    I really enjoy your videos... Thanks...
    Keep up the great work...Much appreciate it snd the time you take to explain the gear.
    Your video helped me to make an informed purchasing decision. Someday I hope to hear this wonderful Musical Fidelity Integrated Amplifier.
    I decided to go with a Pass Lab vintage 90's preamplifier and power amp combination. Both stay in Class A.
    They were just shipped...are in transit..excited to hear them together..the heart of my system.

    In the summer my original A1 hits 65c or 149 Fahrenheit, you can only put your hand on it for a second, but i made my own ventilated side panels, and run two ultra quiet usb fans to keep much cooler, glad they made this new 2023 version if it sounds anything close or better than the original it will be a hit.
    I just ordered a new version recently, i am looking forward to hearing the difference between the two.

      We have it running a Klipsch Forte at the moment effortlessly and can fill a pretty big space. Sounds outstanding!

    I read that some owner's of this A1 Amp use an AC Infinity AIRCOM Amplifier Cooling Fan to keep their A1 unit running a bit cooler.

    I've got a Musical Fidelity B200. Made in Wembley, London, England, and bought in 1990, and (IIRC) costing £300 at the time.

    Have you paired this amp with an ls3/5a speaker or even the Spendor 4/5?

    Of all the things to update, why wouldn't they improve the heat dissipation-the biggest complaint about the '80s version?

    • @HudsonValleyHiFI
      @HudsonValleyHiFI  9 месяцев назад +2

      It's class A which makes a ton of heat, it is what it is and there's nothing wrong with the top being hot that's the purpose of it.

    What's the purpose of the normal/direct button ?

    • @HudsonValleyHiFI
      @HudsonValleyHiFI  9 месяцев назад

      It bypasses the preamplifier gain and all the circuitry up to the volume attenuator. It is like a true "line straight" or "pure direct" except this also bypasses the gain stage. I am running the m3xDAC into the A1 and with high efficiency speakers like Klipsch heritage for example the button also adds to the volume attenuator range.

    • @TD05SSLegacy

      …and it sounds? Better? Why do the bypass?

    If people don't like class A and the heat it emitts then go and get a class D AB or B amp.

    It would be a good amp for half the price.

      Wouldn't every amp be...🙄

    • @Zockopa

      @@HudsonValleyHiFI Well,i only know the price in Germany and its around 1600€.
      Imho thats clearly a lover's price. For me its really not THAT good,to claim a price like that.
      I mean the amp is very nice on specific speakers like DeVore`s Orangutan`s O/96 but i bet
      you can count the owners of such a speaker on the fingers of one hand.
      And those ppl tend to prefer f.e. Sugden or Conrad Johnsons,because cash doesnt matter
      for them anyway.
      I admit the new A1 is better than the old one regarding reliability. But thats pretty much it.

      Exactly way overpriced for its performance. I bought one.
