I’m totally jealous of the denim overalls, and your day in Brighton. Next trip to UK it’s Brighton for sure. You will love Clan of the Cave Bear. I’ve been wanting to reread the series for awhile.
This is such a nice and wholesome video! ♥ Jen's outfit is incredible. I wish I had access to lucy and yak (both geographically and economically), everything they make is exactly my style!
I was recommended The Clan of the Cave Bear by my Biology teacher ages ago in high school. That was a fantastic read for teenage me. Kudos to teachers knowing how to entice people to read more.
My mum recommended it to me, because I had read most children/teen books and was looking into adult books, and they were one of her favourites. I was like 9-10 though, so I skipped some scenes 😅😆 Or did read them and was like 😳 I told my mum about them, and my mum was like, oh, yeah, I forgot… lol…
I've only been to Brighton a couple of times as well but I've had a lot of fun each time I've gone! Loved how colourful the vlog section was, looks like you had a great time! Big respect for rockin' the lady mustache, although I think a full lady beard would suit you better! Happy reading :D
Looks like a great day out! I have recently rediscovered Brighton, having only been there once before, about 12 years ago. I went to the new Coast is Queer lit festival last month and it was fantastic, I definitely recommend you try and go next year. Because the festival was over to the east I discovered a whole new neighbourhood, Kemptown, which has such a good vibe. I had a great brunch there. I really liked the dungaree dress you tried on too, might check them out next time I'm there.
I loved that clothes shop but when I checked their website they didn’t have that gorgeous array of coloured dresses online - just printed t-shirts. Darn it!
I WANT TO GO TO THE PINK SHOP WITH ALL THE OVERALLS OMG THAT IS STUNNING! AND I PINK BOOK SHOP!? I am in heaven. I need to go to Brighton. Is this now one of my favourite videos by you? Perhaps.
Everyone loves Brighton, even we who live here!. If you enjoy Clan of the cave bear, I guarantee that you will read the rest of the series. They are all beyond brilliant. FYI, the Martlets is a local hospice that provides end of life care, mostly for cancer victims. Anything bought from the shop means that your money will be well used...……......……………………......…...the old man by the sea.
Yay that’s great to hear about clan of the cave bear and thanks for the info! I’m always happy when I can support hospice care, they made such a difference when my dad had cancer.
I liked Clan of the Cave Bear when I first read it and the prehistorical worldbuilding is really cool but I would recommend folks look up content warnings before reading it (there is on page sexual violence in the first book and consent weirdness in subsequent ones).
Love the Clan of the Cave Bear and charity shopping however, thanks to steroids I can no longer find clothes in charity shops because I am too big. Glad you had a super day.
I used to live in Brighton. I found it very unfriendly, unwelcoming and ridiculously expensive. Its great for a holiday or a trip I think but its not a fun place to live.
lovely vlog, seeing all the beautiful places you've been to makes me want to go to brighton (or even just outside ;). The Lucy and Yak store looks like a dream!
I used to work in that Books For Amnesty, still have so many books from there. Martletts is an amazing hospice just based in Sussex.

This was SO CUTE! 😍
Aw I’m so pleased you though so - I was a bit nervous about it 😅

I lived in Brighton for many years, but I haven't been back in while. I missed its Indy bookshops so much!
I think you both needed a day at the beach. Comfortably relaxed should be a phrase. And good finds.
Thanks! I’m glad we went ☺️
.. Absolutely LOVE England (..and that flask segment - ha!)! Many thanks...

It's so funny seeing you walk around my city! Looks like you had such a nice time, trading post is my favourite place to go for lunch 😊
Oh wow, read Clan of the Cave Bear years ago and really liked it. Will need to reread it, I feel.
