I just discovered your channel and it is amazing! I love your what’s in my bag videos, I’ve been stuck home in bed for the last three months but when I can finally leave I know my bag will be even more helpful because of you. Thank you! Also I always sanitize after using the pulse ox as well!

Hi Elaine! Thank you for this video. I watched it last night while packing for today’s 8:30-4:30 infusion. Their wifi was crummy, so next time I’ll download a movie or two at home and an easy to read book onto my kindle and use it in airplane mode at my infusion center and leave my heavy book at home. I was freezing under my blankie and holding the book and turning pages was an ice cold challenge. I brought a simple snacky charcuterie lunch of pretzels, sliced apples coated in PB powder(yum!), baby carrots, some crackers, a laughing cow cheese and finally, some grapes. Things I’d leave at home are tangerines or any other food that has any good or bad (tuna!) smell. There are cancer patients there who are fighting nausea. I’ll leave the “real” book and the blankie, instead opting for an electric throw blanket next time, because I was freezing. Thanks for your helpful video.

Try the AIP exclusion diet plan - specifically designed for people with autoimmune disease to identify food sensitivities.

Thanks for the comment. I have modified my diet to help with my disease. I wholeheartedly agree that food impacts how I feel. Sugar is not my friend. 👍🏼

Have you been told your autoimmune issues are responsible for your gastric problems? I have systemic lupus and Sjogren’s and wondering if the problems I’m having with my gastric system now are related beyond what the gastroenterologist has already told me. Thank you for your channel, I am a new subscriber, and I think I’m going to learn some interesting things from you, even though I’ve been on my journey for over 15 years.

I had my first Truxima infusion today. 6hrs.
I was wondering if you could do a video in specifically what to exepct after you get home.
My infusion was a total success, no issues whatsoever, but on the way home I developed a headache and started feeling extremely tired. I'm hoping this is normal as I asked the nurse before leaving if she had any at home instruction for me and ither than a mention about keeping an eye in my blood pressure (which is always normal), she said I should be fine since I breezed through the treatment with no issue.
I searched and all I find is info for symptoms during the treatment. Thanks for sharing!!!

I’m so glad to hear your first infusion went well. Sure, I can do a more in depth video of what to expect after the infusion. Great idea! I wanted to respond quickly to you though to say a headache and tiredness is kind of “normal” for me. Headache for sure…actually I get Tylenol as a premed to help with that. And I definitely feel wiped out not just from the medication but just the emotions of an infusion day (sitting for 6 hours plus kind of early morning). I’d definitely let your doctor know though if it gets worse. Get some rest and be kind to yourself while your super hero juice (that’s my nickname for it) loads. ❤️ I’m sending you good vibes and strength and I hope this medication provides stability. Hugs!

@@ElainesAutoimmuneAdventure thank you so much!! I did have premeds but it is good to hear that a headache if normal. I will definitely let them know if it doesn't abate in a couple days. Again, thank you so much!!!!

Rituxan infusions go well for me. There is a video on my channel of the infusion itself, if you’re interested in seeing the infusion process. I am on Rituxan for Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma) and RA. 🙂
