When I returned to God after decades of anger and rebellion, I started reading my Bible every day. I start nearly every day by reading at least 2 chapters and often more each day. At this time I've completed the New Testament and up to 2 Samuel 7. AS much as I like doing this, I am beginning to feel opposition from the enemy. By nature I am a stubborn man. The more someone tells my no, that I cannot do something, the more I rebel against it. The enemy is trying to tell me, its too nasty to go to church tonight or, God doesn't love me, a filthy ball of sin makes me want to go to church, and it proves God does love me because saten is trying so hard to discourage me in so many ways. God loves everyone of us. The only job he's really given us is to spread His word. He wants us to tell the world about His plan for salvation. On the surface, that doesn't sound too hard. If you're not reading the Bible, how are you going to carry out the job? Christians, myself included need to start concentrating on the job we were given. We need to stop judging, condemning and worrying about the people of the world. That is God's job. We just need to go forth and share our testimony about Gods plan, Jesus's love and how he sacrificed himself for our sins so we may share eternity in God's presence and not eternal death in the lake of fire.
Well said NOtaV. It's hard when it's closed friend that the devil takes as vessels to tell us how he hates us! Or family too. Sometimes I'm intimidated to speak the Word because of these people's pressure on me. I really have a hard time. The more I dive into the Word the more they seem to dislike it. You're entirely right, it's Gods job to deal with the world. It's our job to deal with the WORD :D Praise the Lord!

So many churches that I've attended, ask "who has come here expecting something from God?" Then they tell us to give him praise if we want something or to give an offering expecting something in return. I like your message because you teach about giving up something for Jesus. I feel we should do this because we love him not because we want something in return.

man, brother allen, thanks for jumping in and allowing our Lord to use you and preach this message. it was hitting my gut hard. i ain't gonna lie, I'm a wimp when it comes to committing so fully as Jesus requires. i believe it and love Him, and I agree with all you said. but i fall short. Hi Allen can you give me some advice I'm a christian and i strongly believe in eternal security the way i understand Scriptures my burden is the church i belong they believe salvation can be lost. Matthew 7:21-23 says: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Now, if you look closely at verse 23, Jesus makes a statement that is rather startling, perhaps none of us will ever want to hear on that faithful day. He says "i never knew you, depart from me...". This is implicating that He "NEVER" knew them, meaning that they never had been saved in the first place. Picture this. You're married to your husband, and (God forbids) he cheats on you. The first thoughts, or words that come out would be something like; "how could you do this to me? i thought i knew you but i don't know who you are". God is not an indian giver. He will not give us the gift of salvation, just to take it back as that wouldn't be a forgiving God. So we must always check ourselves daily just like we do when we look in the mirror before we head out to work everyday, working out our salvation (Philippians 2:12-13)12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." We must make sure that we truly have a seat in the kingdom. See, if we love God (Jesus) the way we say we do, then we would do what he says. John 14:15 says: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." So just because we are saved does NOT give us the green light to keep on sinning, while feeling we are covered by his grace and mercy , as THAT would be transgressing. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Those particular "christians" whom Jesus never knew, were boasting, thinking that their works alone would get them in heaven. (James 2:14-26). When a husband or wife cheats, one must do a lot to prove that they are worthy of being trusted again. We sin against God everyday, whether we pay attention or not. But thats why the gospel is important. The gift of salvation is free and eternal (Romans 5:15) 5 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Remember, that, eternal security can go only two ways, heaven or hell. The reason i used the term "transgress" earlier is because that is definitely one way we can show God that we never had him truly in our hearts in the first place. Sin, iniquity, trespass, are all one in the same when you use greek translation. But to transgress, means to exceed or overstep limits or going beyond what you are commanded to do, or willfully sin, knowing that its wrong. For example, a single person who claims to be saved, goes out and have sex, knowing that fornication or sexual immorality is an abomination to God, and then saying "God gave me the gift of salvation, so hell understand", is literally playing with fire. That is what those in Matthew 7 done their whole lives, like many people do in today's times. Final verse 1 John 5:11-13 says: 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. To answer your question, you should always try the spirit and see if its of God (1 John 4:1). Hold true to Gods Word, and He will tell you what to do, directing your paths. No one should be telling you what you should do. you can be there for many reason that God allows, perhaps to challenge the church, but only with the word of God (Bible), and perhaps hearts and minds will be changed. we all have different missions, but our objective is to bring as many to God as we can, one way, through Jesus Christ (the gospel) (John 14:6 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) I understand you posted this a year ago, so i hope God has answered you, or with Gods authority, perhaps this can help you. Thank you for this sermon. This is a word that needs to reach every Christian. So often we do not want to pay the cost but if we keep praying for God's help, and studying His word, He will pull us through and we will willingly pick up our cross and follow Him. Get closer to God and He will get closer to you.

