When Yoda says "you must train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose", there is no avoiding going on. Its confronting. Yoda is not saying stop loving, or anything like that. It simply means accepting that it will end. Whether it be old age, accident, or childbirth. In other words, letting go of attachment. Its basic Buddhist philosophy.

    • @lordmortarius538

The reason Anakin killed them is because they, like all Younglings, had been indoctrinated in the Jedi's dogma since they were infants, and had known no other way. If they had been allowed to grow up they would have definitely opposed him and the Empire (which we've seen happen with every padawan that escaped the Purge) so killing them now when they can't fight back is smart, from his perspective. He's not doing it because he LIKES killing kids (which is for some reason what people think), but because he's thinking ahead and seeing the trouble they'll bring if allowed to escape.

Anakin's attitude came from everyone treating him like crap and not being kind to him. Anakin turned because the Jedi had fallen to arrogance long ago, Obi-Wan failed Anakin as he treated Anakin more like a brother then as a mentor. And Qui-Gon did NOT mis interpret the prophecy, Anakin was the chosen one, he was made from the force itself and thanks to Luke, brought balance to the force. Yoda and the Jedi mis interpreted the prophecy by saying it meant some savior would destroy the Sith, but that is not balance, destroying the dark and leaving only light is not balance at all. Anakin had to destroy the Jedi who lost their way long ago, and then go evil and eventually destroy the Sith, basically resetting the balance of the galaxy. No Jedi, no Sith.....There was Luke, but he was the clean slate.

    Two theories:
One is that the dark side corrupts not just eyes but the entire body and Palpatine had always looked deformed but was using the force to make himself look healthy. Palpatine was so focused in his with Mace that his ability to maintain the illusion was compromised OR he was allowing his true form to be seen to convince Anakin he was becoming weaker to further convince Anakin to assist him and fall to the dark site. Then with the story about the Jedi leaving him deformed, Palpatine no longer had any need to maintain the illusion of his appearance.
And, yes, it did appear in (i believe) a comic that Palpatine did visit Shmi and use the force to create Anakin in her womb.

Qui Gonn spirit taught Obi Wan to become a force ghost, (at the end of the movie Yoda said to Obi that someone returned from the netherworld of the force). In all those years in solitude in Tatooine Obi Wan learnt it. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".

I don't know canon well but I've watched in theaters the original releases of all the Star Wars movies and still believe that Palpatine planted those dreams in Anakin to create a self-fulfilling prophecy of Padme's death at the hands of Anakin. If Palpatine could cloud the Jedi's minds with the dark force, he certainly could have clouded Anakin with his greatest fear of losing his family. That is why in the end Anakin fulfilled the prophecy and destroyed the Emperor to stop Anakin from losing his son.

    • @Harrison11106

He did. The ability that Palpatine/Sidious told Anakin about was only a half-truth too. What he didn't tell Anakin was that in order to save a life using it, another life must end. He used that ability after Anakin/Vader lost to Kenobi to save Vader/Anakins life, at the cost of Padmes own.

The Jedi are dishonorable hypocrites. Notice how they like to fight two or more on one? That is not honorable. They bend the rules to suit them. Dooku was right the whole time. He saw it coming and they would not listen to him. And they are soooooo arrogant. There is a good reason the Jedi Order fell apart. They were never "right" to begin with.

Quick score nerd nitpick, Christina, lol: you mentioned as Owen and Beru stare off into the sunset with baby Luke at the end that it was Luke's theme playing, but that's not Luke's theme - it's the Force theme. In the original Star Wars it was associated with Obi-Wan/the Force, but morphed into just a thematic melody for the Force itself. Luke's theme is actually the main Star Wars theme (even though that also morphed as the prequels were made into more of a "main theme" for the saga).

