    I always enjoy your attention to detail. I've been a CAD guy for 25+ years so I draw/model literally everything I make. I have a profound appreciation for guys like you who can build stuff like this with no drawings :) I built an off road camp trailer and had 500 hrs in CAD before I even started on it :D

    • @AustinCoulson
      @AustinCoulson Год назад +7

      The feeling is mutual. I have tons of respect for guys who can CAD and design things from beginning to end in their mind and on a computer. I start with a rough idea of the end product then try to decide if its possible for me to build. If i'm pretty sure it's possible, I plan as far ahead as I can, which is usually not too far then start working and tackle the road blocks as they come. This entire build took 736hrs and probably around 50 or so planning ahead of time, but I didn't log that time.

    The inside of the back door wasn't perfect. I could see that sag at the top a mile away hahaha. I'm messing with you but it is there. You were right to edge it out first but your fan is huge. I would of tried a smaller tip 420 or less. I painted professionally and had a small business for a time of my life. I absolutely love airless sprayers. One thing I always told myself I'd do is paint a car with one. It's been on my mind for years. Maybe one day I'll break out the Graco and do it. Did you seal seal the walls by chance? Or are they fully welded?

    • @AustinCoulson
      @AustinCoulson Год назад +3

      That stupid sag was from the white primer. I have a smaller tip I started to use but it was slightly damaged. I should have stopped and got a new one. I used to think it would be possible to paint a car well with a sprayer like this, but after this box I have given up on that idea, especially because I love the Devilbiss gun I used on the body. I saw Samcrac use the eastwood airless sprayer on a paint job a while ago and it looked pretty good, at least on camera. I am skeptical about how it would look up close, though.
      The walls were spot welded and sealed with 3m panel bond on the outside and caulk on the inside.

    I watch your projects, and two comments always to be noted about them.. you are a great fab guy who has great attention to details and doing things the right way and second one is "poor design"... See, there is no creativity in projects you do from scratch! The dune buggy, no pretty... 2 pizza trucks extremely identical and in the end still look look like meat trucks... An ice truck! Which is a great opportunity to get innovative and look nice to attract kids, you could have done some curves or an exceptional design to the work station yet again, a box! A snipped shipping container on back of a hideous pink on a cab that never got painted pink! And with all do respect gun metal gray as your finishing color? For an ice cream truck for kids?! On first sight, without seeing the pink, I d definitely think its a work truck, hauling machines or piping or whatever! Please ask for designers, even just subscribers who d do it for free and make votes... Please try making nicer looking projects, that just serving your function perfectly yet not much of a looker! Thanks! Still good work though..
