I am so proud of you for doing this, finally someone did this amazing song I do not meditate but if I did this song about a plankton bloom would be perfect. I love how out of chaos comes beauty you can tell they were listening to the Miles Davis insane album Bitches Brew the whole album every song starts out as almost ugly chaos then it resolves in to beauty I love it.

Good call on Bitches Brew I love the way you described that , I will definitely have to revisit that album soon! In fact it would be a great addition to this series 👌🌞 thanks for listening!

As for meditation I think we all tap into that kind of focus and presence in different ways even if it isn't formal meditation. Is there anything you do that brings intense focus and/or flow?

FYI the other drummer is Clive Warren from Portishead.

@@resoundingsource6595 I THINK he’s still technically a member of Radiohead, he played on they’re last album.
Ironically, when Radiohead was presented with a list of possible names for their project, Portishead was one of them.
They went with Radiohead cause it’s a talking heads song, and Thom is constantly talking about how much he loves their Remain In Light album.
That self titled Portishead is still a monster of an album. Only You .... Undenied.... All Mine.... phenomenal album. Just a masterclass in minimalism.

@@grahamveal1943 god damn it. You’re so right and i was so wrong why did I think Clive Warren?! OH. Fucking the Ricky Steve Karl podcast where Karl named “Clive Warren” instead of “Clive Owen.”
My bad thanks for pointing that out.

I can not believe you actually like this albums studio version I like it but its next level from the basement and the fantastic b-sides that should have been on the album are in the session as well you should check it out. Anyway thank you again there are two more totally different versions of this that are also great Hans Zimmer for the series Blue planet and Thom alone with a bunch of looping gear and a piano they are both great the solo one would be great to meditate to I would think.

Awesome thanks for the recommendation! And yeah I had only heard the studio version before this - great song regardless, but maybe you're right though, it could possibly be the weakest version - I will have to keep exploring to make that call 😆

as for meditations, I'd say the ones most suited for drifting to sleep would be the latest two, for new and full moons. Top of the playlist ruclips.net/video/pvViP47QoC4/видео.html