At 20:10+ When Palpatine/Sidious is telling Anakin about Darth Plagious' ability, what he didn't mention is that in order to save a life, another must end. In his battle with Kenobi Anakin/Vader should've died, that's how severe his injuries were, but Sidious used that ability to transfer life from Padme to Anakin/Vader. Luckily, Sidious didn't know about the twins. At 34:46+, that child, did you notice how he looked overall? That kid was a representative of Anakins childhood innocence, that Vader/Anakin was about to kill.
Now onto the prophesy of bringing balance to the force. From a certain point of view, you could say that Anakin/Vader fulfilled it. At the end of RotS there were 2 Jedi left (Kenobi & Yoda) & 2 Sith (Palpatine/Sidious & Vader).

Even if it has been a long time since you've seen it, it still wouldn't be a "first time watching". It's a rewatch. It's like saying "I'm going to drink a Bud Light for the first time...well, I have had one before, but it was soo long ago, that this will be like my first time." Yes, this is a small think to nitpick over, but clicking a video because the title says it's someone's first time watching, only to find out in the intro that it actually isn't, is a bummer.

Great reaction I enjoyed watching movie with you. I felt just like I did when I first watched it in theaters like you I was invested in the original trilogy. I didn’t even like it when they did the special edition because it changed certain things and you can’t even find the original anymore, but I’ve grown to accept that, I like more than I like them too but real them I just didn’t dislike them. I didn’t like them because they didn’t have Han Solo and he’s my favorite character as a friend original trilogy and someone who I know I just saw you for the first time, but you do not watch until you watch rogue one and a solo story first and if you can watch the Mandalorian through season three first, trust me you’ll enjoy a lot better if you do that clone wars if you want that very good animated show I know because animated but it’s very good. It tells a lot of details. It takes place between episode two episode three of Star Wars Asoka is for the future of Star Wars to watch the clone wars, animated movie that, most important parts into reels clone Star Wars rebels,. It goes from the 66 through the end of episode six that’s where that’s where those are written by Dave Faloney with the permission of George Lucas, but he gave Lucas Disney plots whole script for forepisode 7 8 and nine but they did their own ideas instead her own show has her own show but you can watch that anytime. She clone wars, and Star Wars rebels before her show starts doesn’t go bad until seven. I still watch it watching but just prepare yourself if you love the originals it will shock you for fun. Thanks for the fun until next time.

Grievous is a cyborg due to injuries he sustained in a shuttle crash that, unknown to him, was orchestrated by Dooku in order to bring him to the CIS side and make him beholden to Dooku and Sidious for his life.
He was a Kaleesh warlord prior to this, and his hatred of the Jedi comes from a war between his people and the Yam'rii of Huk. The Yam'rii had invaded and occupied Kalee, and Grievous led a revolt that fought them off, and then prosecuted an invasion of their own world. The Yam'rii then turned to the Republic for help and the Jedi sent Knights to fight the Kalee back to their own world, for which Grievous has held an unending hatred. The Jedi didn't stop to take in the whole situation, they just responded, further showing that they were also failing in their own rules.

For me, the Jedi council, with their dogmatic intransigence, pushed a lot Anakin to the dark side. They´re afraid of him, never truly trusted him, never gave him any serious mission... and mixed with Anakin fears (mostly for Padme) and feeling himself always excluded... the final step was all the Emperor´s manipulation during years but... the Jedi Council had big part of responsibility in this disaster. Even in the last chance he said the truth to Windu. Anakin tried and tried to follow the right path, but all these things became him in Darth Vader.

  • @ItApproaches

Actually what Yoda says is not avoidance. Avoidance is ignoring your problems. Training the mind to not attach to things is a solution. It prevents the problem of pain and suffering which leads to the dark side from ever occurring. It's essentially enlightenment. Or part of it anyway.

