This edition of Coffee Walk is pure gold.
This content is so good that even a non jeep fan can enjoy it. Great video sir!
I purchased my 1984 Jeep Scrambler from Collins Bros. in 1998. Loved it. Wish I still had it. Mine came with A/C, am/fm radio and the top had never been removed. Perfect interior condition. Wish I could include a pic!!!
Thanks Dennis. I've been restoring Jeep CJ's for about 35 years. I've bought $10 of thousands of dollars worth of parts from your company over the many years that I couldn't find anywhere else especially after I moved to Texas 25 years ago. I learned a little I didn't know about scramblers in this video. I didn't have to many Scramblers come in for restorations because you just don't run across very many decent ones. I mostly ran across them when I was still in Oklahoma doing a lot of work with Sam's Offroad back in the day... Love the channel. Keep up the Jeep videos.
Thank you for being such a loyal customer of ours and thank you for watching my videos! Means a lot
Nice collection Dennis. The Jamboree is marking its spot on the floor.
I'm old enough to remember those "The New Jeep Scrambler" commercials. nice selection. Dennis
The best short car videos on RUclips. Dennis Collins.
Jeep paradise! Your working in what I would call heaven.
Loved the walk through and review of the Scrambler models. I always wanted one but had a 83 CJ7 Renegade and found a company that made fiberglass half hard tops that gave me my version of a mini Scrambler. Had the engine rebuilt, bored .30 over and balanced with performance pard from a company called Clifford Performance that included new cam, intake manifold to accept 3 Webber carbs, and a duel exhaust header for the 258 inline six. Boy did that baby move and hill climb! Living in the past as I’m soon 60, but if I could go back in time and have that Jeep again... Great Channel!
Master of Jeeps! I love that Jamboree looks awesome. Thanks for sharing Dennis.
AWESOME VIDEO !!!! I love how u break down the vehicles options and explain which features make it a certain model, even saying which options it DIDNT come with, and comparing dif model yr options. GREAT JOB
I CRIED watching this for me that Laredo chrome everything my cousin had one in Adjuntas city, Puerto Rico our Family owned a Jeep/AMC dealership. I Never seen another one the same color or any one in any shape. This brought backsomany memories real memories we bent/twisted the front drive shaft four wheeling one day. Wow thank you for this!!!!
I had a 1983 Scrambler. Put on a full hardtop, pulled out the bed divider and put in a CJ7 back seat. At first I didn't realize the thermostat didn't work (stayed open all the time) so added an extra heater under the back seat. After replacing the thermostat the heater would burn you up.
Jeep “Walks” the BEST!
Collins Brothers really knows there jeeps. They're probably the oldest Jeep restoration/ salvage and sales In the US. Thank you guys for keeping the CJ5 , CJ7 and newer alive. Much respect.
instaBlaster...
Wrong🤦♂️🤡
Could listen to you all day boss! Keep up the great work.
My middle school principal drove a Scrambler Laredo. It is identical to the one you just showed. I thought it was super cool back then. It was so funny his name was Mr. Head and yes his first name was Richard, lol.
Lol my high school principle was mr cocks.
My middle school principles name was jack hoff!
Tillicum middle school. Bellevue wa. 1995.
I can still hear them call me to mr Hoffs office over the pa.
Jack hoff! Hahahahahahaha
By far my favorite show to watch in the morning over coffee thank you...
My ex and I owned an '83 for a couple of years. Was a blast to drive around in. It could even pull our 16' camper trailer with no problem. Miss that dang Jeep.
Thanks for the great vid. 1986 I nearly purchased a new scrambler with full hardtop. I was in love. It took a while, but I was finally able to get an 82 several years ago. Half top. Full hardrop. It's rough. Needs TLC, but oh are they a joy. I'm in serious need of a frame. Coveting your bone yard.
Hey Dennis just so you know coffee walk has become my favorite channel on RUclips thank you so much for all the great info and keep up the great work!
I inherited a scrambler from my late father, he died almost a year ago now. He was the first and only owner, I'm now the 2nd owner of it. Growing up, I never knew just how rare they were until even the last year. I've had people try and buy it from me multiple times when I obviously wasn't advertising that it's for sale.
I bought a 1980 black Jeep CJ7 Renegade with a blue denim top and seats . First year for the 4 speed ,am fm radio. Wish I still had it but now I have one of the dreaded YJ's but it is a late 95 with TJ parts all over it and I love it plus it has a galvi steel body.
Nice, thanks for walk around, I've had mine almost 30 yrs
1982 jamboree I believe same as the 86 cj7
Power steering
Power brakes
Tilt wheel
A/C
Full hard top original
Dana 44 rear
Dana20 front
T5 BW trans
Dana 300 transfer case
Fractory tac, clock
And all the rest 👍
I have wanted a cj8 since I was young, my uncle had one in the 80s and as a kid it was the coolest truck ever!! I'm pretty sure it was aftermarket, but he had these big Checkered Flag decals going down the side
Absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing these with us.
