You put in a lot of hard work building that gasket ! I was hoping it was going to run a little better for you . Getting some fresh gas will make a world of difference . Thanks for sharing and have a great evening !
Ok...here is a comment for the RUclips Masters... Comment. 😂 Sorry, had to do it 😕. But for you Ross, look at it this way....now you already have the carb kit for that "other" project. 😊. Or as they say in Canada, project. 🤨. 👍🇺🇲🚜. GO FIAT!!!🇮🇪🤪
Hi Ross I love your channel .Ill try to comment when I work on old equipment and restore it I been doing it for 16 years I ant as much I ant able as much now.I like your funny times to.I wish you were around to work on my old Tractors to you look like you do as good of a job that you can with them.I may pull your leg when I here something that you say when I can one thing don't touch a hot screw driver when you just grind on it it would be a hot shiny finger lol.
I thought I saw Buddy headed down the driveway to warn everyone to cover their ears as the mule is going to be active. Zenith was a fair television but a lousy maker of carbs.
I think I rebuilt at least one Zenith carb like that one. I don't like them as much as the Scheblers. Didn't care for that accelerator pump thingy either. Great vid! Time for part 3!
Sounds like she is going to be a sweet runner. I never have had very good luck with Zenith carbs. They always seemed way to complicated for farm tractor applications. I prefer the Marvel carbs. Nice to hear it run.
Yeah, I think it's time to give that carb the sledge hammer treatment. Once you get another carb and get the fuel system cleaned out, I think you'll be fine.
So, how many pumps of grease does an 880 carb take? For what it's worth, I actually have pretty good luck with Zenith carbs on my Orange tractors. Of course they are much simpler than the one you're working on. I found six venturies, will send you three as soon as I find a box to ship them in.
I figure next time I’ll just buy a whole box full of carburetors and shake them out on the ground and whichever one rolls three times is the one I’ll use 🤣
I hate those carbs they just suck . No load screw no way to tune them in . I remember my dad was so ill just say upset 😡. Lol so the next day we took a trip to the local tractor bone yard about 50 miles away and found what he wanted took it home cleaned it put it on and ran like a champ . Those were terrible carbs. From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
That carb looks like a combine carb could be wrong if you want some more weights like the ones on that 880 i know where there are some that may be purchased at a good price
@@gleanerk My brother came home from college playing it on a Sega Genesis. He had the workshop across the road from the dealership, and had that game hooked up to the sound system. I can still imagine customers hearing " finish him!" blaring across the road. 😂

The Napa box is not going to work for a gasket you have to use one of your beer cases that way you have an excuse to drink the beer to use the Box hello you should know that by now
@@rosstheoliverman I kinda like watching you work because I do shit the same way even worse. I love taking junk and making it work when it's not supposed to work. And then the people calling me stupid for doing it. Yeah the look on their faces when it works makes it all worth it lol
If you polish the paint before working on the mechanical problems at least failure will look good and speaking from experience sparks near the carburetor not a real good combo looks like you have a decent outfit to work with
By the time I was done messing with that carburetor I really wouldn’t care if it had burst into flames 🤣 but it seems to be a pretty good tractor overall.
I'm going to say that carb is for a 1550 or 1650 or even a 1750 because it has the vacuum hole for the vacuum advance for the distributor on it, But then again I have been known to be wrong before LOL. I know it will run cause I herd it run after Craig put that carb on it and tinkered with it. But I know you got an ace up your sleeve ! LOL Bandit
@@rosstheoliverman Thats the problem with any new carb, If it gets any kind of water in them they rust and corrode up so bad in a short time and just makes a pure mess out of them. Thanks for making me smile everyday that hard to do these days😅
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos Jeff! It makes it worth it to know people are finding it entertaining
Looks like you have your hands full with this rebuild Ross. I wouldn’t expect anything else. Always fun to watch a master at his craft!
Thanks Scott!
Chris L would be proud of your gasket...!!!!
I was telling my tv to put grease on the carb to make a template, then it happened. I think I might have some kind of powers.😂
Well you can turn beans in the music so if that’s a superpower I guess so.
I was rootin for you Ross !
Thanks! 🤣
I am glad she has a good engine. I think she will make a good tractor.
I think so too
You make me laugh Ross , thank you 😀
Thanks Mark 🤣
She sounds like she gonna be a good runner with the right carb on her. Good luck.
I think it will be with a little more love and care. Thanks Keith !
Happy Easter. keep up with the good work👍👍👍🐰🐣

Looks like you're getting really close to getting the 880 to running like it should. Thanks Michael
Thanks Michael! It’s getting close!
What am I supposed to call the Indian gages I just got for the 560? I figure you can think on that😂 Thanks for the good laugh Ross👍

🤣🤣🤣 I agree, they were better at televisions
I used a cheerios box one time for a motorcycle carburetor, it worked good just for playing in the fields.
People used to make gaskets out of cardboard all the time so I figured it would work at least for a little bit
I think I rebuilt at least one Zenith carb like that one. I don't like them as much as the Scheblers. Didn't care for that accelerator pump thingy either. Great vid! Time for part 3!
Thanks Jeff! Old Mr. Zenith is not my favorite guy 🤣

Cool beans
Yup!!!
Happy Easter to
Thanks! Happy Easter to you too!
Unfortunately you’re likely going to need a different/correct carb. But, it does sound good what little it ran!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Donald! Yes, we need to give the carburetor better attention for sure
It sure sounds good. Shame that carb kit wouldn’t work. A 90 degree elbow and a down draft carb would be cool to try on it.
I finally tracked down the right carburetor kit so I’m gonna try to rebuild it one more time.
Helpful too
I’m glad it was useful
a good carb with some clen fuel i think it will run pretty good
Yeah, it needs a different carburetor. This one is full of sadness. 😭
I was wrong once, ...years ago, but I think that plunger is a type of power valve on that carb
It does have. The new correct kit came with one so now I have to get the stuck part out that’s down in the bottom half of the carburetor
Your a tease! LoL I guess I should of know better than send you a tool that was finely engineered!😂
🤣🤣🤣 it takes some getting used to that perfect quality!
i d have hurled that thing at the garage wall by now
It’s coming soon. More than likely it will end up on the tree stump like that oil cup
Was just trying to think what Confucius would say but was getting a headache.

🤣🤣🤣 probably not more than five or six pumps! Haha! Thank you so much! I know I’ll use them eventually
I’d suggest you buy a carburetor for the random kit. It’s more fun that way…
I figure next time I’ll just buy a whole box full of carburetors and shake them out on the ground and whichever one rolls three times is the one I’ll use 🤣
Just know that I went through all the same struggles that you’re going through right now because I just wanted to hear it run for Pete’s sake
🤣🤣🤣 The tractor must be cursed.
WWCD lol . I bet it will sound good when you get the fuel make it happener replaced. Try try try until failure is your only option

It definitely could be off of something like a comebine. I’d love to find more of those style weights if they were reasonably priced.
Ross can i get the number for the oliver library ? for a oliver manual ?? TY,,,,

Zenith that’s a tv right?
What is that carburetor off of? I have never seen anything like that one.
Not sure exactly. But it must’ve been a factory replacement carburetor for the original zenith because I’ve seen the same one on the other Olivers.
Back to square one...tough 'ole bird. Wonder if carb rebuilders have a language (?!@#$%^&) all their own!!!
They probably do at the zenith corporation. I don’t know how you could work there without being mad every day
