YES! Finally a youtuber who realizes that even though you can be making thousands on youtube you still need some sort of higher level degree just in case youtube doesnt work out. Education is success guys.

I have three degrees under my belt and they aren't doing me any good. I've worked hard for them and worked hard to pay for them. And I still have a mediocre job that just barely pays for my rent and food. Our problem is all the employment being shipped overseas. Every time I contact a company, I end up talking tho someone in Manilla.

I am a Vet as well. I 100% understand your what you're saying, and I worked for the VA for 10 years. The way the VA and Govt treats Vet's is less than subpar. Some people choose to live on the streets, however some people have been forced b/c of lack of skills( jobs in the military don't always translate to the civilian world), lack of adequate mental health, etc. The best thing you can do Missy Lynn is exactly what you're doing now. Obtain your degree, grind on the civilian side as much as you can, rely on God, and set plans and goals.. Save, save, save! Above all else, keep going to sick call( Army term.. Sorry), get a copy of your medical records as you go, and file you're VA claim BEFORE you get out. There is an art to getting your $$ from the VA. I will share ALL the info, inside "tricks" and websites I know. No one knows what hell Vets of any branch if service go through, but those of us who've walked the path. God speed.... Pink Butterfly!!!

I'm a social worker with the homeless veteran program with the VA & I agree with this comment. There are so many reasons why some vets become homeless however this comment does a great job of hitting main points! I said a lot of the same in my comment.

Hey missy I FEEL YOU I work for the federal govt and often I am speaking with vets young and old who put their everytning into serving the military and aren't left with much ever. When you get into the military the recruiter isn't sitting there telling you how you need a back up plan, they are telling you how far you can go without explaining the flip side.there are plenty of federal programs that help other people but there should be more for our men and women in the military

Hi. I am an army vet. When I got out I felt the same way you did. I struggled for eight years. I also have stay in a shelter at one time. Because I wasn't told anything when I got out. I thought that only disabled service connected vets got benefits because the military don't tell you anything when you get out. I happen to be on the bus one day and heard another veteran talking about the homeless veteran program, HUD Vash, and nonservice connected disability. I am a participant in all those programs now all because I heard about the another vet. The military needs to make sure that their vets are more informed instead of us having to find out by accident. So I thought I would pass on the info. Y'all blessed day. Love your videos Hon.

laquanda davis oooh yea gir. a lot of people dont take advantage of what they can really get and its sad because some are just unaware. Thank god i have a family full of military people who schooled me. A savings account is Key! I've been saving money for the past 8 years and sitting nice on a good savings account..but not everyone's fortunate for a savings, side gig, and other opportunities.

laquanda davis Even that though isn't guaranteed. These last 2 years since I got out have been ROUGH. I lost my job and everything, but was denied entrance into the HUD Vash program. Trying to scrape by and stay in school, taking meds all the time, and just not knowing what to do. Honestly don't know where I would be without my military friends right now.

Hey Missy, you're a great example for young people out here. Not only are you actively working towards your degree while on active duty, making beauty videos and vlogs but you're only 1 class away from your CCAF! I know many TSgt & MSgt who've been in for 15+ years who aren't even halfway to their degree. My Dad says my siblings and I are crazy for getting out of the military but like you said, the military isn't what it used to be and there are far too many opportunities out here other than the military. Love the vlogs, continue to be an inspiration to us all! :)

People sacrifice their life for our freedom and when they get out of service they have to apply for food stamps or cash assistance! My baby sis is in the service for over 15 years. The stories she told about the struggles of the men and women in the service is sad. There should always be funds and medical for our Vets.

Missy, I completely agree with you on the military veterans. I am in the service 13 years, 8 years active and this last 5 years reserve. I am just as passionate about this issue. I think unless you serve you just do not get it. I am currently in school, in my junior year. When I went to look for a job on the civilian side I was shot down left and right. All doors seem to close, I didn't have a degree at the tie, but I had 8 years experience in the preventive medicine field, and I served two 12 month tours in Iraq. I was pissed, but I decided to pursue a degree and I am almost done. I still am like dang I am more than qualified and a war veteran, no love was shown. Get that education because once earned no one can take that accomplishment away.

I don't see a problem with married ladies or husbands getting tested, its not an admission to guilt but more of easement..... I do hate they are only allowing women to get paps every 3-5 yrs now, and I asked my doctor could I still do mine annually and the insurance would still pay for it..... well we know that was a nope

The amount of sacrifices you make while your in and with hopes of trying to put your personal life back together after you get out the service just to end up homeless or struggling financially. Hey Missy thanks for the video. I definitely feel you 100% I just got out of the Air Force in Feb & drove with my son cross country back to Charleston, SC and let me tell you that was the roughest thing ever. Not because of the drive but because once you're on the other side it is almost as if you weren't even there if that makes any kinda sense. Taps class really isn't enough to prepare you for such a huge lifestyle change, if you know you're not in it for 20 all I can suggest is plan, prepare & save. And like you said their cutting people left .& right and the jobs aren't a symbol of security at the very least anymore so maybe you should plan & prep anyway. Now that I'm here in Charleston I see so many Vets & signs I'm in shock and awe. I can't help but give & thank them for their service. I don't see how men & women can put their lives on the line for their country & not have a home to go to when it's all said and done. It just blows my mind, saddens me & pisses me off all at once. Once again thanks for the video love it truly touched me.

