Poise generation means how long it takes for poise to kick in when you are using attacks. So pretty much hyperarmor Also, as a pvper this is one of the best balance patches of all time period.
Very disappointed with some of these nerfs mostly for the pve side of things it’s annoying that certain weapons get nerfed because of pvp and that usually leads to them being useless against the pve enemies
They can separate nerfs to be pvp exclusive, devs are not that clueless those weapons were skilless crutches and got what they deserved, time to get good
These actually make sense though, nerfing weapons so that instead of having to make all the dlc bosses roided up to account for op ash of war spam from base game stuff
@@alexberube5269The problem is. Most of these changes are boring. The weapons went from being a bit too good. To outright bad in some cases. More of the changes should have been like DMGS, where there was a buff to compensate. Or be like.... I think SF4 Ryu? Where his Heavy Shoryuken got nerfed to have no invincibility frames. But the high damage was kept. This way, players still had a VERY powerful hard read option. But had to think when to use it. But.... Most of the weapons got nerfed into oblivion. And thus, the cycle continues.... More cheese strats will be found, squashed, repeat rinse until all the weapons are weak. (And yet, there's STILL an objective best build.)
@@ToasterDsGNot really there’s 0 point to using the normal attacks usually. The beams do insane damage and stagger from range. You can kill most everything before even getting into melee range.
So they nerfed the cheese builds. Perma-stunning bosses isn't very engaging, and comet azur is even less engaging. Even though the dlc bosses won't let you set up the comet azur with their hyper aggression, it seems they don't want mohg to be trivialized. The nerfs make sense as it'd ruin the new content, and there's more reason to use something new.
I think pvp needs to use one set spot as they join in because people will just run run run and it should be a time limit also because I couldn’t do anything for at least 30 minutes because of trolling
Powerstance twinblades are probably better now. They both got big hits. No knockdown for blasphemous blade, and you have to get close with Dark Moon now. Jelly fish is also a part of the dark moon build, so it got 5% worse.
Quite many bosses didn't get knocked down by Taker's Flame anyway and the skill didn't stance break bosses that often even before the nerf. Malenia cheese is definitely much weaker now since she got easily knocked down from Taker's Flame. Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if DLC has the strongest weapons.
@@Ylikollikas the knockdown is mostly useful against Mobs its true. It is probably still close to as good against bosses. Dark moon greatsword might be worse than it now for bosses though.
@@spongbobsquarepants3922 Honestly seems like the nerf was solely so Malenia wasn't constantly knocked down by Taker's Flames, and tbh, I'm fine with that lol.
i cant believe all those weapons like serpent bone blade still arent infusible I literally could not care less about all these little nerfs when so many weapons are basically unusable cuz they cant be infused
Wow. All our favorite weapons got scuffed and kicked. I guess I can see what FS was after; they made the worst weapons and skills a little better, and made the best worse, but it still hurts. We'll just have to see how this all works out. I pray to Michael Zaki this makes the game better, not worse.
I believe it is only in the later new game + iterations that the enemy scaling really ramps up. NG+ might be the best way to play, because you will be higher level, and get more talismans, and weapons from base game. Like you can now using dual scavengers curved sword for example.
Nerfing the Blasphemous blade is a good idea. It's so tempting to just use it through the whole game. I kept myself from upgrading it on my last playthrough so I wouldn't turn to it when I was having trouble
Poise generation speed 14+ poise/s per second after not dealing damage for 6-8 seconds. "Decreased the poise generation speed" probability means it reduces the amount out of poise a combatant can regenerate
From what I understand, they made the late scaling a bit better for it so you'll see big gains on high Int and Faith stats. Given what Youwy said about Golden Order seal, they might have made the late scaling better on all dual catalysts so actually dedicated Int/Faith (or other dual stat catalyst user) builds will probably use Dual Catalysts much better than users that are less dedicated.
Holy damage is too powerful against end game bosses. Lets nerf one of the few weapons that can still be used against Maliketh and Radabeast if you're a faith build and not be ass against them. Gee From, thanks for that.
Yeah, i planned to use longhorn with my faith build with bb for fire resist enemies.. bb is still good but longhorn is dead now( no good holy weapon left
@@dimitrischampanski2905 what's bb? Blasphemous blade? I don't get why From hates Faith so much. It was already the worst element to use mid to late game and there were only a few weapons that were viable. Blasphemous got nerfed but at least it still has the same damage. Sure the longhorn had a ot of poise damage (if all bubbles hit) so i can see nerfing that. But from the looks of it, its AoW damage was halved. You already had to wear a stupid helm to make it good, and it was mainly really good against big enemies. Against smaller enemies most of the bubbles missed and it didn't do that much damage. Now it's going to be terrible against regular enemies and mid against big bosses. And useless against Black Cat and Radabeasti. The AoW barely did 2k damage as is, now what 1k damage against them? And why now of all times? It's been the same for 10 patches and 2 plus years. Well, there's still a few good options left but I don't even want to mention them. All i can say is, DLC better have some good faith/str weapons. Guess it's time to put away my doot-doot horn after 14NG cycles and change from bard class to paladin.
Switch to incantations instead. You have catch flame for pretty much every boss, pest threads for elemental resistant bosses, ancient dragon lightning strike for big enemies, frenzy burst for NPC invaders like Gideon. These options currently carry against every boss.
@@spongbobsquarepants3922 I know they do, but spells are different from weapons. There's still a few other weapons that are really good too. Longhorn wasn't the only good faith weapon. But there's not many and now it's nerfed to hell. Moonlight GS was nerfed too (and buffed as well), but only the poise damage of the projectile, not how much damage it does. That's what From should have done here. Nerf the poise damage of the bubbles, but leave the damage alone or decrease it by 10%-20% at most. Looks like the damage was almost halved on it. Holy damage was already the weakest type (not Faith options like fire or physical incantations) and one of 4, maybe 5 good holy weapons is mid now at best and probably terrible against higher resistance enemies. And it's not like it was a PVP monster that needed nerfs like dual spears and other poking weapons. It's a purely PvE weapon and who cares what it does in PvE? It's not affecting other players. You don't see it included on a lot of OP weapons lists. I'm just bummed because I really like it and have used it a lot, but looks like I'll be switching to something else now.
Whole reason people wanted PvP exclusive changes was so they didn't screw with PvE players' favorite things. Yet they still do these garbage PvE nerfs.
we needed this update three months ago, so we could adjust but no. now its "go through some of the hardest content weve made with newly nerfed builds."
Saw this coming, made sure that my build didn’t rely on anything meta or extremely powerful. Fromsoft isn’t going to take 2 years to build something challenging and fun just to let you cheese it like you did the base game.
I was using envoys longhorn and blasphemous blade, they nerfed both, so sad. Bubble shower was op but now it feels useless, it does less damage than a jump attack, at least on normal enemies. not sure if against a big enemy more bubbles will hit and do more damage, I need to test.
They're only useful against giant enemies now, as you say, more bubbles = More Damage. Sadly, they don't break posture anymore.. well, at least not as fast. But still somehow viable against big foes.
Idk who these companies are but fromsoft clearly didn't do it here. There is still fucking PLENTY of broken shit in this game. And fromsoft games outside of PvP are way more fun with reasonable weapons

