Never met Rickie Smith but would love to someday. I feel like we’re two peas in a pod as far as two old guys (I’m 80 in October’24) that love drag racing, our wives and children and the Good Lord, not necessarily in that order. Been involved in drag racing since 1960 so I know where Rickie is coming from. This man is a treasure and a prince among men that doesn’t mind allowing his emotions and passion for what and who he loves to come to the surface when speaking about his blessings and who provides them! Mr. Smith, stay safe, keep it between the rails and I pray you keep doing what you’re doing as long as Almighty God allows! May the Lord Bless you and keep you!! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Great interview Brett! Rickie brings a whole new perspective in Drag Racing. Frustration with constant rule changes is justified. Rickie’s a straight shooter.

Pro Mod is the only Non-Cookie Cutter Class, PM rocks. There has never been anymore hard working racers than Bob Glidden & Rickie Smith!!
This is the same rule crap they did to Scotty Cannon!............This is why you see more people flocking to Nostolgia FC ...including TF drivers..... Just go look at the field at the March Meet the last few years.....When NHRA decided to pick up the class it went to crap.........Rickie knows how to drive which is not as common as when it was IHRA or earlier.... Its the reason I left the class, When the cars got easy to drive it greatly reduced the man against machine element that most folks love....