How did Anakin go from being a sweet little boy to Darth Vader? Well.... it was all the Jedi's fault.
If Qui-gon Jinn had lived, things may have turned out differently, as he was clearly the father figure that the boy needed, but Obi-wan had to fill in instead, and always viewed Anakin as a younger brother. Also, being just out of training himself, Obi-wan wasn't prepared to train a 9 year old boy (since most Jedi Younglings are taken to the Temple at age 1-2). The Jedi never thought to free his mother from slavery even though it would have been a simple affair for them, and tried to force their dogmatic teachings of emotion suppression on him after he'd already developed his own persona (which is why children are taken to the Temple so young, so they don't form attachments and are thus molded in the Jedi way from the start).
Obi-wan was used to this style of teaching and was not prepared for how Anakin would react to how harsh he was, sowing the seeds of resentment in him early. Anakin has also seen all of the corruption in the Republic, in the Senate via his dealings with Padme during the Clone Wars, their turning a blind eye to smuggling, slavery, and other bad shit in the name of profit, and even the Jedi's hypocrisy in claiming to be peacekeepers and yet pushing for more offensives during the war instead of even attempting diplomacy.
Add to that when Anakin goes to Yoda for advice, he gets the typical "Hands-off" treatment that Yoda is famous for, and is left feeling completely misunderstood, which further confuses his loyalties. He wants to be a good Jedi, but he sees how what they do isn't always good. He's always held that a benevolent tyranny is better than a democracy of idiots and thieves, and Palpatine uses that and other confidences to draw him in to his plots while seeming to be a friend. This is not Anakin's fault, and he does try to do the right thing after he finds out Palpatine is Darth Sidious, but then he sees Mace Windu do the exact thing he berated himself for earlier as 'not the Jedi way' and realises the Jedi are not the good guys they should be.
After this, he basically feels like he has no choice but to follow through on his actions, which we all know is just digging himself into a deeper hole, but he doesn't realize this at first. Having always viewed the Dark Side as just another tool and not an inherently corrupting force also leads to his fall, especially after being told he's THE CHOSEN ONE his whole life and seeing the power he gets from tapping the Dark Side. You can tell he regrets some of what he's doing when he's standing on that balcony on Mustafar, tears falling, but he's in too deep now to go back.
Finally, his outer hatred of Obi-Wan, of the Order, and of the Republic at the end are just pale reflections of his own self-hatred for all of the things he's done and knowing in the end that he didn't even achieve his goal of saving Padme. This is where his true strength as Vader comes from.
Anakin would’ve done better in the older Jedi order (over 1,000 years ago) which was more pragmatic, more adaptable, and didn’t discourage attachments. Back then Jedi even had families and kids of their own. In the past it was the Sith who were dogmatic, and rigid. However ever since the last battle between the Jedi and the Sith (1,000 years ago) it’s now the Jedi who are too rigid, whereas the Sith had evolved and adapted.
What Palpatine said about the Republic not being what it once was in Episode One, the same can be said of the current Jedi Order, ever since their last battle with the Sith. The Jedi had become too dogmatic, arrogant, rigid, and too detached from others. The Jedi had also become too out of touch with things, they failed to see that the galaxy was changing, that people had lost faith in the Republic which had become too corrupt and dysfunctional. The hypocrisy of the Jedi is that while they preached against attachments, they were too ‘attached’ to the Republic and the power that it gave them, they had become too political. They chose to follow the will of a corrupt Senate instead of the will of the Force like Qui Gon did.
Qui Gon was the last true Jedi until Luke came along, he understood how misguided the Order had become. Obi Wan should’ve followed his example and not taken a seat on the Council. Anakin felt more alone after Ahsoka left the Order and it seemed to him that Obi Wan had chosen the Council over him, that he had abandoned him. Only after the fall of the Republic and the Order did Obi Wan realize that Qui Gon had been right all along. Both Obi Wan and Yoda went about training Luke a lot differently, they were kinder, more understanding, and not so rigid. They were both determined to mend the mistakes they had made with Anakin. Luke’s new Order in Star Wars Legends is a lot better than the previous Order had been.
