    Hey Michael well done on sticking it out that long, at least there was "silver" at the end of the rainbow.
    Once the waves come over the wall safety is priority.... Thanks again for another good video 👍

      Thanks Scott a bit longer than i would normally do but sometimes you get this nagging if i just hang on for a little bit longer. Yeh when the wind and waves pick up like that it's time to get out of there, had one car damaged there already with the water ain't going to happen again lesson learned.

    • @scottdrummond2886

      What happened to your car there? I park there often when chasing a fish?

    • @michaelbird3226

      @@scottdrummond2886 At that time you were able to park alongside the cages. I had volvo estate at the time , i was in the cage 3 a big wave came over the wall i grabbed my rods held onto cage when wave went over thought good still got gear. When i looked down at car back door was open and my gear was floating out the back. Could not get car dried out it always steamed up after that had to get rid of car.

    Michael, I am newly retired and fairly new to sea fishing and watching your videos always inspires me. I was fishing Stonehaven harbour through the night and was using a single pennel pulley rig. When I struck on a big bite, I immediately got snagged and lost my tackle. I use an impact led with the wires but more often than not, I always get snagged. In your videos, you seem to use a Paternoster rig, is this a flapper rig? I am totally lost as to what method to use and how to use it and beginning to lose heart, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • @michaelbird3226
      @michaelbird3226  6 лет назад

      If you watch my videos you may note that when rough gfround fishing i use both 1 hook pulley rig and also a 2 hook paternoster. The paternoster and flapper rig are very similar i do get caught out with the 2 hook rig because when you have a fish on one hook the other hook will act like an anchor. My way of beating that is to keep the bottom hook about 8 inch away from weight especially when there is stoney ground like in patches around Stonehaven.
