Ommadawn, una obra Maestra y mi favorita seguida de Taurus, QE2, Incations y Tubular Bells.
Es mi músico favorito, y al que sigo desde mi infancia.

How fluid was music back in the day. Look at those legends, performing a fully different version from the original, or even from the Knebworth performance, while Mike is practically in the same outfit. Different intro, different passages, different solos. Even different vocal octave turn at arount 12 minute mark. This might not be my favourite version ever (and I am so grateful that there are a few floating around) but I must say, Ommadawn is such a powerful piece, and the fact that Mike and the crew always play around with it, give it it's own life based not only on who is playing, but obviously what the mood of the evening is. Playing so freely and jamming the familiar themes is worth of admiration and makes me wish I was there in the audience every single time this masterpiece was performed. Thank you for uploading this powerful version, made my day. Ommadawn is one of the best pieces of human music history, always gives so much. Love it.

Milde makrel.....jøsses.....utroligt at du havde det her.
Oldfield er verdens bedste og Ommadawn superpladen over dem alle.

Pierre Moerlen is the master, so I don't know why Maurice Pert is there! Pert even fu*ks up the ending, from start to finish, which he should be ashamed of, wereas Moerlen keeps time with atomic precision!

The line-up had some changes during Mike's 1982 tour, but I think the following line-up played at this Roskilde show:
      Mike Oldfield - guitars, bass
      Tim Cross - keyboards
      Pierre Moerlen - drums, percussion
      Morris Pert - drums, percussion
      Tim Renwick - guitars, recorder
Virginia 'Ginny' Clee - guitars, vocals
      Maggie Reilly - vocals

The Live at Knebsworth Festival 1980 performance is much better than this.

Yeah, the recording at Knebsworth is better, more power, slightly different instruments at play, and the flutist is definitely doing a better job there

1980 had ultimate guitar sound (like Knebworth) and musical improvements. Gigs in 1981 showed incredible playing skills and more musical improvements. Hard to find a single performance from 1982 or newer that topped that, but wider audience didn't care about exquisite 1980/1 and Mike gave up😢
