they do damage the road). So pay attention if you go South

Anybody with common sense (minority) will notice right away that the cars are not identical.

Who is the target audience for this video? It seems to me like a completely useless and pointless video:
If it's aimed at UK drivers or other European drivers who aren't already well informed of the benefits of winter tyres, it's pointless because those people won't be living in a climate that has packed snow and ice for prolonged periods, so the studded tyres would be more of a hindrance than a help.
If it's aimed at Nordic countries, or other countries that do get the prolonged periods of ice and snow on the roads, they will already be well aware of the benefits these tyres so again the video is pointless.
Assuming the first group above is the target audience, (as that seems the least absurd possibility) it would have been far better to show the benefit of (ideally nordic, but at least good quality) friction winter tyres vs the cheap summer or "all-season" / "mud & snow" tyres that most brits drive on.
