Those donations don't make you "win". The only stuff that is behind a paywall and can't be obtained playing the game is purely 100% cosmetic (and if you really want those things you can trade them with players, they're not expensive if you AFK for like a couple hours in the farms that I already mentioned). I'd build up a ton of money, but convert it into items (money vouchers, checks, diamonds, gold, etc.), keep that somewhere nobody will find it, and use a custom script that walks around for you (afk) and at random times, gets some amount of item money, converts it to digital money, and gives it to someone. That way there is no way to find it in logs, plus if they want to fix everything, the mods have to do everything by hand.
I remember destabilising the economy on a modded server back in the day. In the spawn shop you could buy MCHeli vehicles for a reasonable price. I would buy these vehicles in bulk and then use machines from minechem to break them down into their individual crafting elements before turning those elements back into iron and diamonds. I would then sell them by the stack at the spawn shop and very quickly became the richest on the server.

Pay-to-win servers are actually against Minecraft's EULA, and have the right to be taken down by mojang if you let them know of such servers. Many many MANY servers had to be reformed years ago as they were unaware they were breaking EULA, and would have been forced to shut down if they didn't. If you ever see any minecraft servers like the one in this video, please send Mojang Support a tip about the server so the proper precautions can be taken.
One time these kids did not set up their shop correctly, so you could buy 64 blocks of gold for like $10 and craft them and sell them for like $34,000. I made a bot that would click around the screen and automatically do the transactions for me. I was banned shortly after :).
I’ve been banned for the same thing. Part of the appeal for everyone that did this was that they were set to 0$, then put into the negatives for how much they cheated in.
If you really want to destroy the server's economy, just give random people tons of money after duping to make it almost impossible for the mods to get rid of all the duped money.
As a part of the Skyblock community, i can say with a good amount of confidence that most of the late game tryhards would willingly play on these servers just to completely screw the economies over, and anyone who is pathetic enough to play on them.
EthanNicotine this isn’t just mindless duping. Servers that are cosmetic or donating is allowed, but servers like treemc are p2w and it’s impossible to progress without spending money
the best part is that this server they were in during the making of the video, is a hardcore pay to win server, where now you need to pay for absolutely everything, whether it is building, walking, running, and everything. the guys have a pluggin to not allow free to plays even do anything. and seeing someone dupe diamonds just like that, is the best revenge ever.
idk if the same happens on pc but when we'd very recently dupe on xbox it would make any area where you leave duped items super glitchy and laggy, if the same applies to pc (or do it on xbox too tbh) have people dupe all over in a server and leave the duped items laying around and it'll just make it laggy everywhere, if done underground they won't even know
I remember when 90% of the Minecraft servers we're like this until Mojang said Nah fam. The good servers with kits and ranks are ones where they are all in-game things and can't be bought with money. Ranks that can be bought with money give you arbitrary things that doesn't make you better, but may improve the multiplayer effect of names, chat, or other things.
Why can't Mojang check? This is basically 90% of the top servers. If they just shut down like 20 of them, that would probably make other servers want to change their practices in fear of being next.

@KMatias yes tpaall is a hack that will send a /tpa to every player on the server.

Oh no fuck they can buy an unban :(
They should have given a million to every one on the server and drop diamonds stacks in spawn.
It would've been a nightmare for the admins.
Ok, so I've been playing on this server for a year now and I wanna share my experience so far, because I don't think you guys are being fair:
First of all, the diamond gear that you get with donations is literally worthless. Diamonds cost 400 in this server and there are many public farms that make around 40k per hour. Also the gear has curse of vanishing in it and nobody uses shitty MVP gear. Those donations don't make you "win". The only stuff that is behind a paywall and can't be obtained playing the game is purely 100% cosmetic (and if you really want those things you can trade them with players, they're not expensive if you AFK for like a couple hours in the farms that I already mentioned).
With that said, the community in towny is lovely and I've been building stuff consistently for an entire year without paying a single cent. I'm a millionaire in the server and I have a pretty cool city. So how is that pay to win??? You could do a lot of harm to the community with these videos while we're actually just building stuff and having fun here. The worst part is that the videos are fake news. Paying doesn't give you shit in this server, they're only donations, it's just not fair.
But I guess that being a fucking piece of shit who ruins other people's experience is the only way some people can have success and reach a couple million views. Congrats on that, dude.
After buying everything in the auction house, throw all your bought items in lava.
Pay-to-win servers are actually against Minecraft's EULA, and have the right to be taken down by mojang if you let them know of such servers.
