    Sounds good to hire mental health workers to respond to emergency situations but I can tell you what's going to happen . A mental health worker will respond but will ask for a police backup so you'll have a police officer dealing with protecting the mental health worker and controlling the mental patient while the mental health worker is telling the police officer what to do.

      You know this is already implementing and working great in other parts of the country? Reducing police deaths too!

    Let it sink he, he wants to raise taxes in CHICAGO THE most highest taxed city there is already.
    I wonder why he wants to raise taxes, maybe you can figure that one for yourself

    *Anyone who wins the mayor's office has to make sure that all the commanders of the police districts agree and support the mayor; otherwise they don’t put effort into combating violence and insecurity. It's a political game.*

    he claims to be concerned about crimes but still not saying with precision what he would do to reduce it , that is why Vallas is going to win , he is promising hiring more officers , that is a huge and good thing people wanna hear

      Not sure I trust a former CPS teacher to stand up to ridiculous CTU strikes/demands when taxpayers need him to most.
      He's certainly not afraid to raise taxes.

      If this guy becomes mayor, you won’t be able to afford to live in this crime ridden city. That’s definitely change but not so sure it’s considered “making progress”

      When the videos from his interviews on WGN during the riot get passed around a little more, it will upset more than a few voters. Johnson wouldn’t even condemn the riots and looting. He actually thought of them being reparations.

    Brandon Johnson aka Lightfoot 2.0! ‪Brandon Johnson wants to defund the police and raise taxes! Paul Vallas wants to not raise taxes, ban the speed cameras, and backs the blue. Let’s go Paul Vallas!‬

      Judging by your picture, you’re not too bright and thus I fully expect you to vote for someone based on skin color and not actually doing any research and doing CRITICAL THINKING in order to ensure that your choice is the most beneficial for not only yourself but others around you.

    Mr. City-wide income tax

    • @degan9403
      @degan9403 Год назад

      What tax is he proposing?

    • @pcartwright66
      @pcartwright66 Год назад +1

      @@degan9403 his original plan came with a 3.5% city income tax on incomes over $100k but he scrapped it because it was so unpopular. He plans on reinstating the “head tax” on # of employees which obviously hurts small businesses the most since they can comparatively least afford it. He also has plans to tax commuters with an already financially hobbled Loop that desperately needs increased foot traffic or will just become the biggest collective of vacant super luxury housing and empty offices in the world.
      BJ is running on vibes alone, and his vibes based spending plan is built on the assumption that airlines are just going to give him $500 million of his needed $800 million for “polluting the air” as if we never asked them to.
      That’s not exactly well planned or realistic, and that’s why the bill will inevitably fall on the middle class like it always does. All while doing absolutely nothing to address the immediacy of violent crime. We’ll just have to wait for the community investment to get people to put their guns down

    *Crime and violence must also be combated at their roots. The poor economy, the dropout in schools, the lack of jobs close to home and the bombardment of advertising for luxury objects, cause many young people to end up a crime.*