I am in the process of becoming a disciple and now I'm faced with the need to move to another country and it's not easy. The need to let go of your old life. all the persecution you get from your family is hard.
Why? Isn't the whole point to live, love, and enjoy life with your friends and your family? What better could you receive, that you would leave your loved ones?
This is very timely for me personally. Over the last week my husband and I have had to confront an issue with my extended family. It has caused a huge divide as most of them do not understand our conviction. For a long time I have avoided this out of fear and it has caused so many problems between my husband and me. I feel so much better now and feel able to move on in my christian journey. Thank you for your sermon. It has helped so much. I want to stand for truth now. Amen

Eternal Security, in fact, that blessed assurance of going to be with the Lord in the next life, can only be found in Authentic Discipleship in this life...that is living a life of Faith in and Following Jesus in Thought, Word, Deed...even unto our own death...just as Jesus did!! Wow!!! That was good!!! I remember when I asked about discipleship no one could give me a straight answer. They even said I was a disciple. What??! Who me? Nawwww..... I think it's because they just don't know what it means! Yes, our salvation is a gift, but to truly love God with all your heart and all your mind....To put God first is a very hard concept to grasp. I didn't see this in my life before now..Thank You!!!!

Very good sermon. Being a Christian is tough. Many think you are some kinda nut. We can not enjoy the things many others enjoy. We are shouldered with responsibility. We become a target of Satan and Demons. (Why would they attack a non-believer?) Our lives are difficult. Jesus never said it would be easy. He said it was costly.
I agree with all of this Pastor Allen. Except for not being able to promise God loves them that is true. God so loved the world. God loves everyone. Does that mean everyone will go to heaven? No.
I have only been a Christian for a month, I feel like I want to quit because I don’t think I’m worthy for a disciple but at the same time I don’t. Can someone give me a few advices why not to quit? Thanks to all.
Ninja Kibō none of us are worthy, that’s the point. It was Christ who died for us, not the other way around. Now that your a Christian, you are a new creation in Christ dude. Please read the book of Ephesians. The most important thing you can do at this time of your faith walk is learn about your identity in Christ. It’s because of your position in Christ and where you now stand before God that you can abide in Christ, being a disciple is about being a learner. Commit to a good Christian community, have good people walk along side you and learn how to pray and read and meditate on the road. This is part of discipleship. Keeping in step with the spirit one step at a time. You cannot do it alone though, u need others
All Jesus asks of you is to accept Him into your heart and life. No one is worthy of what Christ has given to us on the cross. As you live your Christian life and read your Bible (I suggest you begin with reading through the New Testament first), you will grow in knowledge of what God asks of you. All knowledge takes time. None of us will ever be worthy, but we can read God's Word and learn, little by little, how to live the way god wants us to live. Whether or not you are able to fulfill God's ultimate purpose for your life, giving up on Christianity would be a terrible mistake. Jesus is the only way to God and to eternal life with Him. Perfection will never come. With Bible reading and with prayer, your life can become more full in Christ.
I did pray for you. God already owns everything so He cannot take what He already has. Please don't allow the enemy to fill your head with lies! Search the Word of God (the Bible) to see what the Father says and having done all Stand!!
There are several things we have to know from Gods word. Any one who has ever believed in Jesus as the only way of salvation, is saved and has eternal life. John 3:16-18 W e can never be condemned again. Once we are born into Gods family by believe those first three verses and knowing the gospel, First Corinthians 15:1-4, that Christ died for our sins, and that He rose again on the third day, we receive the GIft of the Holy Spirit who seals us unto redemption. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also AFTER ye believed were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise. Salvation is a free gift from God to every one that believes it. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. We did nothing for it, so we have nothing to boast in. Jesus pad it all and we paid 0. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is a free GIFT from God when we believe. John 3:16 is true. Romans 11:6 and 4:5 is true. Romans 4:6-8. He imputes His righteousness to us, and will no more impute sin to our account. John 10:28-29 Jesus keeps us saved when we believe it. John 6:37 He will never cast us out. John 6:39 Jesus has never lost one.
If you dont repent, how will God tolerate you? Hi Allen can you give me some advice I'm a christian and i strongly believe in eternal security the way i understand Scriptures my burden is the church i belong they believe salvation can be lost.
My question is do i need to change and find another church inspite that I'm one of the cell group leader and fear to leave my members pls help