Blasphemous Blade and Dark Moon Greatsword will still be OP
Just because they kill bosses in 5 hits now instead of 3 doesn't make them garbage
They didn't nerf them for pvp reasons, obviously.
They can separate nerfs to be pvp exclusive, devs are not that clueless those weapons were skilless crutches and got what they deserved, time to get good
@@Elden_Cock_Ring surprisingly only used them for annoying over world enemies like the ones in the haligrade tree and such but not really for bosses
The thing about dex scaling was probably mistranslated, seems like the japanese version is talking about quality infusion instead.
Balance patches are why I quit Overwatch lmao
@@alexberube5269 Nothing about balance patching a single player game makes sense. Bad design, trash developer, end of story.

Can’t wait to see everyone who crouched the broken stuff whine about it lmaooo
So the weapons damage were only in pvp right? Thank god
They be playin with our hearts by not specifying PvP and PvE changes good enough
Looks like some was both. Bubble Shower probably isn't big in PVP.
Darkmoon sword wave pose nerf was in PVE too
@baltzy1616 it's clearly specified in the patch notes lol . That whole first section is pvp only. The rest is for both pvp and pve though
@@baltzy1616 There's a huge PVP specific title to the PvP changes. How can they possibly make it simpler for you?
Darkmoon great sword was also buffed , it has increased poise damage with its regular and charged attacks, it's going to be very op

@@ToasterDsGNot really there’s 0 point to using the normal attacks usually. The beams do insane damage and stagger from range. You can kill most everything before even getting into melee range.
The charged beam attack also has a weapon hitbox. I think this is the part that deals the great stance damage on the buffed R2 now.