The video I just watched was 3 years old. You mentioned the end caps on the rear bumper that you said are hard to find, and that they don't make reproductions. If those are a certain type of plastic, you might be able to get a small run of them made if you have a good pair of samples. great videos.
Wow you are very product knowledge Dennis like always but boy you got to love those Scramblers those are one hell cool looking Jeeps very rare
grazie Dennis che mi fai vedere tutte le ristrutturazioni delle jeep....!!! spero un domani di venire in texas e verrò a trovarti..!!!
You know everything about jeeps
love the jeep scramblers especially the fancy trim ones love carburetors.
Thanks for the scrambler lesson Dennis. OlllllllO Huntsville Ontario Canada 🍁
Thanks for sharing this information. I’ll be watching this video repeatedly. You should write a book.
My daughter's been trying to get me to write a book for years. Maybe one day!
Dennis Collins is. I’d buy a couple of em. Keep one next to the bed for evening reading and one in the shop for reference material. If Dennis Collins were to write one then YES, it would be good enough to buy 2!!!
I wish you would just sell downloads of your brain tho but I’m just not sure the average home computer could hold that much data!
Thank you for all the Jeep info brother! We all appreciate it more than you’ll ever know!
Love that Laredo Scrambler- i didnt like them at the time but love to own one now!
Excellent information on Jeep brand 👍🏼🚙
I just found your Channel you talk more Richard!! But it's all knowledge. I love what you do on this channel and I'll keep watching!!
Wow these things are rare and u have so many
Thnx Dennis takes me back
I just bought a 1984 Jeep Scrambler. It is a base model, but stripes have been added. It is in excellent condition. I was really excited to find it.
Mike Renfro what did you pay?
@@stevest.martin3940 $ Plenty. :-)
Mike Renfro I had an ‘84. Purchased it in 100% original equip and I paid $6,500 for it in 1998. Sold it in 2005 for $6000. It needed too much work to make it reliable so I let it go..... my advise.... don’t have Harley and Jeep as a hobby at the same time. Or.... don’t do it if u have a wife to answer to.... LOL!!!!!
Another amazing 😉 episode of coffee walk Dennis... awesome 😎
You Sir, have the best job in the world.
Thanks Dennis, the video brings back memories of my 1982 CJ7 Laredo in Garnet Red, new subscriber !
FCA needs to come to their senses and build us a 2 door Gladiator....and call it the Scrambler. I would absolutely love to own one of these 80's Scramblers but that's not likely to happen any time soon.
Great Coffee walk, as usual.
great video dennis love those scramblers
There's a 1985 Scrambler Laredo that is owned by a guy in my hometown of Piedmont,Alabama.Same owner for many years,Red in color,I still see it often at the local church or around town.I always knew it was a rare Jeep, but it's cool to find out how rare
@OBServe Garage ,I doubt it.It is super original, still wearing it's factory wood sideboard.I know he's turned down 12,000 for it.If you're ever in Piedmont, though,it sits at the Baptist church downtown on Wednesday night and Sunday.
I wish i could do what u do every day so cool
I had a concept idea of taking a Scrambler, mounting the seats in the same locations as a regular CJ, then install the regular cloth top and doors or hard top with doors.
In the space between the back of the top(s) and tailgate (stays to mount spare), fabricate a removable "trunk" that's contoured to the jeep body (sides and corners), with an angled top (lockable hinged panel) that reaches to just below the rear window of either top. ;-)
Ive got a 1981 with scrambler on the hood no stripe kit, its a base model with power steering, came with the soft top
❤❤Jeep # 1 ❤❤❤ in PUERTO RICO 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷💪💪💪
Great informative video, only two jeeps that i have ever wanted and a scrambler is one of them.
Growing up my great uncle had an one with the half cab and doors with scrambler on the hood I loved that bad boy. In my profile pic you can see the roll bar from the 75 cj5🤙
Great video, Dennis!
Excellent segment.
I've noticed the Dickie's bbq cups on the shelf. We have one here. Love that place.
I used to have a 83 with a 4.0 swap awesome truck
I just found out I have a 1983 cj5, with an 83 engine code on the head, in great shape, I think 1 of 2,800
Its Sherrod green metallic
Dang.... You have Great Jeep's and Rare ones for that matter. I shore do like your channel. I wish I could afford one of your Jeeps. I love 'em too. I favor the CJ-5's myself that is what I had.
You know your stuff!
Mr. Collins, would love to see you do a video of a cj7 build where you use a mixture of parts, from the many cj7's you have laying around, to produce, in your opinion, the best of the best cj7. It would be all rot free original parts to produce a complete vehicle. You pick what engine, trans, drive train and options you feel would make the best cj7 ever...the challenge is to use all oem parts to look as though it could have rolled off the AMC assembly line.
Love this video!
Great videos love this area of jeeps. Had a a 83 CJ7 was gonna put a small block in it mine had a 258 . But if i had one now i would put a 4.0 in it.