Maybe i can help. Matthew 7:21-23 says:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Now, if you look closely at verse 23, Jesus makes a statement that is rather startling, perhaps none of us will ever want to hear on that faithful day. He says "i never knew you, depart from me...". This is implicating that He "NEVER" knew them, meaning that they never had been saved in the first place. Picture this. You're married to your husband, and (God forbids) he cheats on you. The first thoughts, or words that come out would be something like; "how could you do this to me? i thought i knew you but i don't know who you are". God is not an indian giver. He will not give us the gift of salvation, just to take it back as that wouldn't be a forgiving God. So we must always check ourselves daily just like we do when we look in the mirror before we head out to work everyday, working out our salvation (Philippians 2:12-13)12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
We must make sure that we truly have a seat in the kingdom. See, if we love God (Jesus) the way we say we do, then we would do what he says. John 14:15 says:
"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
So just because we are saved does NOT give us the green light to keep on sinning, while feeling we are covered by his grace and mercy , as THAT would be transgressing.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Those particular "christians" whom Jesus never knew, were boasting, thinking that their works alone would get them in heaven. (James 2:14-26). When a husband or wife cheats, one must do a lot to prove that they are worthy of being trusted again. We sin against God everyday, whether we pay attention or not. But thats why the gospel is important. The gift of salvation is free and eternal (Romans 5:15) 5 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Remember, that, eternal security can go only two ways, heaven or hell. The reason i used the term "transgress" earlier is because that is definitely one way we can show God that we never had him truly in our hearts in the first place. Sin, iniquity, trespass, are all one in the same when you use greek translation. But to transgress, means to exceed or overstep limits or going beyond what you are commanded to do, or willfully sin, knowing that its wrong. For example, a single person who claims to be saved, goes out and have sex, knowing that fornication or sexual immorality is an abomination to God, and then saying "God gave me the gift of salvation, so hell understand", is literally playing with fire. That is what those in Matthew 7 done their whole lives, like many people do in today's times. Final verse 1 John 5:11-13 says:
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
To answer your question, you should always try the spirit and see if its of God (1 John 4:1). Hold true to Gods Word, and He will tell you what to do, directing your paths. No one should be telling you what you should do. you can be there for many reason that God allows, perhaps to challenge the church, but only with the word of God (Bible), and perhaps hearts and minds will be changed. we all have different missions, but our objective is to bring as many to God as we can, one way, through Jesus Christ (the gospel) (John 14:6 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) I understand you posted this a year ago, so i hope God has answered you, or with Gods authority, perhaps this can help you. Thank you for this sermon. This is a word that needs to reach every Christian. So often we do not want to pay the cost but if we keep praying for God's help, and studying His word, He will pull us through and we will willingly pick up our cross and follow Him. Get closer to God and He will get closer to you.

I am in the process of becoming a disciple and now I'm faced with the need to move to another country and it's not easy. The need to let go of your old life. all the persecution you get from your family is hard.
Why? Isn't the whole point to live, love, and enjoy life with your friends and your family? What better could you receive, that you would leave your loved ones?

This is very timely for me personally. Over the last week my husband and I have had to confront an issue with my extended family. It has caused a huge divide as most of them do not understand our conviction. For a long time I have avoided this out of fear and it has caused so many problems between my husband and me. Wow!!! That was good!!! I remember when I asked about discipleship no one could give me a straight answer. They even said I was a disciple. What??! Who me? Nawwww..... I think it's because they just don't know what it means! Yes, our salvation is a gift, but to truly love God with all your heart and all your mind....To put God first is a very hard concept to grasp.

Very good sermon. Being a Christian is tough. Many think you are some kinda nut. We can not enjoy the things many others enjoy. We are shouldered with responsibility. We become a target of Satan and Demons. (Why would they attack a non-believer?) Our lives are difficult. Jesus never said it would be easy. He said it was costly.

I agree with all of this Pastor Allen. Except for not being able to promise God loves them that is true. God so loved the world. God loves everyone. Does that mean everyone will go to heaven? No.
I have only been a Christian for a month, I feel like I want to quit because I don’t think I’m worthy for a disciple but at the same time I don’t. Can someone give me a few advices why not to quit? Thanks to all.
Ninja Kibō none of us are worthy, that’s the point. It was Christ who died for us, not the other way around. Now that your a Christian, you are a new creation in Christ dude. Please read the book of Ephesians. The most important thing you can do at this time of your faith walk is learn about your identity in Christ. It’s because of your position in Christ and where you now stand before God that you can abide in Christ, being a disciple is about being a learner. Commit to a good Christian community, have good people walk along side you and learn how to pray and read and meditate on the road. This is part of discipleship. Keeping in step with the spirit one step at a time. You cannot do it alone though, u need others
All Jesus asks of you is to accept Him into your heart and life. No one is worthy of what Christ has given to us on the cross. As you live your Christian life and read your Bible (I suggest you begin with reading through the New Testament first), you will grow in knowledge of what God asks of you. All knowledge takes time. None of us will ever be worthy, but we can read God's Word and learn, little by little, how to live the way god wants us to live.
Whether or not you are able to fulfill God's ultimate purpose for your life, giving up on Christianity would be a terrible mistake. Jesus is the only way to God and to eternal life with Him. Perfection will never come. With Bible reading and with prayer, your life can become more full in Christ.

There are several things we have to know from Gods word. Any one who has ever believed in Jesus as the only way of salvation, is saved and has eternal life. John 3:16-18 W e can never be condemned again. Once we are born into Gods family by believe those first three verses and knowing the gospel, First Corinthians 15:1-4, that Christ died for our sins, and that He rose again on the third day, we receive the GIft of the Holy Spirit who seals us unto redemption. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also AFTER ye believed were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise.
Salvation is a free gift from God to every one that believes it. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. We did nothing for it, so we have nothing to boast in. Jesus pad it all and we paid 0. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Salvation is a free GIFT from God when we believe. John 3:16 is true. Romans 11:6 and 4:5 is true. Romans 4:6-8. He imputes His righteousness to us, and will no more impute sin to our account. John 10:28-29 Jesus keeps us saved when we believe it. John 6:37 He will never cast us out. John 6:39 Jesus has never lost one.
