2023 Texas River Marathon

Video from the 2023 Texas River Marathon on Saturday, May 6th. Aka "The Prelim", the TRM is a ~35-mile race to determine starting positions for the Texas Water Safari (the 260-mile race from San Marcos to Seadrift that happens on the 2nd Saturday in June).
The TRM starts in Cuero and finishes in Victoria, Texas. Congratulations to all those who raced.

Nice drone work. Some tough folks out there being able to crank a paddle all out for thirty five miles. A neighboor built a cedar stripper on the lines of a competition C-2 back in the eightys. It was kinda crude but got the job done. The summer we raced it was brutally hot. We were both used to working outside and pretty lean and that helped us beat out the competition in the three races that summer. Beat several boats that had won those races for years in sleek fast composite canoes.