You are the jeep god !!!!!!!!!
Coolest place ever. Wish you were in NC.
You're doing it!!! your making content longer than it takes me to blink. LOL THUMB#313
Gr8 vid!!
Wealth of knowledge!!
I have an ‘81 Scrambler that I’ve owned for nearly 20 years. Paid $1500 for it back in the fall of 1999. It was a Nevada vehicle it’s entire life until the guy I bought it from moved to Denver, his wife was killed by a drunk driver and he had to part ways with it. I believe it was possibly a Laredo - it had the exact orange stripes & tan colors shown, half hard top & Scrambler on the hood . Engine was the 258 with the leaky blue valve cover, chrome wagon wheels, no chrome anywhere else aside from the steering wheel spokes. Had the black gauge trim & tach. It had no rear bumper just a hitch, front was a homemade push bumper. It has the rocker trim pieces in black which is the only spot with any body rust currently.
I was talked into doing a v8 swap around 2003 or so and that never was finished, it’s been stored ever since. Engine is long gone, all that’s left is the dana 300 & the T156 that’s been sitting in the tub with the top cover/shifter off all this time, it’s rusted solid. I’m finally in a position financially to get it back on the road.
The purists will hate me but I’ve hung on to this Scrambler this long so I can do what I want... I’ll be doing a 1 ton axle swap with 4 link front & rear on 40” tires, fuel injected dodge 360, NP435 transmission & the dana 300. I’ll also be stretching the wheelbase, comp cutting the rear tub & a full roll cage.
But it’s cool to see that some people are restoring these back to original. Not my thing personally.
They are not as rare here in Denver. I’ve seen dozens throughout the years and currently there’s at least one listed on Craigslist, two at a a dealership locally.
Cool show!
Dennis I live in dothan Alabama there at lease ten scramblers here four are for sale I love your vids and have got parts from you in the past I've got three cjs. 77,80 86 the 77 has the 401 in it and I've got three 401 motors in my shop keep putting out them great vids you know more about jeeps than most love your your coffee walks
Dude you really know your stuff!
Love your show
After watching your videos I want to find a scrambler those are awesome.
Nothing like a CJ grill fully chrome plated .
Good ole Dennis looks like he had a rough prior night.
That's why it's called Coffee Walk. HAHAHA
Good for Dennis!
@phuc ewe always
Very nice jeeps
You guys are parting out a jeep twice as nice as the ones we drive in wi
Awesome chat , great video Dennis . Just found you on RUclips , I subscribed and I will be back , good content!
Thank you!!
anche la jeep scrambleer è bella tutta rifatta !!!! jeepcj8!!!!
Wow the jeep guy nothing better.
Hey Dennis you should look into a 3D printer for those bumper end caps. You can fully scan a good set and recreate them.
You could probabbly 3-D print the end caps since you have samples.
Man knows Jeeps..
Fantastic thanks 👇🏻and what they said 🖖🏻
I believe the "Kelly Safari" was the original tire from the factory ?
great video
I've seen a Scrambler in Saint Lucia. I don't know who owns it. I also saw a GTO there.
Are are you able to 3-D print those and You might wanna look into that if you have a set they could take the measurements from it
Would love to have a scrambler to sit beside my 70 Jeep Commando.
Cool 😎
My sister bought one brand new in 83 and it went to my brother-in-law's stepson if she passed away I wish I could got that's scrambler
Came across a Family roll bar for a 93 Jeep. No rust and no damage. Let me know if your interested. I’m in Houston, TX
We can make those bumper caps :)
Must be perfect part to print in a 3D printer?
The Wagoneer at 10:22 has to be restored !
I have a 77 cj7 , levis, 304 , t400, quadratrac, factory air , saturn overdrive. Have never seen another, was always wondering if it was worth anything.
I think I've seen no more than 3 Scramblers in person, and i'm 53. Extremely uncommon.
I have one with all options.
Dennis , how do you decode the first number of the engine date code on passenger side of the block ? Thanks !
In 1984 I bought an '81 blue 'Levi' Scrambler with the blue denim high back seats, matching blue denim soft top, hard doors, chrome grille and the Levi stickers along with a few other goodies. Do you know anything about them? THought you might mention them in your vid but saw nothing. Thanks in advance.
Question Dennis. Did the scrambler come with a Laredo option that had the spare tire mounted on the roll bar?
One must die for many to live on.
Dennis.. . I love the production numbers and passion. Here is some homework. How many Inca Gold Jeep TJ did they make? I think its a one year color 2003.
I had a 1983 Scrambler in tan with the inline 6 and a four speed trans. I'm sorry I ever sold it.
Wayne Veit, this is why I won't sell my '05, 6 speed TJ Wrangler. I know it isn't the same as your Scrambler but the fact that the TJ is now two generations old, and the fact that I like it better than the JK or JL, means I'm going to hold onto it until I die.
