weird sound??? its a screamer meant to alert foot traffic and cars in parking lots at low speeds and reverse that might normally hear an engine running. its a safety feature and has already saved us from fender benders several times. honda now uses it on their hybrids too
I think he also means when the engine kicks in while accelerating .....for the hybrid version at least, the engine kicks in at 15-20mph~ and boy does it feel like youre pressing the foot pedal down like you are going from 0-60...its ****ing loud...it starts quiet since it has e-AWD, the battery motor winds and VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOM!!!! engine kicks in...not good....also on the highways...i need to turn up my music louder....you hear all the exterior noise in the cabin....also during winter, it went from 530miles till gas fill to 430 miles...and i only have 5k on this vehicle, and I performed an oil change at 1000 miles and at 5000 miles....received the best maintenance so far.
Here in CA I’ve been on waiting lists all over the state (all no markup dealerships). Then all of a sudden within one week I had my choice of XLE AWD, SE Prime, XSE Prime. I have to decide within the next two days.
WE have owned five Prius's. We now have the 2017 Prime Prime. Toyota has allowed their dealer ships to gouge customers. One dealer told $10K over MSRP!!! Another told 15K over MSRP!! The new 2023 is 2" lower a deal breaker. We have bought our last Toyota!!! WE just bought a Volkswagon ID.4 we love it!!!
U DO have a legitimate beef w/Toyota, but VW?🤔 I wish u luck with dependability. My 2019 Limited is paid for, no thanks. Supply/demand? Dont buy & let them stockpile.😉
Best car ever made! I have two 2023 LE’s Fun to drive, quiet, smooth, excellent acceleration and braking and with so many builtin warning and safety features. Gets 55 miles per gallon - highway & town. It does take time, however, to get used to driving this new model all it’s displays and camera. Love it big time!
The instrument binnacle should be positioned over the steering wheel. Will that make for too low a steering wheel? That's something the driver needs to decide.
I owned 2 prius so far. One car 205000 miles. The second one had 223560 NO PROBLEMS. We just wanted a new one. We V now drive the super sonic red 022 prius prime. I cant figure it out yet. Im getting 89.3 mpg using electric and gas
I own a 2019 supersonic red Limited. Live in rust belt, ceramic coated, full frontal/ bottom wrap, LED's for interior/brake/reverse lights, cat shield, & undercoated. I love the new ones, but starting all over, no thanks. I'll envy, but I love mine.😉🖖🇺🇸
Yeah that high instrument panel placement is just trying to hard to be different. Having it in view between the steering wheel has always been perfect.
Prius catalytic converters are being stolen at such a high rate in California that insurers are refusing to cover the cars. Definitely need a design change.
@@deathbymazda This is a National problem. Do a google news search for catalytic converters and you’ll see thieves being caught with hundreds of converters in their rural trailer homes in states like LA, MO, and GA.
I heard they already had radio screens blanking out due to poor soldier connection. Only a trip to a electric board repair specialist will resolve that issue so far.
Cargo space seems worse, but it's still quite good. We have an '08 Prius and comparing the trunk space - the Gen 2 has only 16 cu ft, while this new has 20. We have always been pretty impressed with the cargo space of the Gen 2! Plus you could take out the idiotic styrofoam space taker-uppers under the carpet and probably end up with 25. That is pretty impressive. The hatch is low but the cargo area is longer, I guess that's why the car is 6" longer than a Gen 2.
I think you are knicking/picking too much. NO car is perfect. It DOES look MUCH better. I OWN a 2019 gen4 & I'd LOVE to won one of those. But I am NOT paying markups & mine IS paid for & I'm quite happy with it. Its fast enough for me. That's the BIGGEST complaint, EXCESSIVE/ANY MARKUPS! 🤥🇺🇸
One problem that not enough people are talking about: No easy way to turn the traction control off. Trying to not get stuck in a snowy parking lot in the winter just got a lot more difficult because of that. Traction control in a FWD car is a dumb idea to begin with.
Toyota should listen to the potential buyers I also don’t like the steering wheel they should make it bigger so you can actually see the speed you are going!!
Oh, why do you have to keep splitting the screen showing the same pictures - awfully distracting whilst watching the video!!
The biggest problem with this channel - useless split screens 😂
It's an AI speaker as well

That sound is for safety. If car moves @ low speeds, car coasts & pedestrians dont hear, 🤔
@@riceburner4747 yeah exactly! this guy didn't dig very deep on that one...
Oh thanks! I just bought this car and was wondering what that sound was.
@@TheTorchredz06 yeah it turns heads and you get some funny looks but it sure does its job lol

Just one problem with this Prius.
I can't get hold of one!

Has any made it across the Pacific Ocean yet ?
Best Auto ever.

How long is your commute? Is that in traffic?

were all your priuses hybrid or prime?
The worst thing is that Toyota charges ridiculous subscriptions on everything on all Toyota vehicles

A catalytic converter shield is a factory option for $140. Plus it's so low to the ground it's more difficult to steal.
need to live in a better state lol

But it's a Prius. The world to loves the Prius ... and the King's clothing

Every year I keep checking to see if they have improved their blind spots and it feels like it’s getting worse not better🤦♀️
I don't like that a hybrid is getting in the price of the low end full electric cars.
My problem is that isn’t in mexico yet
Well I’ll wait until the 2024, there should be improvements and elimination of noise.

You know this comes in awd right?
4 hours charge time on a home dedicated charger is disappointing. Some rivals are half this time for similar battery size.
Should check model Y real window first !
Prius comes with ice great for long trips & EV for short hops Best of both worlds.
Toyota should listen to the potential buyers

Fuck's sakes, just move the bloody wheel in a bit..........................
"Is harshly bearable to relax"? Jeez.
🚙EV with engine👍
head room in back my son is 6 2
Sounds like a Chinese translation to me. Nice one CCP
I want problems 😅😂
The sound is nothing new. The Prius has made that sound for years. Corolla Hybrid makes the same sound also.
Chinese electric car channel..😂😂
None of these are defects, everything in this video is subjective.