My family has been affected by the virus and in most cases, both parties were in committed relationships and one of my Aunts was an ER Nurse with 25+ years of experience when she was diagnosed. HIV is not a death sentence and it does not give any person cause to be ashamed. Be brave and know that you are prepared to handle whatever the results are on the other side. You owe to yourself to be as healthy as you can.Thank you again MissyLynn.

Oh great! I'm also majoring in Healthcare Management. Taking classes online and working full time as a salon Manager. I know it gets overwhelming and stressful, but you'll get through it Missy.
By the way, I just received my MissyLynn Palette, love all the shades; especially the rose gold bronzer.

I 1 thousand percent agree with your views on homeless vets! I don't feel that our government takes care of or appreciates what veterans give of themselves only to come home to nothing. I say this as a civilian who is thankful for every night I sleep soundly knowing I am safe!

I couldn't stop thinking of Flash dance!! So you know I'm old, lol!! I love the really curly hairstyle on you!! It's great to see that you're so focused on gaining your education. Thanks very good for your younger followers. My Nephew was an AF Master Sargent and he ended up retiring after 20 years. I went to school for a while and being a teacher with ADD makes it excruciatingly difficult for me to sit in a classroom. Now, I'm thankful for the opportunity to go to school online. I like that you spoke on getting an ultrasound. I've had fibroids for a while and I'm glad that I had one taken. My mother told me that they tried to refuse to give her a PAP test!! Of course, she cussed them out and they tested her. She also used to volunteer for the AIDS Center and told me about so many women had AIDS from their husbands. Men have to see Urologists and need prostate tests and colonoscopy. In my family, we have our physicals in the summer. Therefore, my son has his athletic physical done before back to school and our birthdays. I like that you voice your opinion about everything, and have a heart. I wonder how the numbers of the stats compare. I want you to know that my husband was at least one person who was taken care of very well by his military insurance which took care of most of his expenses during the time he had cancer. He passed away in June, which is why I'm up so late looking at videos. There are many shelters for homeless veterans, but everyone does not fit into those boxes and regulations of how they are managed.

This video had me in tears. My friend & I were just having this convo today. Her husband is getting out this summer and my husband plans on reenlisting for the 3rd time and is making a career out of it. The constant change does scare me as a military wife. It's scary to think one day a drastic change weather its financial, mental, or physical can change OUR life.

Wow, its sad for those who served get treated like that when they have a fallout😔 how can one serve for this country and in return they get no help when needed? Omg I feel the same way about getting tested! It's so important! I do it every year and I even told my boyfriend to do it for the same reasons. At first he was saying "I'm faithful so why... etc etc" but I said the same answer like you never know what could come up. Like if you know you good, you have the proof and its not just by word.. Like you have papers! It's just a great feeling to know. I love watching your talks, its just so real.

I feel u! Im combat vet in the army and the cadence was right" they give u $100 and take back 99! I tear up too when i see homeless especially vets. I get angry! When i got home from all the shit i went through goin harder them the guys, they crapped on me! I jumped right back in school to be an ob/gyn and they never paid tuition on time and i had to drop out and found another path that would keep me moving. They almost messed that up not responding to my school in a timely manner. I go for help and i get turned away or lied to and still charged. They help n some areas but fuck up major in others. I had to fall back n regroup. Im finally submitting paper work and im going to stay optimistic on a positive outcome. My husband and i are vet and you would think the basics would automatically be given to us..you have to search n ask or u may not find out! Im so proud of you and your accomplishments! It makes my heart smile and keeps me encouraged. Never give up and keep good trusting people in your circle!

I am a veteran, and you just have to be educated on certain benefits that you qualify for, be persistent in getting every benefit you've earned, and never give up! Yes, there are numerous shelters, apartments, and homes for veterans; and other housing programs as well.
Thanks for a great video. I just subscribed to your channel!

