I have to agree with Sooyoung. She once said when Taeyeon sang an OST, it felt like the main female character was singing. That's the one thing that differentiates Taeyeon from any other singers. Even I feel like Taeyeon's version is more Jang Manwol ish than IU's. That's not a bad thing, tho.

A perfect example of how a song can be technically challenging without crazy octaves and belting. The breath control required for this song is pretty intense and as shown how many artistes ended up sounding breathless or airy because of incorrect technique.
Wendy is clearly the best out of everyone that covered this song. Everyone else were either short of breath and/or their techniques were nowhere near Wendy or Taeyeon’s. IU, Punch and Lynn incorporated their styles but I don’t know if they’re a good match. Taeyeon and Wendy have this thickness(?) to their voices regardless of how high the notes they have to hit. I think that’s a unique advantage

They all really nice but honestly wendy delivers it the best here. I think taeyeon and wendy are really good at putting the right emotion and controlling between emotion and technique. They sounds like they’re singing while delivering a message but without overdoing it.
There's something about that third line until the end of the chorus that makes it so hard to replicate and Taeyeon did it even better in the live performance (that crescendo was an eargasm), plus the volume control this song requires skill. For me Wendy, Punch and Chaewon did well
BoA mastered the technique because Lee Soo Man wanted to replicate BoA, it is the same technique used to teach future SM female singers. Such as Taeyeon and Wendy.
yeh I personally prefer taeyeons version the best but Lyn totally made it into her own song like she did that, it was really different and so Lyn didn't copy it just sang it her way. really like her drama ost's as well

i honestly think wendy did the best cover since most of them sang it with their own rendition. Hence, singing with only instrumentals which means they can shift with the key they're most comfortable with. But dang wendy sang it with taeyeon's vocal as background and keeping the same key, range and feelings as taeyeon's tone. Do you know how hard that is? and she still slayed it. i honestly think wendy did the best cover since most of them sang it with their own rendition. Hence, singing with only instrumentals which means they can shift with the key they're most comfortable with. But dang wendy sang it with taeyeon's vocal as background and keeping the same key, range and feelings as taeyeon's tone. Do you know how hard that is? and she still slayed it. I like to hear a stage cover from her now.
