    • @okboing

      He faked it. I just posted a comment about it. Spin your spinner in your hand and toss it, listening closely to its sound. It will still spin but the caps started spinning as well until they caught up to it. This is when the bearings stop rolling. His bearing didnt stop spinning until it fell off.

  • @johnhurley8918

    So the magnet holds it in the air while the angular momentum of the spinner is keeping it in place. Clever.

    • @gangyixu
      @gangyixu 7 лет назад +2

      John Hurley I think it was for different sizes of magnets when he was experimenting

    • @johnhurley8918
      @johnhurley8918 7 лет назад +5

      Ok. Now my next question: Why different sized magnets.

    • @RaySpartan315
      @RaySpartan315 7 лет назад +9

      John Hurley probably so he can make the fidget spinner levitate. Because you know, different sized magnets have different mass/weights so he'd have to experiment on them.

      FunnyMau5 it will fly because it doesnt fly because of spinning but it levitates on a magnet and i think that t spinning is added to make it more stable like gyroscope

    • @reonee2801
      @reonee2801 7 лет назад +2

      why wouldn't it (magnetic fields don't need an atmosphere but the trick would be to remove the friction of the air)

    I used to float Frisbees like this all of the time. The air is shot both up and down at the same force making it float; sort of like, ejection column that shoot out of the north and south poles of a black hole. Many black holes have a spinning nucleolus that can approach near the speed of light. This is the physics I would use to make a flying-saucier. A frisbee like shape, a hole on top and bottom, and a high speed spinning disk in the center spun-up with magnetism like an electric motor.... the top and bottom openings would have flaps to adjust the up and down force. The tilt of the outer spinning shell would control the direction of the craft...

    why not put this in a vacuum and see how long it would spin? ;) almost literally no friction since the only friction it would face would be the stand (magnetic forces instead of physical stand), but since it'd be in the air, air resistance would slow it down. Since there'd be none of that...

    • @joshstarkey8883

    What I've always wondered about is how you can set up magnets in a way to where there's one loose plus magnet, which is being pulled by a minus magnet, but another plus magnet prevents the before mentioned magnets touch. I had a dream to where someone made a small ring using this trick, and it was a sight to behold! Though it is a dream, I believe it's possible because of *science!*

    There is another guy on here stuck his all bearing fidget in a vacuum chamber and it extended the spin time by approx X6. I would love to see you do a video of that with your design.

    This is old I know and you’re probably over it but how long could it stay spinning afloat? This is awesome by the way. One of the coolest things I’ve seen done.

    Huummm .... I'm just wondering how long it would spin if you could put it in that clear plastic box, and then draw a vacuum. No friction with the ground, or air. Cheers

    curious as to why the centre doesnt appear to move, no bearing is perfectly frictionless

    This magnetic spinning turbine could be used as an engine of sorts when the compressed air and stabilization is added. Somehow, I feel as if this technology existed once before.

    I'm wondering what would happen if he puts it in a vacuum camber. would it spin forever? Because as far as i see there would be no more friction

    what if it was then put into a big enough vacuum jar like would it just keep going forever as there would be no energy transfer?