Good morning Missy, I just to salute you/you have a heart of gold. I have not serve in the military but I have 2 sons that has one is in and 1 is out, and the one that's out had a Brain Tumor, so he had to get out but praise be to God he gets 100% and yes their are many who are still fighting for there benefits after serving for us. I feel the same way when I see homeless people rather they have serve in the service or not My heart is really torn to pieces to see that. I give when I can rather they are lying are not that's between them and God, I just look at that when I bless someone and when I'm dead and gone, I would want that favor to fall on my children/ children/ children, I never want the torch of giving to stop, because their is a blessing in giving.
You are a great motivator to many don't let nothing and nobody stop your goals you have set before you. Just always put God first in all that you do and let him lead and guide your thoughts and foots steps. I tell you if you just add one more ingredient to your life which is Jesus girl you can do some damage for the Lord, because you have so many followers in your life, and not to put a damper on you but good is not good enough. Let your purpose on this earth be worth your time on this earth.
Not trying to push Jesus on you because God has showed you what he can do for you, how about showing him what you can do for him (Jesus), Read this Romans 10:9 and watch God really take you to another level a level that a carnal mind can't comprehend.
(Just a prayer warrior coming through)!!!

Air Force Desert Storm Veteran here....I understand your hurt I feel your pain. I see many veterans here in the Phoenix area where we have events called "Stand Downs" where the community comes together and donates dental, hair services, health care info, education assistance and most important housing assistance. Many of these veterans never step foot in the VA hospital or regional office to find out about their benefits options for many reasons. Phoenix is doing a fabulous job at reaching out,I encourage you to visit your local VA hospital and either volunteer or ask them to look at "us" for the program here. I also spent 4 years as a employee at VA hospital as a 90% disabled veteran giving back while working. Love your videos and thanks for your service.
    Btw you should consider staying😊ijs

I agree with the points you made. Grandpa who passed away was a Vet. They did my grandma dirty when it came down to his benefits. My uncles and my cousins served. I respect you and all the bo t hers and sisters that serve/served. All our service people but people of color especially.

I went to the VA Hospital in Houston and it made me feel so sad for everyone in there. It's like they get benifits but the health care they receive is not top quality nor was the condition of the hospital. If i could rate it in comparison to other hospital I've seen or been in, it would be 1 out of 5. It was really bad. So I'm so glad for you to be working on other goals that aren't solely military based. You inspire many people, keep up the good work.

You are soo right! With the testing stuff..My mom makes sure that she gets tested every year even though she is 62 and not sexually active. She has surgeries from time to time and she wants to make sure that no one used any contaminated instruments. People are so scared to get tested but want to get mad when all of a sudden they caught something. Whats so hard to draw some blood or take a mouth swab to save your life or future children's life! It's so sad to see vets homeless on the street because they have given their all to serve and protect or country!

This vid is months old but it hit a spot with me. I'm about to separate as well and the motivation to stay is not there. There are way to many vets on the street. They gave years and may have gotten medals, etc but they don't get taken care of or it takes forever. I pray I am able to help as many vets as I can with at least furnished housing in my lifetime.
Honestly, we are a number. Once we leave, the billet will get filled. Glad to have served with you (even though we are in totally different areas)
    BE blessed.

It still boggles my mind that a great country like US doesn't have free healthcare, it's ridiculous, veterans should be treated a lot better. Canada isn't perfect but I'm greatful for the healthcare system we have.

I lovvvve how you take the Air Force to your advantage. I have to get on your level. I joined at 19 now I'm 18 months into my 4 year enlistment. I'm at Cannon AFB separated from my spouse who is in the Navy. My AFSC has a lot of upgrade training but as soon as I'm done I am going back to school ASAP!!!!!! I admire you so much ma'am, you keep a young airman like me going!!
And your vent at the end I totally agree. We just had 2 suicides in the past 6 days at this base and haven't even received an email from the Wing King regarding the stress level and it's effect here at this Special Ops base. Sometimes even as active duty we are "just another number".

I definitely applaud you for advocating for HIV testing. However, please be sure to do your research. As a Prevention Specialist for a local nonprofit that deals with HIV, you said somethings that are untrue. It does not take years for things to show up in your system. For HIV, it takes a maximum of 3 months for a newly infected person to show enough of the HIV antibodies in their system for a rapid HIV test. Also the test would be good from the time you were born up until three months prior. Just wanted to give you information on that, but thanks for advocating. It is definitely needed. :)

I wish they would do more for military vets. My dad and mom both served in the Navy (they divorced). It was a constant struggle for me getting help for my dad when he had a stroke. I'm 27yrs old and I gave up my life to help take care of him. They helped but I don't think they helped like they should have. Sadly my dad passed away Dec 23, 2016. I always see so many vets that are homeless and I feel as if the military should do more for them. It hurts my heart also to see those vets whom are in the VA nursing facilities and families don't go see them. I all over the place with this post. LOL.

Missy you are on point!! Veterans should not have to come home and live in the streets it's ridiculous! They should have jobs & things for them set up after they leave the military it's crazy they fought and worked for this country and the least they could get is some decent healthcare, employment, and housing.