Same lol, I didn’t even realize the godslayer sword was bugged because I haven’t played in so long
They made the dlc hard as hell and not only that they nerfed the best weapons lmao
Elden Ring as a whole is a massive disappointment, so its only natural for the DLC to double down
@@Gungrave123Brain issue I'm afraid
Gotta nerf the old stuff to sell the new stuff. Gunfire does the same thing for Remnant 2.

So they nerfed the cheese builds. Perma-stunning bosses isn't very engaging, and comet azur is even less engaging. Even though the dlc bosses won't let you set up the comet azur with their hyper aggression, it seems they don't want mohg to be trivialized. The nerfs make sense as it'd ruin the new content, and there's more reason to use something new.
the summoning pool thing is a godsend
I think pvp needs to use one set spot as they join in because people will just run run run and it should be a time limit also because I couldn’t do anything for at least 30 minutes because of trolling
The inventory additions are in the game, you need to enable them in the options menu
THIS IS WHY YOU READ TUTORIAL POP-UPS
I'm glad they nerfed the powerstancing great spears. Those types of players were getting extremely annoying, lmao.
Ok so Blasphemous Blade and Darkmoon Greatsword nerfs were so minor that they are still like top 2 weapons in the game in PvE.
I'm wondering if Mohgs spear is still good
Powerstance twinblades are probably better now.
Thank goodness they didn’t nerf black flame tornado
The GO seal got a small buff, at least looking at the 43 int/faith setup, it had 330 before the patch, now 338
i cant believe all those weapons like serpent bone blade still arent infusible I literally could not care less about all these little nerfs when so many weapons are basically unusable cuz they cant be infused
Wow. All our favorite weapons got scuffed and kicked. I guess I can see what FS was after; they made the worst weapons and skills a little better, and made the best worse, but it still hurts. We'll just have to see how this all works out. I pray to Michael Zaki this makes the game better, not worse.
"Increased attack power of arrows" yeah they literally increased it by 3. But at least is a buff 🤷♂
Is playing the dlc on new game plus not the best idea for first playthrough? New game +1
More fun and challenging on fresh game. Since some op talisman combo and weapon combo are gated behind ng+1
I believe it is only in the later new game + iterations that the enemy scaling really ramps up. NG+ might be the best way to play, because you will be higher level, and get more talismans, and weapons from base game. Like you can now using dual scavengers curved sword for example.
I did that with bloodborne's dlc, it was the hardest thing I have ever experienced in a fromsoft game. But it was fun
This patch note in a nutshell: Lets nerf everything op in the game, but buff none of the trash things in the game
I haaaate nerfs. Too strong, do not use the effing thing. What about those of us who actually want to be badass and overpowered.
then you buy the dlc to use weapons with flashier effects (dangling keys) and would make the base game weapons at their prime look like joke weapons.
Gotta nerf the old stuff to sell the new stuff.
They nerfed the Base game weapons so you can now enjoy the DLC broken ones
@@kizmo2317 Yeah, exactly
@@kizmo2317 People would buy the dlc regardless. It's not an online service game with a battle pass. Do you even use your head ever?
Nerfing the Blasphemous blade is a good idea. It's so tempting to just use it through the whole game. I kept myself from upgrading it on my last playthrough so I wouldn't turn to it when I was having trouble
It’s still the best weapon in the game lol. The nerf is incredibly minor.
Poise generation speed 14+ poise/s per second after not dealing damage for 6-8 seconds.
"Decreased the poise generation speed" probability means it reduces the amount out of poise a combatant can regenerate
Thank you
16:28 oh my beloved, you will be Morned
I NEED TO KNOW IF THE PRINCE OF DEATHS STAFF IS NOW VIABLE WITHOUT INSANE STATS
From what I understand, they made the late scaling a bit better for it so you'll see big gains on high Int and Faith stats. Given what Youwy said about Golden Order seal, they might have made the late scaling better on all dual catalysts so actually dedicated Int/Faith (or other dual stat catalyst user) builds will probably use Dual Catalysts much better than users that are less dedicated.
@@FolutuAs someone with 99 in all my stats, I can confirm that the scalings haven’t changed so it’s probably buffing the earlier scaling levels
@@soulsenthusiasts1015 Probably then.
Why the fuck is it necessary to nerf weapons in a single player game?
@@D00MTR33 you are right..sad i see no alternative to bubble horn. I probably will switch to night comet mage because its op.

Thats what im saying they expect it to be a easy game when its not supposed to be but people should adapt
